Randall works at the customer service desk, however he needs a customer service professional attitude and behavior. The cashier asked him for help with a coupon I wanted to use. He came to the register and said, "If the register doesn't take it I don't know what to tell you, there is nothing I can do about it." I get these coupons from a manufacturer monthly because I buy over fifty of one of their items monthly. I told Randall, I used the same coupons last month and it worked fine. He repeated, not making eye contact with me EVER, "I don't know what to tell you if the register doesn't take it." And walked off. Still, he made no eye contact with me, and he never addressed me, he talked to the cashier the entire time. He made it clear, he was not talking to me. Customer Service means I will help the Customer who needs to be serviced, so address the customer professionally, He was Rude and not professional.

Obviously there's no actual pharmacy here since it's on the river level with no access to street parking. It's not even your standard CVS. Sure, they have the basics like snacks, cosmetics, etc, but what tickled me were the ducky plushies in cowboy and beaver hats. There are also post cards and $20 phone chargers, one of which I needed since I accidentally left mine at the hotel. Would I come here to buy anything otherwise? Probably not, but it was certainly worth checking out. And the cashier was also very nice. She did ask if I have a phone number with CVS (I haven't for several years now. I wonder if they ever actually close those years old inactive accounts). She also allowed me to simply use the reusable bag from the Alamo we already had with us to save the trouble. Oh and an entire aisle dedicated to Texas and San Antonio. It was a fun time. Also, the shelves could probably stand to be wiped down more. Lots of dust. And what's this? No kitty cats to greet me? Now I'm sad. :( I'd come back just to see them, and they're good for keeping rodents away. So for the cat haters out there, bear in mind they're smarter than many give them credit for as they hunt mice and birds to keep the river walk free of infestations.

A few weeks later they solved another problem for me with a special formulation of magnesium prescribed by my doctor in a lower dose than I could find elsewhere (including Whole Foods Market). It was just what the doctor had ordered, and I didn't have to split pills and worry if I should have. And, to think I almost didn't go here because I'd sized them up as an overpriced, small town shop. You can pay less, and you can guess at what you need at the big box stores, but there is a value in knowledge and service. As far as pricing goes, I've actually priced the identical products at a holistic pharmacy chain in Austin and found I would've wasted the dollar or so savings in gas alone. Although I don't have any experience with their pharmacy, I understand they compound prescriptions. Last time I tried doing that with their three letter competitor, I got lost in the shuffle somewhere in San Antonio and wound up waiting 5 days for my medication. They did have several options for charging blocks but I ended up getting a power bank so I could charge my phone while walking around. The more important thing: the staff that work here: they're quick, knowledgeable, diligent, and have been incredibly ideal from the get go. The brains of this operation is Maily Vo, the lead pharmacist. She provides outstanding service and is not about wasting anyone's time. This place fills prescriptions within the same hour / day and they're so good about explaining how to utilize the drugs / devices. Despite crowds forming often here (#2), I'm really only here for a few minutes at a time due to their efficient work. The pharm techs that work here are also fabulous and friendly. Also, it's been a breeze scheduling shots here. I managed to score a flu shot as well as a COVID booster after scheduling everything online. The process went off without a hitch and I would do it again here in a heartbeat. No one likes being sick, but I always look forward to copping some serious drugs from here.
