Worst pain of my life. They injected a huge amount of numbing medicine in the roof of my mouth which separated the layers of skin creating an excruciating pain experience. I should have left then but I waited till the pain subsided and continued. During the work on the tooth needing attention, they filed down a filling on a different tooth that they were not asked to touch and without my consent. The filling fell apart that afternoon. It was a horrific experience. I refused to pay explaining why. They did not care and turned me over to collections. I paid the collections company while being a bit satisfied that the horrible Dental office did not receive full compensation for their awful services. read more

Dr. Haschke and everyone involved at this office do a tremendous job. They are all very kind and professional and treated me, a medicaid patient, with dignity and respect. My teeth were in terrible condition and they were able to save many of them and get my smile back and i am very grateful for the time and effort it took to repair them. The ladies up front are absolutely rude, when I called they have no idea what is going on as far as scheduling or any procedures or billing I used to work at a dental office and my mother is in the industry as well. I sat in the chair for over an hour and a half. The X-ray machine wasn't even working I watched the screen (again used to work in the industry). I sat in the chair alone for for over an hour for him to take 5 minutes poking at me and referring me to a periodontist for a gum graft. Didn't even get the cleaning I paid and scheduled for. I have had the abscessed tooth root canaled and all is well, but as I suspected, the other tooth Comfort Dental did a filling on ALSO needs to be root canaled. 2 teeth, 2 fillings, less than a year later... 2 root canals. Went in for five cavities. The day of when I got home the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep, it's been three weeks and I'm still not able to eat on my right side of my mouth. I went in with no pain at all and was told that the cavities were "not that deep." Afterwards I went to another dentist and got informed that the fillings were about as close to the root as you can get and both my molars on the bottom right might need root canal's. I live out of town and was not a current patient, but when I broke a tooth while visiting Fort Collins, they got me in and out with a crown in less than a week. I wrote a review in 2019 and just wanted to say I am still going to see Dr. Jaime Fillmore (Comfort Dental, on Lemay Ave in Fort Collins) and she and her staff are still taking excellent care of me and my teeth. I recently went in for a new night guard (mine was 15 years old and no longer fit my teeth) and, as usual, scheduling, dental assistants and Dr. Fillmore, all took care of me professionally and efficiently. I scheduled an appointment and told the receptionist I had dental work done somewhere else a few months ago, so all I wanted today was my permanent retainer (a metal wire glued to the back of my teeth) removed and a small hole in my tooth (not a cavity) filled in. I sat for 30 minutes in the waiting room and then went to sit with Mr. Haschke in a private room. He started talking about doing a cleaning and X-rays, and I reiterated what I wanted done today. He told me dentists never remove the wires, only an orthodontist can, but he still needed to do an X-ray (for some reason?). I said a dentist recently removed my friend's retainer, so I would like mine off too. I keep getting cavities and plaque around the retainer because my teeth shifted and I cannot floss between the teeth anymore. Once again he said I should do an X-ray and then he'd just remove the cavities and the plaque (obviously trying to get a repeat customer and more money). Again, I said I didn't want that because I don't want this repeating problem anymore, I just want the retainer taken off so I can better care for my teeth. He said, and I quote, "I'm the dentist and I've been doing this for 25 years, so just do what I say." Ew?? How gross and unprovoked. If you don't know how to do something/ just don't want to, you can say that without being a creep. I asked if he would still fill the hole in my tooth, and he said he needed an X-ray of the retainer. I said the two were not related, the hole is on a top tooth and the retainer is on the bottom. I said I'm not doing an X-ray while I'm here since I just had one done 4 months ago, and he asked what I wanted to do. I said I would just go since he wouldn't do either of the things I said I needed when I scheduled. It's super awesome that my husband had to take off of work to be with our kids so I could go here. A few days later I went to another dentist, not an orthodontist, and she happily removed my retainer (which took about 3 whole minutes) and filled the hole. She even recommends most adults getting the retainer removed since they are notorious for causing plaque and cavities. Save your time and money and go somewhere else that has competent workers and actually cares about assisting their patients. read more

