I'm a longtime regular at Comal Bar & Grill, practically lived here all summer, and this was my first visit back for fall. Truly, nothing has changed... it's still that good. As a California local who moved to Utah, I've had my fair share of amazing Mexican food, and Comal is still the best I've had in Oregon, hands down. The flavors are honest, rich, and feel like home. The tamales? I would absolutely clean out their entire supply if my stomach would allow it. They're perfectly soft, deeply flavorful, and the kind of comfort food you start craving the second you leave. The family decided to go out for dinner so decided on Comal. Quite a few people but not too busy when we got there. We were greeted and seated right away. After looking at the menu I decided on a Mojito and the Birria stew. Hubby got a Strawberry Margarita and tacos. Started with some chips and salsa/bean dip. Service was quick and the drinks came quickly. Wow! One of the best Mojitos I have ever had. Just the right combination of flavors. The Birria stew was fabulous. Again flavors were great and just enough heat. You can add a few other items that they put on the side for you. Will definitely be back for a drink. read more

We ordered Alambres from the brunch menu and Steak Fajitas from dinner menu. We opted out of the standard rice, beans, and tortillas. Food came quickly, presented nicely. The Alambres was seasoned well, which I enjoyed. The Steak fajitas were well seasoned as well. The only complaint was that the pico de gallo was not well seasoned. Service was excellent. read more

Wonderful Valentine Dinner @ Comal Bar and Grill in Eagle Point, OR. ! I had a delicious meal during an early 'Galentine' dinner. We were seated promptly and had great service throughout. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Valentines Day and I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the occasion. It was quite busy as the afternoon proceeded. Many couples and families poured in. We went on Halloween night. Early dinner (5:00) with my husband's parents. The Food and Staff were excellent! We highly recommend the fresh guacamole with chips. Delicious margaritas too!! Abby was our server and she was fantastic. Highly recommend!!! read more

After a few weeks of having been in and out of hospital and Dr offices, my hunny and I decided to do date night and wanted to try the new restaurant in town. When we got there, there was a lot of larger parties having dinner and I was thinking to myself "how long will the food take"? We promptly were seated... seconds later we got chips and salsa and beans... not even a minute later the server came to take our drink and appetizer order... then the drinks came and they took our food order... even accommodating a special request to have the pineapple seafood not cooked in pineapple but instead molcachete style (I cant eat pineapple). The server barely left and the appetizer came... shortly after the food arrived - piping hot... Flavors were wonderful. My hunny had the pollo a la diabla and was sweating hard... The food at the Eagle point location was not good. We decided to try the Central Point location last night and got the same result. My food was so salty that I couldn't eat it. Waitress didn't offer any compensation when I told her about are food. Acted like, o well too bad. We were there at 6:30 pm and the place was almost empty. I can see why now. We went last night. The service was great. Our waitress was amazing. I ordered the fajitas and it was delicious. My son ordered the chicken nuggets and thought they were delicious. Food is okay, We waited a while for the server to come take our order, then when she came and asked how things were she started speaking to other servers loud and laughing and while we were speaking to her. We were never offered refills on our beverages. Obviously Eagle Point lacks on dining options so this place will always be full of customers. They do a flat out great job on their food. The Carnitas are to die for, the enchiladas exceptional (food snob here). The Habanero salsa (which has to be requested) is incredible, the chips fresh and tasty. The service is generally good, although you may get an occasional clinker. People whine about the prices, but good food costs $. This isn't Taco Bell. Eagle Point is lucky to have it. read more

I ordered two enchiladas. One with chicken and the other with only cheese. Both very dry and cheese enchilada wasn't even melted. I don't know if they how to make enchiladas. The food was so-so. The main reason for my low review is the service. It was so slow, and the waitstaff seemed unavailable and uninterested. I waited for 15 minutes to get a menu. The food arrived quickly, but I had another 20-minute wait for the check. I eventually went up to the front counter to get my bill. I was able to see my waitress hanging out at the bar, chatting it up with other guests. read more

I can not believe the prices I got Carne Asada fries for $17 The fries hardly covered the bottom of the plate which were not very good. Then got the bill & a small Coors Light was $9 what the heck a 12 pack is $12.99 it's almost like drinking water you can go to a brewery & get good craft beer for $7. We tried out the new Comal in Eagle Point and it was excellent! This was absolutely the best Mexican food I've ever had. Tasty, fresh, and delicious. I had the pork carnitas and I highly recommend them. My husband had a burrito. Both dishes were cooked with obvious care with fresh ingredients. We had the skillet salted caramel cookie topped with vanilla ice cream for dessert... omgosh yum! And the margaritas were amazing, as well. The service was excellent, friendly, and efficient. We'll be visiting again for sure. read more

Eaten here three times because I live nearby in Eagle Point. First week they were open we experienced good table se4 ice and average food. Higher than normal prices for drinks. Since then experienced inexcusable poor service. sat over 10 minutes with no acknowledgement no water, nothing, ordered tacos which came very watery, very little meat but stuffed with excessive lettuce and definitely over priced. Sadly we will never ever be back! Medford has a couple of very good Mexican restaurants that meet expectations. read more

So...was very impressed with the decor and cleanliness. Our server was attentive and the food tasted great. However, due to interaction with the manager, I'm giving it a "1". Because of a poorly written menu, we were charged dinner prices for the lunch menu. Also, the soft drink I ordered was almost flat and I had to ask that it be taken off my bill since they were unable to bring me a new one as it would take too long to fix the tanks. Our server was absolutely helpful but we could tell she was getting grief from her manager. He even had the arrogance to argue with me that the soda was just fine. His demeanor was rude, challenging, and misogynistic. I feel sorry for the staff there. It's too bad as we really liked everything else about it. read more

Tried twice. Both times were super disappointing. The service was at least better the second time around but $20 for a single shot Cadillac margarita with Hornitos is complete robbery. The prices both times made me cringe in comparison to the product provided. The clean restaurant is its only positive attribute currently. Hope to see this place do better. read more

Overpriced for the area, quality and portions. Southern Ca prices. The people are super nice, the shrimp fajita's were good I got them both times but wasn't offered extra tortillas and they didn't give a good amount of guac or sour cream the 2nd time. I can get sushi at Umi for the same amount or less and the portions would be about the same, I won't be back, I gave it 2 tries and although mine was fine both times the people I took out weren't happy with their meals. Got a $14 burrito that was meh. Absolutely nothing special. And it was served on a pan! It was so janky. Didn't even get a plate. I received a "salad" with it, if you could even call it that? It was smaller than the palm of my hand and that is not an exaggeration. The prices are averaging $18 and that is way too much for the quality and amount of food. When I got a refill on my water it tasted like cleaning chemicals and had a rancid after taste. Couldn't figure out if the taste was dirty dish rag or bleach. Needless to say I didn't drink any more. Super good food fast service excellent bar with drinks so good! Highly recommend for more intimate nights go week nights Friday and Saturday nights are busy but it moves pretty fast they have a lot of servers and the staff is fantastic! We go once or twice a week read more
