Paid nearly $5,000 to this company for a mini split installation ect Comfort Heating air solar and electrical out of Diamond Springs failed to finalize the permit. I only found out after receiving a county notice. After a demand letter, I was told on 2/6/26 that paperwork would be sent -- as of 2/13/26, nothing has arrived. This company repeatedly no-showed scheduled service appointments in December (12/9 and 12/10) after confirming them. I began calling for service 12/5/25 and promised service . Multiple calls were ignored. I requested to speak to the owner, Cecil Sims, several times and I never received a call back, He is either out of town or on a tractor. all calls and times have been documented I did not post as I wanted to keep this short and the point. Believe me it's been ridiculous. I ultimately hired another contractor who showed up within two hours, charged less, and did excellent work. We bought our house in Placerville about 8 months ago. Our real estate agent Cheryl Obereiner with Coldwell Banker purchased a home warranty for us through Fidelity Home Warranty. We finally got a chance to turn it on for the first time this summer and it took over two hours to cool it down 4 degrees. I know there are many factors including the size of the house, age of the house, how well insulated the house is, etc. Our home is only 21 years old and the AC was replaced 5 years ago with a newer high efficiency unit. After I submitted a request for service under our home warranty, Comfort Control dispatched Steve and he came out within a day and a half. He called around noon and said he could come an hour earlier than scheduled and I said that was fine. Steve is an excellent technician and diagnosed the issue. It was down about a lb and a half of refrigerant. Because the unit is only a few years old, he said when it was installed a few years ago, the refrigerant may not have been filled properly to the factory recommended lbs of refrigerant. He didn't think there were any leaks; just a bit low on refrigerant. It's blowing colder now in a shorter period of time than before. Time will tell if it's a good repair. We have 4 months left on our home warranty and any leak should show up within that time period. I'm happy with the service and especially Steve, our technician. read more

terrible. filing a complaint.unit arrived with a cracked/briken part. guy fontinued to use, ignorwd me asking, did it get damaged in shipping?after repeating my question, said he saw nothing wrong with it.continued to install unit does not heat up room, water on outside unit so heavy looked like it rained on it(not raining) water all over the patio. guy did not measure room or floor to ceiling before ordering, saw an estimate from another company laying on too of my washer and used it as a referrance. i calked several times ask for suoervisor/owner of the company (got no where(. later kelly came out, claimed she was supervisor, brought another guy who said he was a top technician. guy told her the problem is unit is too small. kelly said they would replace the unit. buy it woukd cost another $900. said she fired the orig. guy that cane out and wrote the estimate/size up. not to mention the guy who instalked it, cut an electrical wire inside my walls, but said he fixed it. i toldvthem to take it out and put my house back like it was. kelly apoligized and said, just gove us a chance to make it right. the specialist said, it's not going to cost as much as the mitsibihi and ee will discount it for the problems. wevwill take everything out and install a larger unit i finally said ok, but i do not have much faith in your company now. kelly said again, i am sorry, we will fix it, do not talk to anyone else but me or the soecialist she brought out. i waited a few days, did not hear from them. called them several times and they didn't accept my calls, rwcorder begin saying, office closed,or answered my call once, put me on hold so long, calk dropoed or rhey hung up. a few days later, i was served with a demand letter to pay within 7 days or they would put a lein on my house, take me to fourt and file a report on my credit and that i had 7 days to respond. i got all my notes together and sent an overnight certifued letter to them, basically saying you dud not do what you promised to do, instead took the time to serve me, threatening court and i would not oay for something that does not work, your specialist agreed with you that the unit is too small. next, they said the outside unit was placed too far from the imside unit. i told them that's your guy fault, not mine. anway, they are not communicating or answering calls. so i welcome them to take me to court. a lot more went on, but is too much to write. i would not suggest using them.find anyone but them. note:google does not give enough reviews on them, now i found that yelp does and there similar complaints like mine. i have not turned it on since they left, just want it out of my house, but they wont respond, i am now attempting to reach, bbb.and contractors license board. what a nightmare. work, wont heat ip read more

Most if not all of these bad reviews are from people with home warranties. In case you don't know the home warranty company has to approve almost everything and most of the time send the part to the company to fix the customers problem. I've seen it take half a year for the home warranty to approve the repair or replacement and the unit to be up and running. Even a simple fix can take months gelgetting approval through the home warranty company. The company that your home warranty company dispatches is just the mediator between what you and the warranty company. Whatever company your home warranty company dispatched the job to is not responsible for the time it takes to repair your system. Drop the home warranty company and get a savings account will be a lot less headaches. read more

