The needles were first. All of them in my shoulder were painless, but the three down my arm "at acupuncture points" were like lightning at first. The cupping followed. Dr. Wang applied a bunch of them quickly. The atmosphere of the treatment area is nice and comfortable. She makes sure you're warm enough and leaves you with a nightlight so you can nap. I had lost the feeling in my knee to upper leg to my waistline and a bit above. I was using a cane and in severe pain from being able n a hospital for several months and loss of my memory . As an anesthesiologist, who is more than familiar with the failed back surgery syndrome, I was interested in alternative therapies. I looked up Dr Groopman, who is boarded in internal medicine, emergency medicine as well as acupuncture. He brings a broad perspective to his practice and he is very thorough in his initial examinations; as a physician, he is able to bring a multimodal approach to pain control, not just using acupuncture, and his treatments of my wife's back pain have proved extremely effective. As an addendum, I recently developed trigeminal neuralgia. After seeing a neurologist who prescribed a MRI and medication, I went to Dr Groopman, who had just recently presented a case report on his successful treatment of trigeminal neuralgia using acupuncture. I received a course of treatments and it's been two weeks since my last one. It would seem that the condition is in remission. I am thrilled.
