This is now a Motel 6. The service was polite but the first room smelled so horrible we had to move. We later found it that it was cat piss that was binding our eyes. We booked a stay at the Rodeway Inn, but when we pulled up late at night after a long day of traveling, the building was clearly labeled as a Super 8, which was confusing right from the start. Walking into the lobby was our first sign that we should have left immediately. The overwhelming odor was impossible to ignore and honestly made us gag. Unfortunately, because it was late and we were exhausted, we tried to make the best of it. We were traveling with two cats and specifically chose this hotel because it advertised itself as pet-friendly. Upon check-in, we were informed that they only have one room dedicated to cats, which is something that should be clearly disclosed before booking. That room, however, was in extremely poor condition. The smell in the room was just as bad as the lobby--strong, stale, and unbearable. We tried to tolerate it, but it quickly became too much. We went back to the front desk to ask for another room or a refund, and both were denied. The only solution offered was an air freshener, which did nothing to address the underlying issue. I have stayed at many hotels that allow cats, and there is no logical reason a room or lobby should smell this bad. Being pet-friendly does not mean sacrificing basic cleanliness. I would not stay here again and strongly recommend looking elsewhere, especially if you're traveling with pets or arriving late with limited options. read more

Strongly recommend fixing the front / entrance door. To bungee cord the inside and not allow guests in isn't a fix. Manager demanded I use the side door, but there were two police vehicles there with drug sniffing dogs. So that wasn't available. The police and dogs were inside the hallways and rooms and freaked out my young daughter. But... maybe she thought the dog was cute. Constant police presence makes the motel a safer place. There was no continental breakfast. There are hundreds of thousands of other hotels finding ways around covid to serve that. I have photos of police at the hotel if requested. This hotel is horrible! Our room was so dirty we asked to be moved to a different room and he said all their rooms were the same and he ended up refunding us because it was so disgusting. DO NOT GO HERE! Go across the street to the other hotel, and save yourself the trouble!! read more

I suspect that this place has had a change in management as the bad reviews are from last year? My experience was so different from these descriptions that I'm a little shocked. I stayed in Cozad, Nebraska. Spinning off I-80 about a week ago after hitting black ice, I hunkered down in this Rodeway Inn. My car nearly went across the medium into oncoming traffic so I was lucky to not be harmed. I was stuttering from the shock when I called around 10 AM to ask if they allowed dogs. Yes, they do. So there I went to rest for a night and to have my car checked as I slid sideways for quite a distance. How marvelously gracious this host couple was to me. They allowed, without extra charge, to check in right then, many hours earlier than the typical hotel afternoon time. The gentle lady rushed to the door to help me lug my suitcase inside, offering me coffee from the breakfast bar. The gentleman made sure that the sidewalk was shoveled and salted. They were consistently polite and fine hosts. I asked them questions more than once, trying to find a place to have my car checked, where to eat, etc. By the way, I took my car to Licky's (most car places shut at noon on Friday for the entire weekend) to have it checked. They were great too -- refused even a tip for keeping open past their closing time. I managed to at least pay for one guy's lunch in thanks. I don't see Licky's Tire and Lube listed but want to give them a good review too. I will make a point of staying here when in the area. They were so kind and thoughtful. read more

Found this on my NECK this morning and lady at the front desk tried to tell me it's because we come in and out from our car to our room... a BED BUG from my car ? I have a 11month old baby I sleep with lucky he didn't wake up with one on him. BIG OSHA PROBLEM!!! When I asked her who cleans the bed she said she does and when I showed her the wipe with the bug on there she instantly reached for it and threw it away she's the managers wife .. good thing I took a picture of the evidence before she tried getting rid of it... Beware if you have luggage and things to carry to your room. This is a large Hotel not to have an elevator. Also, there are no available carts to put your luggage on to roll it in. Otherwise, the staff is friendly, the place is clean and pleasant. I enjoyed my stay other than hurting myself trying to carry the luggage up the stairs. read more

