Be very careful at this property and whatever you do, do not leave any valuables behind. I'm a frequent traveler, Lifetime Diamond with Hilton, and recently switched to Marriott to earn a similar status. I stayed there on Tuesday night of this week and left a leather toiletry bag, with expensive components for my Cochlear Implant, my electric toothbrush, and a VERY expensive bottle of Gucci Cologne in my bag. It was zipped up, weighed 3-4 lbs and was on the vanity and Housekeeping claims they never found it. This is impossible, as they could not clean the vanity without moving it. It is obvious that there is a thief in the Housekeeping Team and I intend to file a police report to found out WHO. When I called, I asked the front desk that IF Housekeeping finds something of value, like a Leather Bag, why they would not contact the person they KNOW stayed there as my Bonvoy Profile has all of my contact info. She said that was normal policy, but obviously something in the bag interested the in-house thief. Marriott should be ashamed of this situation, as I have NEVER had this with a Hilton property. I expect that the Elizabethtown Police will help get to the bottom of this. If not, I am DONE with Marriott!!! I will go back to Hilton in a heartbeat. I expect to either get my bag back or get fully reimbursed. Be careful when staying at this property!! It's conveniently located off I-65 and is reasonably priced. The fitness center is nice. The rooms aren't the latest and greatest but they are functional and there is still Netflix on the TV. Parking is convenient as well. The only issue I had was that the breakfast is like the comedian that jokes that whatever time you came by, it just ended. I think it ends at 9am with a wind-down before that which is a little early on a Saturday. read more

Very nicely renovated with a pleasing aesthetic of blues, browns, and greys. A well stocked breakfast but it's only open 2 hours daily. Very clean. This is the first place I've stayed at in the price range post covid that actually seems to vacuum the hallway carpet. Air conditioning worked great and was fairly quiet. Big televisions. Comfortable firm but not too firm bed. The sheets aren't the plastic feeling sweaty synthetic stuff they Holiday Inn express uses lately which is great. read more

Stayed here for a 3 night stay, staff is really friendly. Check in was easy and fast. The room was clean with the exception of the mini fridge, it is in need of a serious defrosting and cleaning . It has the standard breakfast as most other hotels. There is a variety of places to dine within walking distance or short drives for local establishments. Easy drive to and from Louisville, Fort Knox and other points of interest. read more

Serviceable roadside Fairfield, it fit my needs (government rate) for a couple of days. No refrigerator and microwave oven. I asked and they were able to provide a mini-refrigerator. For the weekend, the fresh fruit on the breakfast line seem to run out a little quickly. The rooms were on the small side and layout according to an old (and smaller) Fairfield schematic. A bit short on outlets to power my electronics. I'm glad I brought two power strips. Repeat and recommend with caveats. read more

Ok stay. Hotel seems as though it was old and somewhat worn and a surface renovation was done. Looks fairly nice but still has air of being older. ADA compliance wasn't to code. The handicap parking spaces were at the end of the lot and the sidewalk was somewhat steep. The lobby was crowded with furniture which created limited pathways for wheelchair users (& everyone actually). The front desk staff were friendly and pleasant. The ADA room seemed somewhat small & tight; bathroom with roll in shower was ok. Nice tile work in shower but because of wall to prevent splash would not be easy to use. Overall the room would probably not work for someone with more limited mobility. Breakfast was typical - good choices of cereals, yogurts, eggs, etc. Parking lot needs more lighting. Very dark even at front end of hotel building. read more

Let me start with the good, because if your like me, you read the first few sentences and then move on to the next review... They DO NOT have low flow shower heads and it's a decent place to sleep. Now, if you are bougie, this is not the place for you. Keep driving! It's the type of hotel that if you look for something to complain about - you will find it. The room had an odd smell when you walked in, it's older and could be cleaner. The hotel dates itself (quickly). You say "hey, this is nice enough!" and then the 1970's decor slaps you right in the face! Think about the 5 biggest and boldest colors in your mind... got them? Okay, now imagine those colors whirled and swirled together and thrown up on a sofa cushion. Yep - it's that bad. Time for an update, Marriott! The room itself was fine, again, don't look for things or you will find them. I did check for bed bugs, negative. There was crust on my alarm clock - I'm in no danger of getting pregnant, so we are okay again. There was that red mildew mold mess on the tub, but the steam from the hot shower just made it practically invisible. The staff was really nice, and hey, that's half the battle. All in, it's a total 3 stars. Sadly, I have stayed in worse. If I was traveling through here again, I wouldn't think twice about staying again. If you are drunk, do not look at the decor, as it could upset your stomach. I'm a brand snob and really love Marriott. I hate that I used my free anniversary hotel night here, but that shouldn't be a reflection of the hotel. Safe travels, friend! read more