I am thankful to be a dental patient with Comfort Dental in Fort Collins, CO. I had been away for a few years, and this past year have been in to have some fillings and two molars removed. I am more than pleased with the professionalism of the entire office, and their care to me. Everyone on the crew is knowledgeable and able to answer questions. This dental center seemed a lot different than previous dentists I have been to. I went here asking for a cleaning and knowing full well I needed one since it was a few years since I had a good cleaning. I was taken into an office and consulted with the dentist where she had to see if I really needed a cleaning. Hmmmm. Ok. I was part time with my work for those couple of years and knew that she would say I needed one. I had no dental benefits at this time so it would be obvious, right? I had the assistant do X-Rays on me which was a kind of experience I never had before. Sure taking dental X-Rays can be uncomfortable and I frequently gag during this procedure but the devices that were used were REALLY uncomfortable, almost painful. They put big plastic things in my mouth and in all kinds of crazy angles. I gagged like a madman and the assistant said that she never had this much trouble before. Once again, hmmmm. I felt Malcolm McDowell in a Clockwork Orange where he is being "conditioned" to be a benign member of society with eye clamps on his eyes during his "treatments" only these devices were for my mouth. They even put drops in my mouth to stop the gagging, didn't work. I am not normally scared of the dentist or uncomfortable but this experience bordered on unpleasant. I am not petrified of the dentist because of this, not like my aunt who said that she would rather have a baby than go to the dentist. The dentist looked at my X-Rays and said that I had no cavities but I do indeed need a cleaning. Hmmm, first I heard of it. She wanted to make two separate appointments because some deep gum cleaning needed to be done. I did not make any more appointments here because of the upcoming move and a change in job but it seemed really out of the ordinary to me with this dental visit. My insurance covered half and the rest was on a special so the X-Rays were free. Thank goodness for small blessings. read more

Please don't get your dentures here! I got my dentures here two years ago the dentist that I would see multiple when it adjust them to make them fit better. Every time I'd ask about it I was told implants was my only solution for $30, 000. after 2 years and trying with them I finally went to the low income clinic in my neighborhood and they feel fabulous 20 minutes it took to fix them. beware because if you use your benefits with them you're out of luck read more

My experiences here have always been good, and it's affordable for those of us without dental insurance. Also-- I have a cap on a front tooth that has been knocked off half a dozen times. Every other dentist I've gone to (one very expensive) put on a cap that didn't last more than a year. I had Comfort Dental put a cap on in 2011 and have had no issue with it sense. read more

