Passing through town, I called several hotels to check on rooms. This one had the most pleasant sounding receptionist and a good price, so I chose it. It was a good decision. The hotel is dated, but when I was there (8/23/24) it was immaculate. Dated in this case also means quality materials were used in construction, which means noise doesn't pass through the walls. The staff was friendly and you could tell they took pride in their jobs. There was even an included light breakfast with some hot food. From check in to departure, the staff was great. I even asked the person at the desk for restaurant recommendations around the hotel when I checked in and she gave me honest opinions. After eating at one that didn't have a completely full parking lot, I'm thinking I probably should have listened to her lol....The room was large for a hotel and the bed was insanely comfortable. I couldn't figure out how but if I could have stuffed the mattress in my car, I would have tried lol. Not the typical hard mattress. The only negative and had zero impact on my rating because it was so minor was the toilet paper holder lol....not sure how it could get so rusted out and nasty but they should probably consider changing it out. Better than expected! Comfortable bed & lots of pillows to choose from. Hot shower and they have the shower head placed up on the wall for us taller folks! King room had lots of space! Lots of towels too! Hot breakfast was good. We didn't get to try the pool bit it did look inviting! Check in service was outstanding! So helpful and even provided a list of local discounts that came with our stay. We tried the Texas Outlaw restaurant/ see my review there. We would select this hotel again. A few opportunities for improvement: although we were not in a handicap room having a grab bar horizontal in the shower would be a good thing as would Comfort height toilets! read more

The room was great. We'd been traveling & had a problem with another hotel, so we booked at Comfort Suites Elizabethtown via Priceline. I paid for the reservation in full via Priceline for $180. Clean room, comfortable beds, decent breakfast. When we got to the hotel and checked in, I was told I'd need to put down a deposit, even though they admitted they could see the prepaid reservation. I was too tired to argue and gave them my Amex. Card on file for incidentals is standard so although being asked for a deposit was odd, whatever. We knew we weren't going to need incidentals and we weren't going to cause damage so I knew whatever they authorized would fall off. A month later, after two calls to the hotel & being told twice by a manager that they made a mistake & charged me for the room instead - plus two promised refunds that never showed up - I'm now disputing a $150 charge from this hotel with Amex. A bit in shock this morning. I checked in Sunday as a DOD employee on official travel. I mentioned to the person behind the counter that the reservation should be tax exempt. They said no problem. The room was OK. The hotel is a little dated but it looks like they made an effort to try and update the rooms. My toilet wobbled pretty bad when I sat on it, my ice bucket had a bag in it with water which shows me that housekeeping did not change the bag, and my coffee maker had a used coffee pod in it, which shows me that again, that housekeeping didn't bother to really clean the room properly. But that's OK - not a big deal for me. So I go to check out this morning and I had my bill which was stuck in my door - and it had taxes on it. Again I'm traveling for the DOD on official travel and from what I read online, Kentucky is a tax exempt state and you don't need any special forms. So I asked the guy behind the counter this morning if he could fix my bill to take the taxes off. He looked it up and said that since my reservation was in my name then I would have to pay taxes. That didn't make any sense to me because the reservation was made through the DTS (Defense Travel System) and using a government travel credit card. The guy kept arguing with me and I asked him to call a manager, which he did. The manager offered to email me an explanation of how it works...which I didn't feel really fixed anything. I told him I didn't think it was correct and I was about to say I guess I'll figure it out later when the guy behind the counter started yelling at me and told me to just, "get the fuck out!" I was a bit shocked. I mean, I'm a military veteran so that word does not necessarily bother me that much, but it coming from the person behind the counter at a brand named hotel was a shock. Another employee came in and I looked at her hoping that she would rescue me from this screaming employee who just kept telling me to get the fuck out. I asked her if she was just gonna let that keep happening and - shocker - she asked me to just leave. I asked for the first employees name so that I could speak to the general manager later on and report him, and he told me, "my name is fuck you." Wow...just wow. So I guess I would say if you're military or DOD, do not stay at this hotel. In fact I would tell everybody don't stay at this hotel. There's absolutely no reason why any guest should be treated like that. I don't think I was being belligerent, but I was challenging them on the tax issue because I know it's going to come up when I go back to my agency and have to file my travel paperwork. The didn't like that. It could've definitely been handled better and I'm very disappointed in this hotel chain. Two hours later and I'm still a bit in shock over it. There are WAY better hotels in the area...go there. Update: A week has gone by. The general manager and I spoke over the phone about the incident and he apologized. He tried to call me when our plane was leaving and I couldn't talk to him, but he said something about two free nights would be put on my choice privileges account, which he apparently set up for me. So I finally got it all set up and finalized and the lady on the phone told me that there were no free nights in the system. Then the general manager stopped returning my emails. Go figure. Whatever. Don't go here if you can help it. read more