Choosing a solar company and an HVAC company is a challenge. There are so many different companies out there, and too many things to know, the technology is continuously updating and changing, and prices aren't listed on the web -- it's not like shopping for cars, where you can easily compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. Plus it's a big investment in the quality of your home and safe guarding yourself against the ever rising PG&E costs. I knew it was time to update my 30 year old HVAC system when the heater stopped working during the snow in... just kicking. I wanted to avoid that and anticipate the increased energy use by new additions to my household. So I stared to call around... after talking to one charming man after another on the phone, my head was swimming with words like micro inverters, and whatnots, plus the prices I was quoted range significantly, I felt like I was going to pay to much and have to micromanage the installation process. So I reached out to my neighbors for advice, and they pointed me to Comfort Control. As it turns out, Cecil of Comfort Control knew my house well. Funnily enough for years before I owned it, he did the annual tuneup of the HVAC system, which nearly doubled its life expectancy, so I thought to myself this is a good sign. In under a week from signing the contract with Comfort Control, the team was an action and in less than two weeks, the solar panels were up and the new HVAC system was installed, running, and passing inspection from the County. The electricians/installers that worked on the project were professional, good natured, and respectful. I thoroughly enjoyed waking up and knowing that they would be coming to the house to work on the project. Cherry worked with the County for permits that were processed quickly and efficiently, if you've worked with Planning Departs for Permits before, you will be in awe of Cherry's grace of getting the permits properly processed - it's an art. This Fourth of July weekend has been the first weekend I've used the AC. It has been so nice in my house and the air conditioner is so quiet that I have found myself in complete surprise when I walk out of the house and find it's 100° - so are the pups they used to run back into the house no matter how hot a day with the long noisy/smelly HVAC. I cannot say enough good things about Cecil and his team at Comfort Control. Thank you so much for helping to make my house the home I want it to be. read more

High pressure tactics with a hint of dishonesty all in an effort to get you to sign up for the most profitable option for them. They lied to us to get us to go with the most expensive option with the least amount of effort on their part, and when we pushed them on going another route they strung us along for a few weeks and then just decided they "no longer work with the warranty company." My mother needed a new HVAC system in her new condo. She contacted Comfort Control to look at it, and they told her that the whole system needed to be replaced. She had a home warranty, and given the information that it needed to totally be replaced, she asked about going through the warranty company. Comfort Control said they work with that warranty company, so they could just continue with the job. On their 2nd visit Cecil came and looked and said that replacing the current system would be very expensive and recommended she abandon it and install 2 new mini splits instead. I asked Cecil several times how much replacing the current system would be and he just kept saying "oh, really expensive. It requires a crane, you gotta redo the ductwork, it's just a lot," but never gave an actual estimate. He did assure us that the mini split (which he quoted as costing roughly $15k) was the cheapest option. Afterwards the warranty company said they don't cover the mini split system, just replacing the current system (or at least parts of it). So my mom went back to Cecil and said she'd like an estimate for replacing the system instead if the mini split he had already quoted. He did his best to talk her out of it ("the warranty company will take forever to send parts, and they often send the wrong parts, or broken parts" or "if you do it through them we won't even start until October and you know it's going to get real hot soon" etc.) After repeatedly pushing for a quote, Comfort Control sent the warranty company a quote THAT WAS CHEAPER THAN THE MINI SPLIT THEY ASSURED US WAS THE CHEAPEST OPTION. So they spent the a couple hours dodging questions about how much a replacement would cost and outright lied telling us the mini split would save us money. Lies. But then my mom kept trying to get Comfort Control to send the warranty company the information they needed to proceed and they just kept telling her how awful the experience was going to be now that she chose the most cost effective (not to mention better looking) option. After weeks of this they finally just told her "we no longer work with that warranty company. Good luck getting it done now." Rude, dishonest, and a total waste of time. read more

