Me and my friends got into our room we were supposed to have 2 queen size beds but instead we got one king size bed with a pullout couch that folds up on you while ur sleeping kinda annoying since there was 4 of us but then we looked up and black mold everywhere and it smelt like someone had smoked in there and it smelled like someone smoked pot in the lobby and of course when it was hot a humid out our air conditioner was broken so we were all hot at night trying to share a king size bed with no ac and then what was just disgusting is that their was blood ALL over the sheets and lots of brown stains and lots of wet towels please learn how to clean very dirty in room read more

Whew, well we stopped here as it was close to midway on our journey back to Texas, I had booked through Expedia and while cozy enough it had some issues. The toilet was not attached very well to the floor but as we had only one night I let it go. Place was ok but not great, for the price it's fine. Bathroom kind of small, bed was ok. Mostly clean. Yet another place without game show network which is odd. It is older in a place with several newer places at comparative prices. I just took this one as it came up first and best deal on Expedia. Plus side, they didn't steal money from me like the previous hotel still has. The breakfast was decent. Good OJ, ok eggs, sausage is what I had. Wife says it was satisfactory. Exactly as expected with no surprises or extras. Little tip, the book in the room that talks about breakfast lists coffee, donuts, and juice making it seem like that's all they had. They have eggs, biscuits, oatmeal etc, not sure why they downplay it but there you go. For a one night stay, not a bad place or if your on a budget it works. Longer stays I would go elsewhere. read more

Upon checking in, I noticed a urine stain on the toilet. I chalked it up to poor cleaning/lack of detail and decided not to contact the front desk. I used antibacterial wipes to clean/wipe down the bathroom instead. After talking to my husband for the night, I got ready for bed only to find the cologne and body odor of the previous guest. I pulled back the sheets to find housekeeping had simply put the top covers back on the bed. I called down and was told I could get fresh linen. Needless to say, I HAD TO MAKE MY OWN BED. Had I not been so tired. I would have checked out and gone somewhere else. I changed the sheets and one pillow. Attached is a pic of the dirty linen. Very clean and felt safe. Staff efficient and friendly. Bed & pillows comfy, towels & bedding fresh & white. Fridge clean & cold. Microwave & coffee maker with coffee & tea. Hairdryer in room too. TV pic good with lots of channels. Some highway noise, it didn't keep us awake. Shower had curved rod giving lots of room. We were on 2nd floor facing behind hotel. AC was a bit noisy, counter top needed polished & sealed. Breakfast very good - eggs, waffle, fresh coffee. As a 2 star type hotel, it really was great. Had it been updated, it would have cost more. This hotel was dirty! Do not stay here. The staff was kind but the house keeping staff needs to be fired. I have a one year old child who isn't walking yet so standing baths are impossible. I always clean hotel tubs before bathing our son but this bathtub was disgusting. Pictured below are the rags on the side of the tub from me cleaning it. This isn't from the edges of the tub-this is from the bottom of the tub where you put your rear-disgusting! Needless to say-our little boy did not get a bath last night. I thought about bathing him in the sink but it was equally as dirty as the tub. We only decided to go ahead and stay because it was late and we needed a place to rest. There was also a gum rapper in the sheets on the bed. There was a long black hair on the toilet seat. There was poop around the inside rim of the toilet. So gross! We did not let our little one crawl on the floor-we did not walk barefoot at all. We told the front desk staff this morning about everything. They apologized and we're kind but did not offer to refund any money. I appreciate their kindness but I thought the experience deserved more than an apology. Hey on April 24th I made a reservation at this comfort in. I tried to cancel it on the 25th about noon or 11 in the morning, the staff was unable to cancel it and then I had to recall the owner in the morning and she still refused to cancel it. She said the rules are there for reason I told her it was an emergency and everything but she didn't care then a month later I get the charge on my credit card for $114.25 for hotel I never stayed in, so i tried to put a review on the site when they werent able to do that either cuz she wouldn't send me a review. Hotels this hotel should not be on Choice Hotels it's substandard and the service is not what I would recommend for Choice Hotels thank you. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in . It' wasn't clean and none of the amenities are available. Me and my husband drove in from Chicago. Checked in on a Friday morning and was kicked out on a Saturday . We reserved the room until Sunday Morning. Me and my husband left out of the room Saturday morning and came back and the house keeper had cleaned our room but our belongings were not there. We proceeded down stairs to the front desk and the lady was rude and our belongings were in a bin. They over booked so they needed our room and we were kicked out . I was upset and some of my belongings were missing. The front desk Lady called her boss and he said that we only booked the room for one night but we were charged for two nights. I proceeded to give the front desk lady her key and she said I try to throw the key at her and she called the police. We gathered our belongings out of the bin and left . The front desk attendant racially profiled me and treated me and my husband unfairly . Please do not stay at this hotel it's terrible. I've never been treated so poorly. read more