I was in E-town for a conference this past week and stayed at this Hotel as it was close to the CVB, where the event was. The room was clean, comfortable and very inviting. There was a flat screen tv (which was great because I could hook my roku up) but no microwave or fridge. The bed was comfortable, and water pressure was great. Wifi, however, was marginally better than dialup and I achieved greater speeds tethering through my phone. The staff, at least during my brief interactions with them, were friendly and prompt. Check-in was fast and easy. If you smoke, be prepared to walk outside as this is a completely non-smoking property read more

We stayed here from Thursday, September 21 through Friday morning September 22, 2017. When we arrived around midnight, the front desk attendant was very nice and welcomed us. I gave him my name and he looked at my reservation and welcome me as a platinum elite guest. He checked me in very quickly and directed me to the elevator for our third floor room. The hotel has three floors. The only room options include one king or two doubles. There is no smoking on any Marriott property in the US or Canada according to the guy on the phone who we made the reservation with. There was no smoke and smell inside the hotel however, there was a noticeable odor of unknown origin. The smell was not unbearable so we did not complain. When we got to our room 330, the smell was similar to dog urine that have been previously cleaned. The order was not very strong but it was slightly noticeable. We only needed one night to stay and that was after midnight so we figured we would just go to sleep and not worry about it. Not surprisingly, when we woke up the smell was gone (I'm sure we just got used to it). The staff were friendly, the room temperature and beds were very comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was also suitable for a pre-trip meal. I can't say that we would most definitely come back however, if we needed a place to stay, we probably would. read more

Stayed here for a week and here are my points. 1) Staff very friendly, Donnie was great everyday. 2) Rooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves. Donnie found one for our family though for the week. 3) Pool depth is 3-5 ft and small. They also have a small hot tub that bubbles with a 15 min timer. They keep plenty of chairs and towels for guests poolside at all times. 4) cookies and coffee always available at the front desk! 5) Breakfast from 0630-0930, good variety between hot and cold basics. Turkey alternative always available. 6) Several restaurants within walking distance with coupons for them at the front desk. 7) They had an extra phone cord for guests. 8) Older building, and one elevator. Summary: with all the little issues here and there, they more then make up for it with an outstanding staff who are courteous and attentive. read more

This place is completely underwhelming, completely forgettable, comme ci comme ça...The only reason I am writing this review is to warn people that there is NO HOT TUB, which was extremely disappointing because the falsely advertised hot tub was the deciding factor in choosing this mundane accommodation. It is also worth noting the pool has a 5 PERSON LIMIT; only 5 people are allowed in the pool at once!!! This is a testament to how incredibly small the pool is; what were they thinking when they built this?!? The approximate dimensions were estimated to be 20'x8'; who was this built for?!? Overall, this hotel does NOT measure up to the above average standards of most Fairfield Inn and Suites, but it is acceptable for a short stay. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm a Hilton girl through and through. I'm Hilton Diamond, and I'm lowly silver over at Marriott, so normally this hotel wouldn't even register on my radar. Well, this particular location of the Fairfield Inn sways me over to a Marriott property every time. It is bright, clean and well-maintained. They have a great selection of foods at breakfast- yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, waffles- I could keep going, but you probably know what you like. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The last time I was there the guy at the front desk told me he was "Fantastic!" and when I said "Oh, I wish I was too." He asked if there was anything he could do to help make my day more fantastic- and seemed to genuinely care. The hotel is located close to several restaurants and gas stations. It's RIGHT off the highway exit and easy to find. Fairfield Inns, in my opinion, are generally the low man on the totem pole- equivalent to a Motel 6 in my mind. I will almost always avoid this chain. However, the first time I stayed at this location- I was traveling late in the evening and ended up having to re-book the hotel I'd previously been booked to stay at in another city. I ended up here, and I was dreading it, but they really changed my mind! I doubt I'll have much cause to stop through Elizabethtown, KY in the future, but I know that if I do, I will most definitely be staying at this Fairfield Inn. read more

