Past experiences with Comcast through online chat services has netted poor results for other issues. Phone conversations have also not netted results. In the last couple years, going into a local store (1hr 30min round trip) to be the best method for getting results by human to human contact. I recently discovered through comparison that we had been paying for Peacock streaming through Amazon Pay and through Comcast. I do not know how this happened, but we had been having difficulty getting Peacock activated through Comcast. Rather than dealing with Comcast (Internet says headquarters are in Philadelphia), I am de-activating my subscription to Peacock Premium today. I will also be contacting Peacock because they should have technology to discover and reduce duplicative services for their customers. I am very frustrated at companies' subscription efforts for profits without checking for already subscribed and switching services for customers who want to change companies. read more

I switched from Verizon to Xfinity Mobile about a year ago. I brought my own phone. As my phone started to stop working I wanted to upgrade it and ordered a phone online. The phone was not delivered to my address. Xfinity Mobile refused to work with FedEx, their carrier of choice, to track the package. They insist it was delivered to me, but refused to provide the full tracking report with the address and signature of the receiver. They tried to force me to file a police report that the phone was stolen or lost, but it was not. I was never delivered. I refused to pay and then sent me to collections. Even now that I have the full tracking report that shows it was not delivered to my address, they still won't track the phone with FedEx, and still are trying to make me pay for it. I switched back to Verizon after a week without a phone because of Xfinity Mobile. For three months I have fought with them over my having to file a false police report. No matter how much evidence I have, they refuse to do the right thing. I do not know what they are getting out of harassing me, but my credit card company took my side, FedEx is trying to help me, and all I get are these crazy guys at Xfinity Mobile trying to tell me the sky is red when it is blue. They insist the phone was delivered to me despite the evidence that it was not. I am not sure what to do, but I know I am not going to spend my time and money filing and obtaining false police reports. They are a hideous company. Hands down the worst I have ever dealt with. I thought their Internet Service was awful, now they seem angels compared to Xfinity Mobile. I look forward to them going out of business. I give them maybe two years. Problem #1 - I had to return my equipment to this location in the middle of nowhere because Comcast told me so. Never mind that there is a location much closer to my house, I still had to come here. Problem #2 - They open at 9 am M-F, and when I arrived at 9:20 there were already ELEVEN people in line. Problem #3 - The machine where you can pay your Comcast bills was mysteriously missing, so everyone who would normally use the machine was actually in line just trying to pay their bills. Problem #4 - There was ONE employee working the window. ONE. When someone in line asked if she could get help, she said that "someone will be out when the next shift starts." Apparently the "next shift" begins at 10 am. The guy said out loud what I was thinking in my mind: "Next shift?! YOU JUST OPENED 20 MINUTES AGO!" What a cluster F. So glad I'm switching to Verizon. If I could give -5 stars I would. This was actually the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We changed our internet to Comcast on 5/25/2019, with the plan to change our two phone lines to Xfinity. We went to the Xfinity center. My husband purchased a new phone and was switched over. When they went to switch my phone it read that it was "lost or stolen." Because the phone was purchased from an AT&T center and we had never reported it lost or stolen we contacted AT&T. AT&T indicated that there is nothing in their records that shows it lost or stolen and that they unlocked the phone. Returning to Xfinity, it still indicated it was lost or stolen. Back to AT&T, AT&T said the Xfinity representative could call and they would verify it should be unlocked and good to go. Both Apple and At&T said it was an Xfinity (Comcast) issue, and all they needed to do was give me a SIM card. They wouldn't. Xfinity representatives that we talked with said they are not able to do that. In total we talked with: 11 people at Xfinity 6 people at AT&T 2 people at Apple ...and spent over 24 hours cumulatively (my husband and I) trying to resolve this issue. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Xfinity turned us over to the rude XM Regulatory Specialist "Karla P" I requested a different representative and she refused to transfer me. The Oxford Valley location without mention changed our landline phone number that we've had since the 1980's. They did not port our existing number. That was over a month ago. We learned because we got calls for a hair dresser. I called directory assistance and we are not even listed. Every doctor, friend, family member, bank etc has our old number. After they shut off my service because they "no longer serve my area" without even an email call or text in advance. they connected me to another service provider that serves my area and i was switched over within 2 days. However, they still debited my card for another 2 months! I spent over 3 hours on the phone with them before they would agree to refund me for the unused service. when I checked the refund, it was for only 1 month not 2 and then for some reason, they billed me again! I spent another 3 hours on the phone with seven different people in seven different departments before I could get the issue even close to being resolved. which it isn't, because I still don't know what's going to happen next month. or how many hours on the phone that will take to be resolved. as it is I have filed a complaint with the FTC. but I am still seeking compensation for the 6 hours of my life they stole from me sitting on the phone with them to resolve an issue that was caused by their billing department. read more