If you have a choice to use them, don't. If you are forced to, because they provided through your home warranty be prepared to get no answers on the status and be sitting in your sweat for a month while they provide no updates. Had to use them twice now and both times it has been a hassle. Called multiple times to check in on the claim, each time they blame another member of the office staff as to why they don't have an answer. If you have to use them, ride em like lazy horse, keep the spur in them hard, or you will get NOWHERE. Our AC unit busted right in the middle of a 109 heat wave on a Sunday. Monday morning I was able to have Comfort come out. Brian the tech came and had to order part. Almost dinged them a star because I had to follow up next day and was told misinformation regarding the part not being available but Brian came back and installed. Unfortunately, he came from Sacramento to our home and then back to Sac so their planning on appts needs to be streamlined and you do have to call them to get updates but all in all great service! read more

My elderly Mother's propane tank ran empty, (which was a separate but not battle) had tank filled & locked due to a gas leak. Propane company recommended this company, it was Monday before Christmas, but they said they could fix, repair any leak & replace the 27 year old water heater. Her house was very cold so she had to go stay with my brother. Granted it was the holidays, but after Christmas we stayed in a hotel for a week as the job wasn't done. When they said it was done it failed inspection. We had to tell them enough, they replaced 60' of pipe that didnt need replaced. And charged 3x more than Home Depot would have. We had another contractor come in & fix the problems & replaced the water main valve (that wasn't broken before) & after 1 1/2 days called the inspector & it passed. If I could give a sixth star, I would. I was assigned to Comfort Control by my Home Warranty company, and went into the repair of my AC ducts with very low expectations. However, the schedulers (Haley and her fellow teammates) were prompt in scheduling a repair, and the technician, Chris was polite and knowledgeable on the inspection, so much so that in addition to the duct repair, I scheduled a tune-up for my upstairs and downstairs systems with Comfort Control for when they came back to repair the ductwork. Because I had two systems (one for upstairs and one for down) Comfort Control was willing to provide a discount on the tune-up service (woo-hoo!) and the found a busted part to my downstairs system. Chris, the technician, fixed it on the spot, and worked with my home insurance company to ensure that I wasn't billed for that, as it was part of the same system that'd failed and needed duct work. I'm very grateful for this friendly, prompt, comprehensive and affordable service. Every single time we've had a service appointment I am disappointed. The staffs communication between customers & each other is clearly lacking. I've had two scheduled appointments that were scheduled from 8-10 and no one showed up & nobody reaches out to let us know. The workers that have come out during the scheduled times are lazy and not willing to go the extra mile or really even put in any effort at all. Most are rude and unfriendly towards their customers. Nothing has been fixed. This service & company is awful and extremely disappointing. When I called and complained, I was told I would get a call back to reschedule my appointment, & I never got a call, I had to call them. A new property I purchased needed an HVAC system on the main level, and a mini-split system for the studio). I would definitely recommend getting multiple quotes for an HVAC system. While I appreciate the time it took for the estimate, I felt a little rushed / pushed to sign during the estimate, which I absolutely do not like. Additionally, the question was asked that I needed to maybe add a few more solar panels for my home now that I'd be getting an HVAC system. My home has 31 owned solar panels for a single-story with ~1300sqft on the main level... I don't know if this was just trying to push more solar sales or what, but I know that my current solar is plenty (as my last home had 10 owned solar panels for a 1230sqft home, and I rarely ever had an electricity bill). After receiving a few estimates, this one was the most expensive ($8,500 higher than what I ended up getting). Best of luck to the business, but the prices are pretty steep compared to other local companies. read more

