The reviews, both on Yelp and from my parents, don't lie. I was so happy that I ended up here and not at one of the other neighboring B&Bs. My favorite part was legit the afternoon popcorn and cookies. SO YUMMY! Breakfast was great too with an amazing view. I only wish that we were there longer so we could take advantage of the proprietor's knowledge of the area and get some recommendations of things to do. We were so tired from new parent life that we basically just napped the weekend away, but it was still a lovely place to do that.

Service, as people have said, was absolutely fantastic and incredibly accommodating, so I would recommend it IF you know what to expect going in, which is what you'd imagine from the price but with great service and a well-loved family business atmosphere.

Pets are allowed.There is an area where children can play. The owner,Linda, was very welcoming. The motel is centrally located to many activities. It is on Red Arrow Highway. Vinnie and Peggy, the owners, greeted us and were very friendly and chatty. It had more of a bed and breakfast feel than hotel. The rooms were clean and good sized, had a little bar to sit at, a table, nice big bed with storage drawers underneath. They had a hot tub, which even though it closed at 8pm, the owners let us hop in there anyways after the wedding. Very quite and quaint. We had a patio, but not much of a view - just some cows and wild turkeys roaming around. No poop smell tho, ha! They offered somewhat of a continental breakfast, but other than that, just carry out menus for the area. I would definitely stay again, it was a cute place and good for the money.

We have 4 people in the room and they keep leaving only 3 big towels. Not sure what the reason is. The breakfast is standard. Although the mini waffle maker is very neat. Eggs sometimes get replenished sometimes not. There's one set of laundry machines cost $2 each in quarters. We booked here because of the review for Hampton inn across the street is terrifying (bed bugs). However I can't recommend this hotel. Not sure any other hotels in the area is any better. Maybe we should stay a bit further out next time.

Housekeeping and front desk staff were polite and helpful. I often saw housekeeping cleaning around the hotel, from restrooms to even signs. I appreciate that the hotel appeared clean and well-maintained. My room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small and a bit cramped, but it was fine for just me. Guests can conveniently park in the parking garage located across the street, which is connected to the hotel by a skywalk. You can use your hotel key to enter and exit the parking garage. Additionally, there is a box for dropping off your keys upon departure from the parking garage. It is expensive unless you get a group rate discount. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and thought the facilities were good for a conference, the staff were professional, and the location was great. It is an ideal location for anyone visiting Kalamazoo.

My only tiny complaint is that the ballroom on the first floor was a bit cold - I didn't notice it as much yesterday, but today I'm wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and no sweater and I'm cold. (May go retrieve my coat from the coat check!) Fun story, I also stayed at this hotel about 20 years ago when I took the test for the WMU medallion scholarship (circa late 2004/early 2005, I believe) and I remember thinking the rooms were nice then, too. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations also, I believe their restaurant is under construction but there's still a restaurant option open. The beds were fine enough that I slept on one for two nights and rather than have the housekeeping come in, I simply switched to the other for the other two nights. Breakfast was standard Hampton. Eggs or a pre-made omelet of some sort, a breakfast meat, breads for toasting, yogurts, fruit, juices and some pastries. The breakfast area was clean. Other than sharing a small plaza with a Denny's and a gas station/pizza place, there is nothing within walking distance. There is lots in downtown Marshall that's only a mile or two away.