I went to this location for an extract,and at the end of the work, when it was time to pay they informed me that my insurance doesn't cover any of it and i am responsible for the $250 bill, and i paid the whole amount, a month lather i got a bill for $43 from them and they said this is the balance due ( and they also billed my insurance and insurance paid $22)and when i called their office and told them that the whole amount suppose to be $250 they said the person who told you that made a mistake, if you go there for dental work get the $ amount in writing ahead of time because the people who work there are dishonest. I had tooth pain that was increasing and Comfort Dental got me in quickly. The x-ray showed an abcess in a tooth that had a root canal somewhere else. Dr. H referred me to an excellent endodontic office and gave me an antibiotic prescription immediately. When the root canal was done, I went back and got my permanent filling and a thorough exam. I went here because I didn't have dental insurance but never again!! Dr. Fillmore was very friendly but Dr. Haschke in my opinion isn't very professional. I felt he had a bad attitude towards me when I started asking questions about what was going on and what it could be. I ended up going to a different dentist to fix the filing they did. What a wonderful dentist! Dr. Fillmore of the Fort Collins Colorado office took great care of me while I had two big bridges made. Over a period of almost a year, she guided me through every step, explaining what would happen at each. Dr. Fillmore is very personable and never seemed rushed. A big shout-out to her staff, too! From the person doing the detailed fittings to the person setting the appointments for me. Dr. Hashke provides the lowest quality of patient care of any dental or medical professional I have ever visited. I had to get a crown a while back. At the time, my dentist was Dr. Fillmore. I thought she provided a high standard of care and I mostly felt at ease when I had to get a crown. She told me that there was a 50/50 chance it would become infected since the cavity had gone so deep. The crown that they put in had to be ground down so much that it hardly resembled a healthy tooth. It also ended up with a sharp corner on it and it about 2-3mm out of alignment with my other teeth. Then, I mostly shrugged it off because I had dual coverage and didn't have to pay out of pocket. A year later, I got Dr. Hashke for a cleaning and a checkup. I told him that the crown was becoming extremely sensitive to cold and pressure. He refused to believe me and said it was due to a cavity that was right next to it. Even after he filled that cavity, he didn't listen to me when the discomfort persisted. A year later, it went from sensitive to painfully sensitive, complete with pain in my jaw all the way up to my ear. When I returned to him for a routine cleaning and exam, I still had to try to convince him that there was something wrong with my tooth. He didn't believe that I could actually pinpoint the source of my own pain. On top of that, he was in a hurry and did a quick look in my mouth, hastily and clumsily cleaned a few of my teeth, and said I didn't have any cavities. Even if I don't have any cavities, I think that was the worst care I have ever received from any medical or dental professional. He told me he would refer me to an endodontist for my tooth problem, but he never did, even after I asked him three times in ten minutes for the referral (because he was sure there was nothing wrong with my tooth). I found my own endodontist and did indeed have to get a root canal. Dr. Hashke seemed surprised a few days later when I went in to get a partial denture fitted (another bad story) and a permanent filling put in the canal. Now, about that denture. Again, it looked beautiful when they first brought it out. The first attempt at a fitting, my heart sunk. It was so bulky, I knew they were going to have to shape it down into obscurity. The assistant who started the fitting had to go get another assistant because she was having trouble. She even made an embarassed comment about how she had to seek help from another assistant "every time." Not impressed. They ended up having to grind it down so far that now the inside edges are so high that they scrape my tongue when I talk or eat with it in. Again, Dr. Hashke tried to tell me that I was feeling something other than what I was really feeling and that it was fine. Honestly, the new partial is a mess and I'm going to take it back and ask for a refund. The office staff and assistants are friendly, but Dr. Hashke simply doesn't listen to his patients and that is not okay. I had a procedure done at a different dental office on a Thursday. The dentist thought he would have to end up doing a root canal, but reassured me he would come to the office over the weekend if I had any problems. I called for 2 days as the pain became unbearable, and my calls were never returned. Frustrated to tears, I saw Comfort Dental was open and taking walk-ins until noon on Saturday so I immediately went there. The office staff were so friendly & helpful, and Dr. Fillmore calmed me by reassuring she'd get me fixed up until I could get a root canal. She listened to my concerns, & helped every way she could. Needless to say, I will continue on my care with Dr. Fillmore at comfort dental. I am so impressed with the staff & the level of care I received, especially as a new patient with a dental emergency. My visit to Dr McVeigh today was timely, warmly greeted, seated in dentist's chair shortly thereafter and had x-rays and cleaning well done. During oral examination, Dr McVeigh found a toothpick particle stuck between two teeth and extricated it effortlessly and painlessly. My trip for dental work was awesome and all of my expectations for my visit were met and beyond. Glad to get toothpick removed. Thank you Dr McVeigh and staff, from the time of warm welcome by the receptionist and dental technician Faith taking X-Rays and doing polishing to Dr McVeigh examination removal of toothpick part, all excellent service. I called to make an appointment and they told me they take walk ins between 7:30-11 on Saturday mornings and I didn't need an appointment. When I went in I ended up sitting for 90 mins in the waiting room while others came in for appointments they had made and got in right away! When I mentioned that I was told I didn't need and appointment and that I could get in fast they back tracked on what I as told on the phone. So I recommend making an appointment no matter what they say. read more

Dr. Hashke is the best dentist I've ever had, he really knows his stuff. I've been through a lot of procedures and I know for a fact he's saved my teeth. If you need a "dentist" I would recommend him. If you need an "oral surgeon" then don't make an appointment with a "dentist" and complain about it later when it's your own fault. Once again, if you need a "dentist" then I would highly recommend Dr. Hashke because he provides excellent care, has a great personality (have known him for over 10 years), and puts the patient first. The rest of the staff has always been excellent too, I always get a great cleaning. Comfort Dental is the way to go. read more

When I called in, I was told they take my insurance. I had a painful dental emergency. I got there and they 'checked' my insurance and said that it was 'showing ineligible' and if I was seen that day they wouldn't be able to bill my insurance. I knew my insurance was active because I had just been to the pharmacy and it was active there. I also got home to a letter stating my insurance was active back to April 1. The receptionist told me 'eligibility is day by day'. I have been working in benefits for over 10 years and she was plain wrong. Instead of saying, we will get you in and then iron this out and try billing your insurance(and maybe even taking credit card info in case it didn't work), I felt turned away and in extreme pain. I have extreme dental anxiety and experiences like these just make it worse and worse. If you have this information when someone calls in you should ask them for their insurance information ahead of time so you can check it and the person in pain doesn't have to waste a trip coming there. read more