This place makes a big deal out of being awarded some 2014 best in show or some similar type of award, but frankly, that is greatly overstating things...considerably. One of the biggest things about hotels is that you can tell how much they're paying attention by the little things. Compare and contrast this with the Super 8 I usually stay at on my annual I-80 vacation excursion and a number of differences are readily apparent, such as that Super 8 never having stifling hallways, such as this one did both the night I checked in and the day I checked out. At Super 8, the room is chilly when I walk in and I usually have to turn it down, welcome relief after a day of traveling. Not here. Nope, the room is equally as stifling as the hallways. Continental breakfasts are throwaways, but here, you get selections of sliced loaf bread and that waffle batter thing, a couple juices, a smattering of coffee and instant oatmeal and that's it. No yogurt. No fruit. Nothing like that except some dinky little danishes. Again, this is well below the Super 8's level and I've never mistaken that for a fancy place, yet somehow they manage to have ice machines on both floors, which this one also failed to do. The room itself, besides the stifling heat, was also not comfortable particularly, with very hot flood lights (???) in the bathroom, the actual bathroom sink OUTSIDE of the bathroom itself (ick) and a very low toilet. Towels were on the lighter side, but everything was at least by appearance clean. With the rooms and having free wifi, you never expect blazing speeds, but this one was crawling along at near dial-up. All in all, while this has an incredibly convenient location, right on top of I-80 and next to a Burger King and a not very well stocked up and over-priced Cenex and along the drive up Meridian Ave. into one of the oddest, but also kind of neatest small towns I've encountered in my journeys, it is struggling to make the nut even to average, which it mostly is. This review should be read as 2.5 stars, but the staff was friendly enough, so they can have the extra bump. If any kind of luxury or even the usual amenities are up your alley, though, seek elsewhere. This is to bunker down basically overnight only. read more

No, the rooms are suppose to be 100 percent smoke free but they smell like an ashtray. In my room the maid overlooked Cheetos left on the floor and a pubic hair in the shower. The pillows suck too. read more

Got a last minute reservation, when I got there the paperwork was all printed out and ready to go. Quiet and clean (my main criteria), staff was friendly. Breakfast is minimal but adequate. Very nice hotel, especially for the price. Pretty big rooms, and they were very modern. I stayed here overnight on a ski trip out to Colorado. The rooms had a fridge, which you don't usually find in low-priced hotels. Nice staff, and the hotel is right off of the highway. I would stay here again. Great motel in the middle of nowhere on I80. After searching for over an hour while driving from Omaha and not finding anything under 100.00 with good reviews we found this treasure and were so pleased. We got a king bed room and requested a micro/frig in room on top floor and it was only 55.00 plus tax!!! It was very clean, modern, bed was wonderful and even had free breakfast. They were not busy, only about 3-4 cars in lot so very quiet. There isn't an elevator but we didn't have much to carry in. The front desk clerk was very nice. There wasn't a hair dryer in the room but They have them at front desk. We will definitely stay there again if ever passing through Cozad, NE. read more

We were so darn tired though, and the room was comfortably big, so we had no major complaints. Great place to stop when you are traveling through. They allow pets and don't charge unless you have two or more. The rooms are clean, but a little out of date. The customer service is excellent, they were nearly full and we got one of the last rooms, when we entered the room it was freezing. We tried to use the heater but it wasn't working. We called down to the front desk and they came up and checked and realized it was broken, they immediately found us another room and confirmed the heater was working before leaving. The continental breakfast is mediocre but for such a cheap price for the hotel it's good enough to get you going. read more

A nice old fashioned "motel" with breakfast and clean beds. Each room has microwave and refrigerator as well.

Clean and comfortable; feels more secure than the usual interstate budget motel; very affordable; friendly staff--not plush, but definitely not your typical Rodeway! Well worth staying on the road just a little longer, or stopping just a little sooner. Five stars if the continental breakfast had a few more options. read more
