Waited and waited, but after two days recontacted Ortho Carolina to find out if Centerwell was coming, and when. Ortho's request had been submitted, so, without Centerwell's response, they resubmitted the request for services...just in time for the weekend. Centerwell apparently does not administratively process requests other than during the work week. Think about it: people get sick and injured at all hours and days of the week. If they need help, Centerwell is, in my experience, not the place to call. NOT RECOMMENDED. On Monday, after my wife tried to change dressings and with me dealing with a lot of pain and annoyance, we received a call from Centerwell advising me that Linda would be contacting me to set up an appointment for the next day, Tuesday. Linda came by, did the interview and filled out paperwork and looked at my back dressings. She and my wife removed what dressings were there and my wife followed Linda's instructions as to how to dress the wounds, setting up a follow-on visit in three days. The second visit was similar to the first. Linda advised, wife did the dressings changes. We ended the relationship with Centerwell and would not consider using them again. What a waste of our time. Not recommended at all.

Worst of all Centerwell left a fragile, vulnerable 93 year old with a lumbar fracture completely stranded with no home health in place post discharge. They stated that the patient was accepted for care, but then did everything in their power to block services from actually starting. Because of their continuous pushback and stalling tactics, discharge was delayed, forcing us to pay out of pocket for extra days at the skilled nursing facility just waiting for home health to coordinate. When discharge finally happened, CenterWell completely ghosted us. They promised to come out the very next day but failed to show up or follow through. Instead of receiving care, we got the run-around from an incompetent staff that did nothing but pass the buck and then blame the family. A representative named Christine was extremely rude, completely lacked empathy, and made a difficult situation in our lives infinitely harder. To make matters worse, they operate on a rigid 8-5 business hour schedule with absolutely zero wiggle room or flexibility for working families. In addition, our family has to travel to a cancer center for weekly treatment and Centerwell would not work with us to accommodate our unique schedule. Centerwell flat-out refused to accommodate any early morning or post-5:00 PM visits, stating bluntly that they are "not an emergency service" and will not provide any help or care outside of standard operating business hours. Do not trust this agency if you need reliable transition care, professional communication, or value basic human decency. They leave vulnerable patients stranded without care. Go anywhere but here.