Pool is freezing - I mean BRRRR! Do these people need a thermometer? And when you get out of the freezing pool, they've already taken up the coffee. What happened to Marriott having coffee all day? Last week my family and I traveled from Southern California to Elizabethtown Kentucky to visit family and we stayed at the Fairfield Inn Marriott in E-Town for the entire week. I have to tell you that we were very impressed. The rooms were spacious, very clean and the staff was super friendly. We enjoyed the indoor pool with the grandchildren and everyone was very accomodating. I won't be staying anywhere else when i visit next. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. I give it a 5 out of 5 Stars! Thank you Susan B. read more

Where do I start? I'm in a standard room, no upgrade for Platinum Elite members? Front desk verified I'm Platinum Elite upon check in. No offer to upgrade, discount rate, etc. The room is nasty! Stains on curtains, 2 bath towels were stained, glad I only needed one! Odor in the room? Not sure what it is? I Lysol bombed the room, odor came back. Sinks super slow draining.. Advised the front desk when leaving 1st morn. That evening when get back. Sinks still clogged. Maint tells me they went to wrong room and did best they could on 2nd visit when I went to gym to try cardio. Assured me that he'll take it apart the next day and fix it while I'm out. I advised him I check out tomorrow thank god! No offer to change rooms! See a pattern.. Don't stay here!!!! The gym, nasty odor! Machines are older than dirt! Don't feel safe. The bike seat takes work to adjust to say the least. Don't stay here! What's happened to Marriott? They "used" to be great hotels? FYI. I cover 4 1/2 states and so glad for Hilton's... I've had an email from customer service after this review offering me 20,000 points... I stated I'd prefer 40,000. They never responded nor credited me anything. Most times its hard to go wrong with a Marriott branded hotel. Fairfield in Etown wasn't an exception. Checked in by phone late on Friday night and it was a simple process. Rooms and lobby were pretty nice and the continental breakfast was a help for busy mornings when we had to leave early. The staff was helpful when we had a mixup on the length of stay. The manager handled it all by phone and was very gracious. Would definitely stay here again while in town. read more

I stayed here overnight on a trip across the country. The overall experience was nice. Good service, nice clean rooms and bathrooms, good facilities (gym, pool, hot tub). The hotel is located close to a few restaurants. All but one were empty, with Texas Roadhouse being packed with locals and travelers. I would stay here again in the future. read more

In an area with a myriad of hotel choices, we opted to pay slightly more to stay here as in the past Fairfield Inns are generally good. We were traveling with pies that needed refrigeration and had no problems with all previous hotels on the route from CT to TX having fridges. Not only was there no fridge in the room but the night desk was unhelpful. "Its Inn and Suites, and you are in the Inn part" I've stayed in over 100 of these "Inn and Suites" a year, and the possibility that each time I've "lucked out" and happened to hit the "suite lottery" is unlikely. On principle decided not to pay an additional $50 to switch to a room with a fridge, since we were already paying 40% more to stay here compared to other hotels nearby. Putting the pies in the car as its 32 degrees outside and hoping to avoid the food poisoning lottery. Want to add that the rack price on the door is $350. As we were putting the pies in the car the night clerk said "this IS the budget Marriott." Add that to ridiculous climate non-control in the room-if you wanted to hve air in the room, you couldn't use the blackout curtains since it kept blowing them up, so got not a bit of sleep due to security light flickering -like some kind of film noir prison scene-- in my face. Came down the next morning exhausted and with a 15 hour drive ahead- at 9:55, to find the breakfast (that ended at 10 am) completely put away. Next time, pay $50 less and get amenities, sleep and breakfast at the "upscale" La Q*inta. read more

This hotel is in major need of being completely renovated...or at least repaired. It's not like there's holes in the walls or anything, but there's a lot of small things that have been neglected. For example, the power outlets [what few there are] are so old that plugs don't work unless positioned just right, and the shower-head bracket was ready to fall off the wall. Also, for the high price I was charged, you'd think that they'd offer a better breakfast. I know that the bacon was cooked in a microwave, but I think the eggs were too. Maybe they don't try because there's a couple of breakfast restaurants close by. read more

Ugh!! Trashy people, rude and argumentive desk workers. After over 600 nights with Marriott's over the last 2 years, this is only the second time I have submitted a Yelp compaint. This place serves the worst breakfast I have ever tasted. The Eggs were like rubber, and I had to spit out every bite of bacon as it was not chewable and saltier than the oceans. The waffle dough was empty, the plastic forks were dirty... and on and on... I had to eat at Crackerbarrel down the road. I mentioned something about it to the front desk in a nice way but they argued with me and said their breakfast was the best it had ever been over the years. YIKES....that they think that, and Yikes that their response was to fight with me. I'll pitch a tent before I come back here. read more
