Even the fries were elevated. The rose dessert is visually beautiful and clearly designed for photos. It tasted pleasant and light. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on point from the moment we sat down. Our glasses were never empty. She checked in often, smiled, and made the dinner feel warm and welcoming. We were lucky with our seating. When Beast came out for his performance, we were front and center which elevated the entire experience. I never did anything like this as a child, so experiencing it now as an adult with my boyfriend felt personal and special. I was not sure exactly what that meant, but I am starting to understand now, after watching him many times. Nick performs at Downtown Disney 5 days a week, Tuesday thru Saturday nights (currently on the purple stage on Pleasure Island, but will be moving to a yet unannounced location for the development of the new Disney Springs Nick is totally self taught as an artist and is so much more talented than he even realizes. He made it to number 8 on America's Got Talent and is now working with a national network to develop his own series. But he takes time after each 30 minute set to greet fans and sign autographs and take photos. But the real reason to go watch Nicholas is the performance. He puts his heart and soul into each and every song. He plays above his head, behind his back, he plays while twirling the guitar on a tabletop where people are sitting. He will totally amaze you with his talent and his performance, and it's all free at Downtown Disney.

I visited for the first time on Wednesday to see Hamilton on its national tour. I was lucky enough to win a front row ticket, so I saw it all as close as possible. The dancing, the singing, all the little details Lin Manuel Miranda inserted into this production is astounding. I laughed, I cried, I clapped, and I cried some more when the 2.5 hour show ended. I did not want to leave the theater. I cannot wait to see Hamilton again one day. As for the theater, this was my first time visiting the Dr Phillips Center and I was in awe. First, Dr Phillips Center is in the middle of Downtown Orlando and there are many great options parking wise close to the theater. I chose to park in the City Commons garage. There was an attendant in front where you pull your ticket to park - $19 with a card or $10 cash. The City Commons garage also connects to a covered walkway that leads you to the theater, just get off on the 3rd floor of the garage. The walk in total is about 6-7 minutes (lol). The theater itself features a large lawn in front, then valet is in front of the doors, then when you walk in, you get the full ambience. It's beautiful in there, so nice and shiny. The box office is immediately to your right as you walk in. There are concession stands on both sides of the building and the merch area was to the right side of the building. The actual theater is huge! Very comfy seats. It was pretty cold inside, so bring a sweater. Again, with the theater being in Downtown Orlando, there is plenty nearby whether it be a bar or sit down restaurant. Several restaurants are within a 10 minute walk. I will be visiting the Dr Phillips Center for a show again in the future, a great time was had.

You can prepay parking, or there is street parking available if you get there early and don't mind a short walk. Taking pictures is not allowed throughout the performance so be mindful. If you're looking for a classic Disney experience that's filled with laughs, music, and great food, Hoop-Dee-Doo is absolutely worth adding to your itinerary. Swivel chairs line the railing, so you turn out toward the wall to eat and spin back around in a tight area to watch the show. The food could've saved the day being all you can eat and comfort foods. But the servers brought it out in the middle of the acts.. when it's pitch black and we are swiveled around... so it was cold by the time you were ready to eat. The all you can eat was accommodated by the server bringing out a full tray of each item and plopping down one or two items on each of their tables. The cast makes a huge deal with a musical number about the dessert... Strawberry Shortcake.. but it was honestly not the best dessert option. The show was definitely cute and old timey - with the whole place joining in a chorus of This Land Is Your Land and corny jokes, but I would highly suggest you leave as soon as you finish dessert. They hand out washboards and serving spoons to every table... which turns into a nightmare of banging and unnecessary showboating to gain attention from the characters. Was it worth marking off the experience? Yes. Would I suggest anyone venture to do it? No.