I would rate the staff a 0 if I could. So long story short, I stayed there with my boyfriend. The receptionist working at the front desk was Rachel. Couple months later my boyfriend ended up back there for work. Same receptionist, Rachel, was working again and went up to his room and fucked him. Very unethical of her, dont you think? We were not able to reach this hotel we had reserved on our way to TX because my husband fell and we had a very late start on our trip from Indiana. I called the hotel around 8 pm when it became very evident that we would not reach our destination that night. I was told by the person answering the phone that I would have to call a manager in the morning. So basically I got charged for a room I was not able to use. I will make sure we won't stop at this hotel next time we travel if that is the way they treat customer. read more

I don't agree with the negative reviews I am reading here. We have family here in Marion, so we have stayed here many times. This is our hotel of choice when we visit from out of town. The staff is friendly, the room is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is very generous: Fluffy eggs, bacon/sausage, biscuits, gravy, cereal, waffles, all kinds of bread and pastries, plus excellent coffee. I had the pleasure to stay at this Comfort Inn while attending a family memorial over 2 days. I found the staff to be very courteous and helpful, professional in appearance and knowledgeable of local eating establishments. Their free breakfast was delicious, ample and the attendant continuously ensured the serving area and tables were cleaned. The food was fresh and in abundant supply. The room was more than sufficient without the crowding of furniture I have seen in other hotels. The cleanliness of the room and public areas was beyond reproach reflecting attention to detail in every aspect. No, I neither own nor am employed by this Comfort Inn, I just believe a a very positive review is required when the staff and facilities are way above the norm. read more

Comfortable hotel- but I'm going to go on a little rant about this chain. In the breakfast area there are recyclable cups- I got pumped about that because at the last comfort inn I stayed at they were styrofoam. Except there was no recycling bin- I asked the lady at the front desk if they had a recycling bin- she said no, they only get what the company sends them. So if you're going to market "please recycle!" On your cups please have a place to actually recycle them. Also, no more styrofoam plates- styrofoam sucks. Having worked near the ocean and having seen the 1000s of tiny bits of styrofoam wash up on the small stretch of beach where I worked- I now have a vendetta against styrofoam. read more

Very friendly check in staff. Dinah was super sweet. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows abundant. The room had no smells. A small fridge and microwave and coffee pot in room. I stayed at the Comfort Inn on the night of Tuesday, February 26th, 2018 to Wednesday, February 27th, 2019. I checked out at 9am. I checked my credit card statement on Sunday, March 3rd, 2019 and noticed a $250 charge from Comfort Inn which was odd because I paid for my room through Hotels.com. I contacted Hotels.com to inquire if they knew why and they said they didn't but would contact the hotel. After speaking to the hotel they told me that someone at the desk said it was a note on my account that someone smoked in the room. I don't smoke or own pets which is why I choose certain hotels which prohibit it. He found it odd also that no one contacted me about it or they didn't even send a receipt or any type of correspondence. He provided me with the Managers name and told me to call. I contacted the Comfort Inn on Tuesday, March 5th, 2018 at 1:03pm. I spoke with manager Wendy Shick. She said that someone smelled something in the room and that's why they charged me. She said they had no other proof just that someone smelled something. I asked why no one contacted me in anyway especially if they were charging my card. She wasn't the one who went to the room so she doesn't know. I wasn't provided a receipt or anything. When I asked to speak to her manager Sajan Bhakta she said he wasnt in, he didn't have a direct line or voicemail, no email, and no one knew when he comes in or leaves. She would leave him a note and that's all they can do. I still have yet to hear anything from him or anyone else. If I hadn't checked my credit card statement I would have gotten stolen from and didn't even know it. That's extremely upsetting. read more