Horrible. They installed a new gas wall heater and it's never worked right. 5 years later and multiple repairs by them, I ended up having to buy another heater. They couldn't even respond to me for the install let alone the repairs I should have gotten on the original heater. I wish yelp would allow 0. Cecil is extremely shady. Stay away. I also filed a complaint the the BBB. And he's not A+ rating like he advertises. Cecil is like the "smooth, fast-talking, non-listening" car salesman you see in comedy movies or SNL. He could be wildly successful in Hollywood My AC was not blowing as cold as usual. AHS sent me this guy. He's extremely insecure - begins touting his knowledge as soon as he entered the door. "Convo" 1: Him: We'll have to inspect it. If it needs freon, that means there's a leak. You have to do a nitrogen test to find the leaks, etc.." Me: "Let's do a leak test". Him: AHS will take a while to review and may not approve. Him: Pontificating/rambling about R22, and now it's $189/lb because they don't make it anymore. With AHS it's only $90/lb. More rambling about my 20 year old systems that will need to be replaced in 3-5 years. Me: Let's request authorization for the leak test. I don't want to fill it today just to drain it later for the leak test and then pay again to refill (AHS only pays $10/lb). Him: We'll let me go check it out first. "Convo" 2: Him: It doesn't need much freon if any - its running fine. You need to clean the coils, and that's a maintenance item. Me: How much is that? Him: $248 per condenser (I have two). Its super dangerous chemicals. Me: Well I'll have to hold off on that. I lost my job. Me: So how do you know it doesn't need freon? Him: When you have done this as long as I have, you can just tell my feeling it when it runs, but I'll throw my gauges on it. Him: More pontification about R22, my old systems...asks me what I did/do for a living, asks me what my wife does "Convo" 3: Him: Yep I was right...it's only a little low. XX psi on one and YY psi on the other. So there's no way they will approve a leak test. Me: ok, well then if it only needs a little bit, and I get 50% off because of AHS, can you top it off while you are here? Him: Sure (tells his young sidekick to hook the gauges back up) Me: How do you measure how much it takes. Him: Oh, you weigh the cyclinder before and after "Convo 4" Him: Wow that took a lot of freon - 9.51 lbs... Me: In shock... Me: I'm going to call AHS - there's a leak...it's been fine every annual tune-up Him: oh they won't approve...that's not a lot of freon...these condensers hold 15-18 lbs of freon and then you have to add in all the lines in your attic... Him: the only thing I can tell you is you need to clean these. $248 is not a lot. Look at the scars on my hands from the chemicals... Me: still in shock...the bill is $855.90...and I have no job... (I swear I'm not making any of this up or embellishing whatsoever...you can't make this S---- up....) Oh and I looked up DIY coil cleaning on Youtube. Tons of videos and self-rinsing products out there with 5 star reviews. However, it's $5.98 per per can...so an overwhelming $11.96 for my two condensers...what an f-ing crook. Lost sleep two nights now because of finances. Feel totally victimized and stupid. I'm usually more alert and savvy. This was a wake up call that slime balls still exist even though there are wonderful people my world normally. read more

Then they said that they have one and someone will be out the next day. No show. I have had them here before and now no more. I found the part, just under $200 and did the work myself. My home warranty company sent Comfort Control out to assess my broken air conditioner. Two thorough visits discovered that the ancient blower in the ceiling was rusted through. It leaked into the ceiling causing a water stain. Cecil Sims, the owner, took the time to sit with me and explain several options. His understanding of my concerns and goals led me to have Comfort Control install my new system. They even helped me understand YGRENE financing options. The installation is still underway, which is why they only get four stars. Based on the excellent crew and progress to date, I am confident that I will be satisfied with the service and new system. If you could choose 0 stars I would. My elderly mother has been dealing with this company through her home warranty since July. They try to say that the warranty company isn't approving things but we have written proof that things were approved sometimes a month before this company even bothered to order the parts. Every day whether you call at 11:00am or 3:30pm the "girls" are at lunch and when you call back an hour later they are still at lunch. They promise action and calls back each time but never return phone calls. They took from July to October to get my mother's A/C fixed, forgot to test it and had to come back. The heater and duct work have been on hold since October when they finally looked under the house at my suggestion and found problems. They are an AHS contractor. What can you expect? They were dispatched to me for a ducting issue. Not their fault, but really this could have been quoted with the provided pictures sent to AHS. As with any AHS contractor you have to be your own advocate. I told them what a respected HVAC contractor needed to do in order to fix the issue and they wrote it up as asked. I cannot complain. They were super late for the appointment, like 7 PM for a 2 PM appointment, but he did eventually show up. The receptionist assured me he would come even though I had my doubts. Would I use them again? No. Not out of my own pocket at least, but as they did what was asked of them and submitted my claim as asked to AHS I think 4 stars is fair. read more

We called this company out last summer when our air conditioning went out. The tech sent out to help us was just trying to sell us a new unit instead of fixing what we have. My husband did HVAC for years and yes, we could use a new unit but, it is still very fixable. We needed new capacitors, found them on Amazon for $15 each. The company charged us almost $300 but, it was covered under our home warranty..so, we just went with it. They didn't have the right ones in stock but had a substitute that they said would work. Well, this summer, capacitors went out.. called a different company to come check it out. What they replaced ours with was not a good substitute and now or fan motor has gone out as well. We called to ask if they can fix their mistake as it's only been a year, the capacitors shouldn't go bad that quickly.. they would not fix anything as it's been over 30 days. So now we are paying another company $500 to replace the capacitors and fan. I would not recommend this company. read more