Where I live, I can't get cable from anybody else without going to a dish. Granted, I watch about 1 hour of television a week, but I live on long distance and George W. Recently I moved to PA and decided to get just Internet service from Comcast, from their website they had an offer to get a Modem for free, I signed up not knowing that the modem was being bundled in by a 3rd party to the deal "Offerwire" whom has a Notorious reputation of not delivering on Anything they offer. The fact that the Modem Rebate was being handled by "Offerwire" was not disclosed until after you submit your credit card information and then you are directed to their website and given the rediculus "Terms" that must be met to obtain the rebate. After I signed up for internet service, it took comcast exactly 55 days to come out and hook me up, and that was after making 7 phone calls and a personal visit to get something done. I finally went to the Sellersville, PA. Comcast office to try and do something in person and was able to get someone to come out and turn on the service. I was given a reduced rate of $14.95 by the Sellersville Comcast employee instead of the $29.95 rate for six months for all the trouble - "But Wait!, there's more" as they like to say on the Comcast TV Infomersials. After only 1 month I get a letter from Comcast saying I was not being charged enough and my rate was being "Adjusted" to $29.95 for six months and then $49.95 per month after that...............Gee Thanks for the Great Thank You deal! Ok, now back to the Offerwire rebate of my $169.00 for the Modem and Wifi repeater I purchased from them but thought I was buying from Comcast. I was told in emails sent to me AFTER I signed up that to receive the rebate I must show 2 months of bills from comcast, So I waited 2 months to get several bills together and send in with the Box Bar codes from the boxes and receipts only to be told that I did not meet the required time frame to receive the rebate which was only 30 days. WHAT! - It took me over 4 Months to just get the stuff needed to Hook me up from Comcast and collect some bills. But I think they already knew that would happen. I cancelled service after that and told them to NEVER darken my door again. I should have known that Comcast was trouble when I went into the Sellersville Comcast office and was greeted by a person behind 3" thick Bulletproof Plexiglass windows and a Bomb Blast box to pass equipment back and forth through to the person inside., They don't have that there because they are Loved for their great service and support! If I could have a different ISP in my area of the city, I would've dropped Comcast long ago. Not only is there customer service shoddy (it seems like a 1 in 10 chance that you'll talk to a billing rep or tech support person who is actually competent), but their equipment is, as well. I moved into this house 6 months ago and I've had to replace 3 different boxes on 3 different occasions. Not a very good success rate. Also, lets not forget that every single time I need a technician needs to visit my house, I miss work. My other problem is this: I live in Philadelphia. I'm physically located IN Philadelphia. Yet my internet traffic is being routed through Delaware. My IP address ALWAYS shows as originating in Delaware. You might not think this matters, but it's a very inefficient way to handle network traffic, since I would assume that Philadelphia has its own infrastructure. My only guess is that Comcast didn't build a network that's scalable enough to handle Philadelphia, so they increase the latency of your connection by routing through another state. For the cost of their service (and the time I spend on the phone every single month to correct my bill AND/OR to deal with tech support), you do not get the quality that you pay for. If at all possible, choose another ISP. RCN and FIOS do have coverage in Philly and the surrounding area, just not complete coverage; you may be one of the lucky ones. read more

Went in here to drop off a box when my one time promotion had ended. I waited patiently for the next available agent. The lines were poorly marked, and I failed to understand the need to stand in one or the other since I was next either way, so I just waited by the front to be called. I was barked at that I was standing in the wrong line. There was no line, so to speak, as I was the next and only customer. They could use some customer service skills at this location. Like, you ask the person if they can be helped but you can never let on if you assume they're an idiot or can't be helped. The mailing address, listed as Wayne Ave, is confusing because if you arrive there, you see signs that tell you that the entrance is on an different street (around the corner), while the entrance that would be on Wayne Ave is securely fortified with only employee vehicles allowed. The fortified gate is a tripping hazard in spots, if you are on foot from Wayne Ave to the actual entrance. I got my turn-in receipt which is all I came for, and I'm sort of relieved I didn't have to haggle with them to end my service, or retell them the common story about how their rates going up 40% was my reason for dissatisfaction. I'm sure they hear this every day anyway without needing to pry. However, a little bit of thanks for being a customer, or please come back anytime you need us, would have been ok. I guess their customer service is not emphasized, because training would be too expensive for this outfit. They're just bill collectors, here, not salesmen. read more