This review is being written by the account holder's wife. I am writing this review after a very rough 48 hours. I was in Memphis for some doctor appointments with my five year old daughter. We pulled off of I55 at exit 10 for gas and a soda. When I tried to start my van it was dead. Due to issues with towing companies and my roadside assistance company, we sat in the Citgo gas station for over four hours. I called the Comfort Inn and told them I wasn't sure if I was going to need a room, but I didn't want to find out late at night that there were not any rooms available. The front desk was willing to hold a room for us. When we finally arrived, they were very understanding and friendly. They didn't have any first floor rooms available (my five year old was a little wired after sitting in a gas station for four hours with no way to run off energy) and I didn't want to be above another room where we might disturb those beneath us. So, they put us above the vending/kitchen area. They also gave us a late check-out because we were waiting on our van to be repaired. The room was very clean. There was a small refrigerator, in-room coffee pot and lots of tables/storage space. The beds were so comfortable. There were outlets on the top of the nightstand which is ALWAYS a plus. The only negatives I have to say about this hotel was the bathroom door in our room had "issues" closing. It may have just been hung wrong? I could get it to close, it just wasn't square. The other issue was a large security light outside our window. However the drapes closed well enough to block out most of its light. We did not have any "smoke" smell in our room thankfully. That is an issue for us Northerners who are used to no smoking in all buildings. However maybe because there were no rooms below ours we didn't have that issue? If cigarette smoke is a huge issue for you, maybe ask for a room above the vending/laundry area? Being in a smaller town with only a few hotels, I was expecting a lesser maintained hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel seemed well maintained and fresh. Checked into this hotel around midnight after 11 hours of driving, and upon opening the door to the non smoking room I was immediately hit in the face with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. The carpet was damp, and so was the bedding. The a/c unit had about 3inches of something white growing on it and all around the tall plastic piece that points the air directly at the bed was black mold. After finally falling asleep I was woken up around 6am to ants crawling on me in bed, and on the nightstand. I gathered my belongings and checked out. Entirely too tired with another 6 hour drive ahead of me. I didn't have time or patience to complain at checkout. Instead I made the mistake of calling the next day to try to get some sort of refund, and the manager Wendy at the hotel called me a liar..said my "story was unbelievable." (even though i have pictures) and refused to provide any type of customer service. I was denied the name of anyone else to talk to. This was not a comfortable experience, please book somewhere else because this place isn't worth $100+ a night. read more

Would NOT stay at again. 1) This hotel is a smoking hotel. Even the "non-smoking" rooms are on a floor with smoking rooms. The air vents and even the water smells of smoke. 2) The workout equipment is old and cheap. It is also in a tiny room with no air conditioning. 2) The breakfast is terrible. And only served from 6-9am even on the weekends. 3) The towels are thin and rough on the skin. 4) I didn't have maid service during my 3 night stay because the "housemaid staff had left for the day" .... by 1 PM. 5) It is right off the highway and the traffic is quiet, however the walls are thin so you will hear all of your neighbors. read more

$139 per night and we asked for linen for the pull out and was given a very rough blanket and two flat sheets (one of which was stained), had to ask for pillows as well. They had no mattress pad or fitted sheets. The mattress on the pull out was very thin with springs that are felt when sitting/lying on it. Television gets very few channels. Went to the pool and there were three men drinking whiskey and smoking cigarettes at this "100% smoke free" establishment. Mosquito infested area at pool. Pool very dirty and many june bugs floating througout. Asthetics need updated badly. Door had peeling wood and multiple scratch marks. Carpet on floor was wet which was gross. Just had an overall dirty appearance. Low income housing borders the hotel on the back side of the hotel. Will want to arrive early if you come at all in order to park under lights. Couldn't wait to get out of this place the next morning. read more