TLDR: They had 7 chances to work on the unit and left it in worse shape than before. Stay away even if your life depends on this company My home warranty sent this company out to fix our air conditioner in July. They were out two weeks because it was a hot summer, which is understandable. When Steve came out two weeks later he confirmed my suspicions that the blower was dead. Two more weeks went by and they came out to install the new blower. They sent out two guys (Joe and someone else...) who are installers, not repair techs, so install the new blower. I took the day off to be home so they could get the work done. They install the blower and leave without testing the system at about 11AM. Then I try to turn it on and it wouldn't turn on, so I called them back and they came back out at 1PM. Then they came back out to fix it and left without testing it again around 3PM. This time it would turn on, but wouldn't turn off. When it turned on it shook our entire house and made our chandeliers swing back and forth while dimming the lights and drawing enough power to actually reset the time on my alarm clock. Then they came back out to fix it and left around 5PM without testing it and it wouldn't turn on. I had a class to go to that evening, but my wife was home, so we called them back and they came back out around 7PM, this time sending a tech after feeding my a line about how they got a new girl in the office who doesn't know how to schedule and that someone in their office quit recently to open a fast food joint and they are really short staffed. Cecil came out, was very rude, called my wife a liar, and said that it's just an old unit and they do that sort of thing. When my wife asked why it hadn't done it for the past 6 months we've been living in the house he shrugged her off and said they'd be calling us. He then "fixed" it and told us that it'll stay on, but we should just operate it using the breakers on the main panel to our house... this is not safe nor would a seasoned tech recommend doing that. Two more weeks go by and I finally get a call from the office, all the while I've been calling every few days to check in. They say they're going to send their best tech out to take a look at it. I told the nice lady on the phone that I do not want to see them out here again after the next time they come out so she promised they would send their best tech. I requested Steve because he was the only good person we dealt with at this company, but he was booked out for a while, so we got Cecil again. Cecil came out and took a bunch of parts off of our fan and said "we'll be calling you," but regularly calling the company resulted in no action. Eventually I reached out to my home warranty's regional customer service representative and she stepped in. They called me right away and schedule a day to come install some new parts, but in my conversation with our customer service agent she said we would be switching companies due to this company's lack of competence. We get a different company to come out (a company we've used before and I absolutely love) and he goes on the roof, comes down, and says "what the hell happened to your unit? There are loose wires everywhere and missing parts." I called comfort control and it turns out they took all the parts they needed to replace with them, which isn't a big deal because they needed to order new parts, but when the home warranty customer service representative stepped in and asks them to return the parts they sat on the work order for three weeks and then all of a sudden "lost the parts." Some of the parts taken were things that don't need to be replaced such as a fan blade. Apparently our unit has an odd sized fan blade and it took weeks to locate a new one. So here we are three months later, having lived through the hottest summer in 25 years without air conditioning. The other company was authorized by our home warranty to procure new parts that were "lost" by Comfort Control. They spent nearly $1,000 on new parts just to get our unit to the point where they can diagnose the problem. Stay away from this company at all costs. read more