I hadn't been to a dentist in YEARS! Couldn't afford it and had no dental insurance! I had BAD teeth and went in to see about getting dentures. My dentist was Dr. Adam McVeigh and he was great! I hate the dentist but he made me feel at ease! He was awesome with working to see what would be cheaper, my insurance or their gold plan, did the impressions for dentures. When it came time for the teeth pulling he was awesome! I had them do the top dentures for now and the shots weren't as painful as I expected and I felt NOTHING when he started pulling! I was in the chair for just over an hour. I never had any pain after or since! Can't wait to get the bottoms done now! read more

One and onLy visit to Comfort Dental was a nightmare. First after the injection of pain killer the trainee took an long sharp instrument and punched holes in the upper gum of the upper jaw.Of course I ddin't feel a thing until after the pain killer wore off. [ I DID NOT KNOW THIS PERSON BUT SHE WAS MAD AT THE OFFICE FOR SOMETHING so I because the victim. After the poceedure the two traninee's came in after they removed the decay and informed me they were out of cement filler and asked me to go home and fill it with Petroleum jelly until I could go see my dentist??????? Of course after biting down on food the tooth stuck in the food and hit another tooth and shattered. The Tooth had to be removed by a professional orthodontics. It took him over two hours to remove the pieces in the jaw. Of course threating legal action my money was return but they have friends in town so the story continues to escalate. The next Dentist in Town cost me $2, 217. repair to the nerves, inner face and jaw. If II need Dental Work I go out of Town!!!!! read more

Updated: On the most recent visit, the experience at Comfort Dental redeemed itself a star. My fillings that were causing pain were somewhat adjusted and are not as sensitive now. Dr. McVeigh was not as disagreeable on this visit, so perhaps he was having a bad day before. For the price, if you're getting a simple procedure done, I'd recommend this place. But, for more involved issues, I would go somewhere else. Original Review: This place is awful. Out of two visits I've had here, the second was the worst dental experience I've had in years. Definitely bad enough to prompt a review. The general staff and assistants are very friendly, but Dr. McVeigh is unpleasant. I don't know about the other dentists, but I would say I feel pretty negatively about my interaction with Dr. McVeigh. Today was worse than the average trip to get your teeth drilled. This dentist will seem friendly at first, but can become very rude if frustrated. He angrily blamed me when he made a mistake and he used the wrong size tray for a set of teeth impressions. He later apologized, but there is no reason to be disrespectful to a patient who was trying to cooperate. Aside from his rudeness, the dentist isn't very thorough. I had multiple fillings done a month ago that weren't set correctly and still cause pain when I bite down. Dr. McVeigh stated that he would adjust the fillings today, but forgot about it before he moved on to other patients. *There was also a huge miscommunication about removing my wisdom teeth. I never consented to having all four teeth taken out (only two), but I was scheduled for it nonetheless. I was only able to stop them from removing the teeth after I asked the assistant what was being performed! Anyway. What I'm telling you is this: Go anywhere else to get your teeth fixed. WORST DENTIST EVER!!!!!! Is it possible to be a worse dentist? I would give them 0 stars if I could! I had two root canals done here, with crowns put on, and within a few years both needed to be replaced. Last year, one of the root canals started to hurt. It was excruciating!!! I went to see my dentist then got referred to an endodontist redid my root canal, it turned out that while the nerve was removed, the roots were not treated. My tooth had abscessed!!! Not only that, but the crown wasn't put on correctly!!! Now, one year later, here I am again with the other root canal with an abscess because the crown was not put on correctly. I have never wanted to sue a company before, but I do! WORST DENTIST EVER and should not be allowed to practice dentistry on unsuspecting innocent people! I cannot say worse things about any other practice or business! When I was a poor college student and went to the free clinic, I got a million times better care. If you are thinking of going here, stop. Walk away. Go anywhere else. If you go here already, stop. Walk away. Go anywhere else. Go to a student. Don't get it treated at all. This was as good an experience as an emergency filling could be. I was visiting Fort Collins from out of town with no intention of returning to this office, but a filling fell out of one of my teeth, so I had to bother them with a one-off appointment. Despite this, they fit me in for a checkup, fit me in right afterwards to fill the tooth, and even gave me the new-patient special of a free checkup and X-rays! On top of it, Dr. Haschke was extremely friendly and reassuring, and patient with my small jaw. Before the filling was done, I had a chance to choose the best option for me, which had to be the less expensive one, and they didn't pressure me into any work I didn't want done at that time.