I once got a room for $98 elsewhere and it was awful. The $99 price on any hotel room sometimes scares me and I won't even get a room. There is some construction in the lobby but everything is very clean and new. My kids liked the pool and whirlpool. read more

Awful Customer Service! Front Desk staff disappears for long periods of time and seemed very poorly trained. At check out, I asked for a receipt and was refused. The front desk attendant called a manager who expected me to wait until she came from another hotel to be provided a receipt. I was already late for a tour because I had already been standing there so long! Also, breakfast was terrible. read more

This hotel is not of the same quality as other Comfort Suites that I have stayed at. The staff were friendly but the breakfast did not have a lot of choices as I have seen at other Comfort Suites. My television did not work and when I put in a request for it to be fixed, nothing was done to correct it. I do not recommend this hotel. read more

Fantastic Stay. Friendly staff let us check in a little bit early. The suite was very clean and perfect. We left our phone charger at a previous hotel and asked the front desk if they had a charging cable. THEY HAD A CHARGING CABLE AND LOANED IT TO US FOR OUR THREE NIGHT STAY FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE. Breakfast was better than expected with several options including make-your-own waffles with a waffle iron. Breakfast bar offered a selection of four coffees including decaf. Immaculately clean pool and hot tub area with towels provided at the pool. Several restaurants nearby including Ruby Tuesday, Wendy's, Cracker Barrel and a local restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

The hotel is infested by a musty, moldy stench. This foul funk is everywhere, from the tiny lobby to the out-dated rooms. Ironically enough there is a sign at the front desk that says "Breathe Easy you're at a Choice Hotel"; you certainly CAN NOT "breathe easy" because it feels as if you are inhaling mold spores. ( Other places in town had pool that was 35.00 cheaper). So we noticed the hot tub was closed and yes we were very bummed but understood the restrictions ( Why was this not posted.....Why have the hot tub in main picture?) So we got over it and decided to enjoy our time in the pool. We were having so much fun for about 30 minutes before the office clerk (guy) comes in to let us know that we can swim for 30 minutes and then we have to get out. They have a birthday party scheduled. Of course we are confused. So we asked when we could come back? He told us that they are scheduled for swimming all day with other people. Lets just say....220.00 for 2 room and we get a total of 1 hour to swim. Why was this not listed when we purchased the room online? Why were we not explained this when we checked in? Why is this other birthday party better then ours?? After we got out we checked the pool for the next hour and NOBODY was in it. I noticed the birthday party later in the day and if you look in the brown books in the room it will tell you NO BIRTHDAY PARTIES OR EVENTS are allowed. The clerk explained to us we would not get our money back and that it's just the way it is. The manager ( I guess) was in the back room and kept telling him to say things. She would not even come out of the back room and let me tell you.....Unprofessional. I will never stay at this Comfort Suites and any other for the rest of my life. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! read more

After traveling all night to Kentucky to avoid a snow storm in Northern Lower Michigan, so my husband could get to his military medical appointments for post neurosurgery, Comfort Suites went above and beyond to give us a last minute room before check in hours after having a horrible experience with our original hotel that was booked ahead of time. Just tried to go into our fully paid for assigned room, after a 6 hour long drive. The door was latched from the inside, and was then told by the on duty manager that the hotel is fully booked; double booked in fact. It is now 1am, and we're simply hoping for some shut eye. read more

The staff at this hotel were very accommodating! My daughter was wanting healthy food after a 13 hour road trip with fast food and gas station junk food, so they went into their breakfast food and got her a banana and an apple. It made her night! The rooms were clean and comfortable; also large in size. We had to wait 2-3 min at check in, but that is because the staff was busily working with other guests in the lobby-again, quality customer service. Breakfast was ok, not super well stocked, but many people were there at once. This led to an overfull garbage can. Overall, VERY pleased with the hotel, especially the front desk staff! This location needs a little help. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The area around the elevator was constantly wet from those guest returning from the swimming pool. Even the inside of the elevator was soaked with water and no one at the hotel seemed to really care. The carpets need to be cleaned. While out room was clean and acceptable, the carpet did need cleaning. The whole place could stand a good cleaning. The free breakfast was not all that great. It was Sunday and I have to assume the food was certainly not freshly delivered. You could definitely see the freshness not reflected int eh food.There seemed to be a family involved in the operation of the hotel because when we came back for the evening the lobby area was full and an older lady sacked out on the couch in the lobby. They were all gathered around the desk and lobby. Perhaps they were just friends passing through---however I think not as some kept going behind the front desk. read more