I have to say Comfort Control Heating and Air are by far one of the most professional, courteous, and friendly companies I've dealt with in this post pandemic world. Cecil was prompt on his first visit and had an estimate to me that next day. This was the only company I did not have to hunt down just to get an estimate back. Some larger companies didn't even bother to get back to me after their initial visit. Cecil built me a beautiful package for a whole new system. (Yes I needed a new system after dumping money into trying to patch it up for the last 6 years. it was a 25 year old system) After that I mostly dealt with Cherry who was absolutely amazing. She was a huge help with Financing and setting up the scheduling for install. she provided great communication and customer service. To be honest her customer service was a deciding factor in me going with their company on this project. Bennett was who they sent to install my system with another gentleman, sorry forgot his name. They were very professional and friendly and were great at explaining what they were doing with the system and assisting me in gaining knowledge to I could trouble shoot in a pinch. they went above and beyond and brought in a smaller cooling unit so my mother and my kids were comfortable in the house during the very hot week they were replacing the system. Bennett even would show up in the morning and fill the dog bowls outside my house with fresh water for the dogs. I cannot state this enough that this company went above and beyond in every way to make sure I got the right system for my needs and we felt very comfortable to have them in our home. Excellent! Our 34 year old heat pump was only using the "heat strips" and needed to be replaced. Comfort Control Heating & Air was 1 of 3 companies that provided us with a bid for a new 3 ton heat pump including duct work, and additional attic insulation. Cecil Sims, owner of Comfort Control Heating & Air, was the only 1 of the 3 companies to ask us "Do you have any problem areas (hot or cold spots) you would like to correct?" Cecil's bid included 3 options with different price points to address our needs. We selected the SEER 17 unit with dual zoning, including ductwork and insulation. The install was promptly scheduled. Bennett, and David, arrived at our home at the scheduled time every day. When the new heat pump was installed, we felt the increased air flow and temperature within a couple hours. My experiences as a customer with Comfort Control over the years have all been positive. I have a home warranty and many companies (HVAC or otherwise) are not willing to come to the community where I live, so they get at least a couple of stars just for that. But then they also have always worked with my schedule and gotten the job done, with my furnace, my a/c, and my e/c. They even directed me the parts to get and hooked up my genny to my breaker box for what I consider a reasonable cost, to make using that much more convenient. No company is perfect and things do happen outside their control (home warranty companies, distributors, being short-staffed due to illness and whatnot, etc.), but, again, my experiences for a decade and a half have been good. read more

Tech showed up on time but was not sure about what was causing the problem. Had to consult with the owner. Claimed mouse had shewed up the ducts and the condenser had to be cleaned. I asked them to leave the duct repair (didn't make sense for the mouse to chew up sheet metal covered with insulation and aluminum covering) and just service the hvac. They never responded. Continued from Stacey H Comfort Control couldn't fit us in the schedule for a couple more days (they don't work weekends) so they came the following Tuesday. Mind you this is now going on 3.5 weeks of waiting for this to get resolved. The tech Chris, came out and installed the new compressor. It worked! We had cold air! For a half a day.... hoping it was just a fluke and it would fix itself overnight I waited to call Comfort Control until the following morning. I must have spoken to someone that was newly hired because she was very helpful and got Chris back over that very afternoon. Chris was great, I will say that. He inspected everything! Pressures, inside unit, parts, etc. At the end of his 7 hours working on the unit, he determined there was a leak in the coil that he fixed by tightening the bolt at the base. The pressures are all holding and now the last thing we needed was new refrigerant in the system. Unfortunately, he did not have that on him and he had to call to get approval for it from his boss Cecil and that either himself or one of the girls at the office would call me the next morning to get everything set up. Since it was 7:30pm and still 85 degrees, I completely understood and thanked him profusely! I was hopeful this would soon be the end of it. We are now at June 20th, I called our warranty company that afternoon after not receiving a call back from Comfort Control to give them an update. Upon that call, the rep was looking through the invoices and noticed that Comfort Control had already invoiced the warranty company for 9lbs of refrigerant that was never installed. I called back Comfort Control and got another woman on the phone who stated, the woman who handles the warranty company claims is currently on the phone with my home warranty company getting approval for a brand-new coil and new outdoor unit. What?!?!? I asked why we would need that when the tech said that all we needed was new refrigerant in the system? She said to hold and that she would call the tech. A few moments later she said that she spoke to the tech and that is what he is recommending. I asked if Cecil was around....seeing if I could get to the bottom of this and the girl on the phone said that Cecil was the one she was speaking to, not Chris the tech who was working on our system and who had suggested refrigerant at the end of his visit. She said the woman who handled the warranty claims would call the later that day. No call. Our warranty company called us back on the afternoon of Friday, June 22nd and said that the coil would not be covered under our warranty and would be $1600 out of pocket to replace it. Hold the phone??? The following Monday morning we call the warranty company and stated that we do not approve of this recommendation and restated everything that had been fishy up until this point. In addition to the tech who came and worked on the unit never recommended a new coil or outdoor unit. I expressed that I assume Cecil (the owner of Comfort Control) changed the recommendation and not for the reason to get us up and running. It was to extort our warranty company for more money and some of ours. I then stated to our rep that for piece of mind and to benefit both us and our warranty company, we would like to transfer the claim to another company in the area to get a second opinion. They agreed that was the best for both parties. I also offered going line by line of what Comfort Control had invoiced to ensure nothing else was mischarged. July 10 - was the first date available for the new company, Indoor Comfort Services to come out and inspect our unit. We gave the new tech the run down of everything we had experienced with Comfort Control and he told us that this wasn't the first time that he had to look at a system after Comfort Control had worked on it. After a few hours of investigation and testing, he called our warranty company for approval for new refrigerant. He installed the new refrigerant. Our system is now blowing cold air. And no, we did not need a new coil or outdoor unit. Comfort Control is nothing but a bunch of crooks! The only reputable person in their company is their tech Chris who was straight forward and honest. Unfortunately, his boss stepped in and added his 2 cents to try and get more money out of the warranty company and us. I'm still waiting 24 hours before I can officially call our AC fixed, but I have a feeling I will be pleasantly surprised by morning when our house is finally cooler than outside. The receptionist was professional and even confirmed with the team they knew how to diagnose and repair my thermostat before scheduling the appointment. I will give them 1 star for showing up when they said they would. Our experience with this company was terrible. We had them out last friday (during the 108 heat wave) because our home warranty sent them to repair our ac that was not blowing cold air. He arrived and inspected our unit and said there was a filter inside the unit that needed cleaned with a "special chemical solution" and that it was not covered by the warranty as it falls into the maintenance category costing 350.00. I paid it because I trusted he knew what he was doing and did not want to be without ac any longer. Within 5 minutes of him leaving the ac stops blowing cool air. He returns and inspected our ducts and said they need replaced, granted they do and he assured us that he would have someone from the office call us first thing Monday to get the process going. It has since been a week and not one phone call from them to "get the process going" replacing our ducts. We ended up having to call out another company to come out and fix the ac. Turns out there was a very visible leak and all the refrigerant leaked out. It took the other repairman less than 5 minutes to find it and reveal the filter was still somewhat dirty. Had a complete inspection been done it would have been found. Oh, and the "special chemical solution" is just a industrial strength coil cleaner. You can buy similar products any home improvement store. We know this because the bottle fell off the truck into the street by our house. read more