Trying to call into Comcast's call center is so frustrating. You MUST restart the modem EVERY time you call. Even if your question has NOTHING to do with how your modem is working. You go round and round with a computer generated answering system. By the time you actually get to a human, it's hard to be nice to them. The customer service reps seem nice, though it took over a week and a half to upgrade my service and I was without home phone service (Yes, I still have a house phone. I use it for personal business use) for several days and it cost me quite a bit missing a call I needed to get. I would have given less stars except for the epic service given by one technical support agent once I finally got through to a human! I got an e-mail stating I needed to turn in a device or I would be charged for it. I had turned it in to the Xfinity store in my town months ago already. Every call I made to the call center was disconnected after attempting to be transferred to a person or it told me that I had to speak to an agent and then it said to either press 1 to return to the main menu or log into Xfinity.com. On the website I chatted with an agent for over 30 minutes who finally said that he couldn't fix the issue and that I needed to call the main number at 7am EST and gave me a case number. The number stated that they didn't open until 7am but didn't give a time zone when I called at 0630 PST, so I called at 0700 PST. Multiple phone calls with each one being disconnected, I finally asked for technical support and that got me transferred to an agent (even telling the computer my case number still got me disconnected after an attempted transfer). I told the agent that my service didn't work because I had turned in my equipment. I gave him the case number and that didn't show up for him and I told him that I was told to speak with customer service. He said he could fix it and there was no reason to talk to anyone else. After 5 minutes he said he was sorry, but he needed to transfer me in order to fix this as the system wouldn't let him disconnect the service. I insisted on a hot transfer and he agreed to not leave the line until the issue was resolved, he even stayed on the line after customer service asked him to hang up stating that he couldn't until he had confirmation that it was resolved!!! After 30 minutes of chat on the Xfinity website and 7 phone calls totaling 34 minutes, I finally got a device and service removed from my account that I had cancelled and returned the device personally to the local Xfinity store months ago. Xfinity's phone tree is horrid and disconnects instead of transferring people. Their customer service was bad years ago and it has only gotten worse with time. The only redeeming feature is that Xfinity's technical support is still pretty darn good. read more

To say that Comcast has poor customer service is actually misleading. They have no customer service AT ALL. I have had problems with them since they installed our services, with all 3 (cable, phone and internet) randomly going out with no warning or provocation. As if this weren't bad enough, it happens often during prime time or weekends when we would otherwise be watching. When we called to try and fix this, the technician who came out who came out assured us that everything was fixed and perfectly fine. A week later, the service drops started again. This cycle has happened 5 times now, with each tech and customer service rep giving us the exact "I'm very sorry, we will work to get that resolved as soon as possible" line each and every time. The most recent tech we tried to get out even came out on the wrong day, then didn't show up on his scheduled appointment. When we called to figure out why they didn't, Comcast had the gall to blame us for missing the tech when he came ON THE WRONG DAY. Normally I would be writing a scathing review of Comcast as we all know they are thinking of ways to rip us off more. Like making you pay extra for a high def box unless you have a special package. Its a delicate balancing act trying to get rid of one thing to save then they end up charging you more for an other. Well things changed after I spend too much on Xmas and my auto pay did not go through in January. With my checking account low they could not debit my payment. I ignored their notice because I knew my account had the funds for them to debit .Why won't they just do it already? The woman says I need to re activate my auto pay. I pay my bill, now up to over $400 from non payment for 2 months plus the next month. Workwise, there is an outage at least once a month. Not being able to get on the internet or make phone calls makes work a little difficult. I don't even know where to start with this company. I've never in my life dealt with a large provider who has extremely poor service, and incompetent customer service staff. I had an issue that seemed like a simple fix...My television gave a notice that my device needs to be activated. After spending 3 1/2 hours on the phone (in one sitting) my issue remained unresolved. Each technician went through the same "turn the tv off, reboot you box...". I honestly don't think these people know what the heck they're doing, I was transferred 3 times, with a 20-30 minute wait between transfers. This experience was extremely frustrating it brought me to tears i was so angry. The last person I spoke with, I asked for a department where I can file a complaint (not that it would help, they're all one in the same), instead she gave me a 855 # (and hung up on me) that was for customers to disconnect their services. I was able to get ahold of the corporate office, who answered promptly, but I"m still dealing with comcast so I really didn't get anywhere. I was able to vent my frustration and was promised a call back from a technician from the corporate office within 24 hours....I'm still waiting....and still no cable service. In all the back and forth, I spent a little over 4 hours on the phone...and nothing was accomplished. It is truly unfair for such a large company to religiously collect customers money each month but we can't get prompt and effective customer service....this company should be shut down. Comcast deserves no stars. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We as customers need prompt service and technicians who can effectively troubleshoot cable issues. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEY. Comcast has overcharged me over a period of six months to the tune of almost $300. When I call customer service to address this, the polite customer service rep always ends the call agreeing with me and assuring me that a credit will be added to my account. That's the good news. The bad news is that they never actually apply the credit; obviously, this effectively means there isn't any good news. I have called them SIX times. Look, I understand that mistakes happen in any organization -- I make mistakes too. But when a customer calls six times and is assured the mistake will be fixed, but then the company never follows through on the fix, that is unacceptable. It has become clear to me that Comcast's method for dealing with customer complaints is to lie to the customer on the phone, promising to fix the issue so that the customer will get off the call, and then to do nothing about it. As a customer who's been cheated by a large corporation like Comcast, there is no recourse. Comcast has a monopoly on cable in Philadelphia (Verizon FiOS is not available so satellite dish is the only other option). You can't take someone to small claims court for $300 because the filing fees are prohibitive. And if you choose to simply stop paying them, they can refer your debt to a collection agency, which will destroy your credit rating. This is the WORST company in the history of mankind. THEY DESERVE MINUS FIVE STARS AT BEST. They have now wasted A RECORD 24 PLUS HOURS OF MY TIME. I spent almost an hour on the phone setting up my new "Triple Play" package. The moron on the phone NEVER EVER put in the changes.......The tragedy begins. The idiot also set me up for an appointment for an installation of a phone line when all I needed to do was pick up the Wireless Gateway Modem at the local Havertown PA office. They missed THREE appointments in a row........NO CALL, NO SHOW. A FRIGGIN' SMALL CHILD WOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO DO THAT. I wasted hours on the phone trying to find out where the technician was but they kept routing my calls to the Phillipine Islands where they actually LIED to me and gave me estimates of when the tech. was going to show up when they never spoke with anyone in the states. I had Comcast give me 3 twenty dollar credits, a sixty dollar credit and lastly a fifty dollar credit that never showed up on my account. The 50 was shown to me by an employee in the office but then it magically disappeared by the next time I went to the office. The manager later took care of that by giving me the modem free for the first year. Of course when my bill came through in the beginning of January, Comcast overcharged me by ONE HUNDRED AND NINE DOLLARS. I went into the local office again and they told me it would be all set in a couple of days. It was still screwed up and the changes to the 89.99 a month triple play were never implemented. I called up furious and the man in the office said it was still wrong and he would take care of it. Allegedly he did, but I never saw it on my computer when I log in. I called billing on the 800 number and the man allegedly took care of everything and gave me what I guess is a useless ticket number because with this asshole monopoly you NEVER have any recourse. He said it would take a day to update in the system so I could see the changes. It didn't update and the amazing thing is after torturing me and wasting no less than TWENTY FOUR HOURS of waiting around for technicians that never call or show up and an incredible amount of time on the phone to these jackasses, COMCAST REFUSES TO EITHER UPDATE MY ACCOUNT SO WHEN I LOG IN I CAN SEE EVERYTHING IS CORRECT OR SEND ME A SIMPLE EMAIL REFLECTING THE CHANGES. This is unprecedented. With any normal respectable company after they screw you over time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time and time again, they will either give you a piece of paper showing the corrections or send you an email, or better yet, update the system. So when I look online and when I call the 800 number the automated lady says my balance is 163 dollars instead of 54 dollars. For the fact that they give THE WORLD'S WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY HATE ME AND YOU, THE PAYING CUSTOMER, I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THE CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE. I am heading down to the office for the 4th time during this tragic mess to try to get these friggin' pinheads to print me out some proof that everything has been done. Even still, who knows if and when it will ever show correctly when I log into my account or if I will be charged 54 dollars instead of 163 on 2/1/15. Infuriating...greedy company once again attempting to squeeze more $ from customers After a substantial increase now that I am no longer "promotionally priced, Comcast has audacity to take a channel which has been part of their package for the 30 years I have had it (TCM) & want ADDITIONAL money for it & acts like they are giving you a deal. So, after a few days of letting me stew, a Comcast rep called me this morning and after reviewing my request gave me exactly what I asked for. I knew they could. I never asked for anything unreasonable. Why was it necessary to initially play hardball with me? Why is the pricing so slippery? It is obvious to me that even though I got what I asked for my more timid or sheeplike neighbors are paying more for the same services simply because they didn't think to ask for a fair price. My personal experience with Comcast is satisfactory but I don't approve of their way of doing business so I still can't give them a ringing endorsement. read more

Comcast customer service is HORRIBLE. I asked to have my service end in September 2013. They continued to bill me till Feb 14 and I only found out because collections contacted me. In addition it took 5 calls with their completely useless customer service representatives to actually get the charges removed.