Fuse panel for ac used to trip very frequently. Tech couldn't find anything wrong. So I suggested him to add the hard start restart switch and he did it .. as that would make the compressor act stronger. It still tripped, so on 2nd trip, I made him check the specific fuse ( my dad's suggestion) and he opened it up and the hot wire had totally come loose and David hooked it up. Hence issue found and mystery solved. I think I was lucky and very fortunate to have my dad offer a great suggestion and David to support and troubleshoot according to my instructions. I am so upset my insurance Old Republic Home Protection they suck also had these people come out in late april i told them my house was not getting cold or warm and air only came out the living room and thats it no other vents. So they came out and said my filter was dirty and i had to replace it and a wire was damaged due to a rodent. i also bought this home in December. So he changed the wire. I had my cousin there beause i could not get time off work so she said the house was cool but she stayed in the living room so of course it was cool in the livingroom and i told her make sure you tell him to check all vents to make sure the air is blowing through them. She said she did check. so today is 5/30/2017 and it has not been hot since now so yesterday it was 98 i turned my ac on and guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only my livingroom stayed cool and a little cool and no air was blowing through any of the vents just the living room so i called. i explained everything and she said sorry its been past 30 days we cant do anything about it and i said ok but the reason i called you guys you didnt fix and she jsut said sorry its been 30 days and i said it has not been hot since now she said call your insurance place we already closed the ticket. I am so upset if someone calles for something to be fixed and they didnt fix what you wanted to be fix as a buisness you think they would want to fix it. We are still waiting on a call back from Comfort Controls from December 31st 2021!! We had a Service call through our home warranty company and Comfort Controls told us and our system was totally failing. We received the quote for a new electric heating/AC installation with all new duct work, and we were trying to understand the pricing, but that must have been too much to ask? We were told that they may have been padding the quote with new duct work (not covered by the warranty) to make up for the home warranty company not paying them a fair price on the new Air Handler and Condenser? We will never really know, because Comfort Control just left us hanging. We even cashed out on the home warranty so we could pay for a better system. Obviously CC lost out on our business, and we found a responsive and fair priced HVAC company which took care of us quickly and professionally.
