Nice place to walk and see some rock formations. First time here after seeing something on YouTube with information about this place. My hubby wanted to walk the labyrinth but there wasn't one. Oh well. We explored the area and gave a donation for its upkeep.

This place was really cool. I'd recommend if ya in the area you could definitely spend 1 to 2 hours walking around and it's really peaceful

I was having my annual spooky trip with a friend, and we decided to line this up with a tour of the Camp Crystal Lake set (Camp Nobebosco) an abandoned village (Millbrook Village by the Delaware Water Gap). This is located on private property but opened as a Stonehenge of sorts for the Americas. Get your Outlander outfits ready, but don't slip on the hillside. It's a neat oddity, and I would probably check it out again if there's any seasonal change. It is hard to find, the GPS gets confused, so we had to follow other cars that we hoped were going the same way.

Beautiful, relaxing, & a wonderful place to spend time in nature. My husband and I visited for a birthday hike & loved it. There is a decent size pond with lots of Koi & goldfish in it. The stone structures and circles make you feel like you're in a fantasy land! Be aware that this is privately owned land & is not open for public picnic grilling or anything like that. Please be respectful and don't deface property, build your own stone structures, or leave garbage/food behind (there are no garbages). Apparently people have been doing this and management isn't happy. Please be mindful of this when you visit!

Went hiking with friends during a weekend trip...bring the bug spray. Wasn't too difficult to follow the trail around without a map though we only stayed a little over an hour and follow the respective trail markers. Easy to find parking if not crowded. There is a collection box for donations. As you walk around, you can see a house beyond the little pond, a mini version of Stonehenge (or at least what it looked like to us), the labryinth was interesting... best to wear sneakers as there are rocks on the ground as well.

This is not really a hiking spot. This is not a nature preserve. This is not an arboretum. This is also not a botanical garden. So then, what the hell is this place? Honestly I really don't know. Supposedly it is a meditative retreat based on Celtic spirituality which again means, what? The name of the park, Columcille, comes from this guy who is a saint from Scotland. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columba#Other_early_sources_of_Colmcille's_life What you have are some trails that meander through the woods with a few notable markers along the way. There is a bell tower and a chapel and even something that is supposed to resemble a little Stonehenge. Now when I say little I'm not talking little as in this version of Stonehenge, but it's not too far off. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAXzzHM8zLw We came in March on a weekend when it was still really, really cold and for the most part had everything so ourselves. There were a few families walking but the overriding theme was that everyone seemed, like us, to be with their dogs just out for a nice Sunday stroll in the woods. There is a park map to look at when you get there and they also have one on their website but honestly this place isn't big enough that you need to worry about getting lost or that you won't see everything. Just pick a direction and fumble around, you'll get there. www.columcille.org/images/1997ColorColumcilleMap.jpg All trails and landmarks were covered in about an hour and partially because of the cold temperatures and partially because of the "what else is really here" factor we packed up to head home. Awesome that Columcille is free and it's also awesome that it's pet friendly but I can't say that I'll be in a hurry to drive forty plus minutes for a return visit. Don't get me wrong it's certainly a one of a kind place but I could just hike in a state park like Jacobsburg and aside of maybe a holiday weekend it'll be just as free and even more deserted.

This little area of preserved space is an interesting concept, and I loved the many art installations that can be found around every corner. Further more, there's odd little stone effigies to be found all along the walking trails, leaving you to wonder their meaning. That being said, this park is small, and you can see the vast majority of it in less than an hour. There are a number of walking paths, but I was able to complete about three of them in a very short amount of time. If you're looking for an activity to fill the day, you might want to look harder. I'd traveled almost two hours just to see the park, and while I'm happy I went, I do wish that perhaps the experience could have lasted a bit longer. If you're looking for wholesome local flavor in the Poconos and feel like a very easy and short hike, then this place might be for you.

This is a nice place to walk around. There's a lot of information about the doctor who created this free, private-but-open-to-the-public park on its website. We went on a rainy day but I felt it added to the ambiance of the park. There were people walking around and some having a sit down at the covered shelter. When we arrived, two boys had just came out of the bell tower, one complaining of pain because a rock fell on his leg. Sure enough, when we checked the bell tower, a heavy rock in the center had been toppled over. The adults they were with did not bother to do anything. Please be careful and watch your kids! There's a little guest house (Voyager's Lounge, I think it was called) and a port-a-potty to the left, by the pond. Inside the lounge, you can find copies of a map, stones of various sizes and shapes for sale, and reading material. There was a sign that encouraged reflection, writing and relaxation in the chairs provided. It was not manned but based on a code of honesty. Donations could be placed in a mail slot on a locked door inside. The map was decent. We didn't get too far along the inner walk as the trail seemed to start blending in with its surroundings. That being said, you won't get lost as most trails are easy to follow and eventually lead into one another. There is a road along one side if you walk too far from the trails.

It was our first time visiting and definitely won't be our last. We brought our dog, who had an amazing time as well. Read the board when you first walk in. It gives you some information and what they expect (it clearly states 'no picnics'.. and of course, we saw a couple setting up a picnic. Very rude of them). There is a box to leave donations if you wish to do so, which we did. The paths are well maintained and it's a very calming place. It would even be a nice place to visit alone. We went on a very hot Sunday and there were some people there, but it wasn't overly packed. If it were it wouldn't be as serene. We spent about 1 1/2 hrs there and covered all of the grounds. Look up information before going because the story behind this place is very interesting.

Great park for snapping portrait shots and to explore! Should take about an hour or hour and a half to explore.

Climbing Mount Tammany, 1,526', is bout a 1-1.5 hour hike from the trailhead which is located on the west bound Rt.80, Dunnfield Creek parking lot. The red trail is much steeper than the blue trail. Most people do the red trail to the summit and come back down on the blue trail which runs along an brook that has numerous small waterfalls. In this area of New Jersey, the Appalachian trail, 2,180 miles and runs from Georgis to Maine cuts through New Jersey. The Deleware River is located on the east bound side of Rt.80. Along the river you will find the Kittatinny Point Visitor Center. The visitor center has Lenni Lenape artifacts, photos, wildlife displays, souvenirs, a ranger information booth and three NPS passport stamps. It was not open the day I visited. There are clean restrooms, boat, kayak and canoe launching sites. In the summer there are numerous people on tubs sailing south on the river. I kayak during the Summer, photograph the kaleidoscope of Fall leaf colors, and hike Spring and Winter.

The views here are awesome.....the Delaware water gap flows through the stop and the views of the mountains especially in the fall are amazing. It's a two hour drive from Long Island and 3.5 hours when there's a fire that's closed down the Throgs Neck Bridge. But this lake, also near Blue Mountain Lake is amazing. A few years back you would have been hard pressed to find anyone else there but on a hot Saturday in summer, there were about 30 people and some families picnicing, lounging and boozing by the water. The water was warm and almost everyone was a local who had their own kayaks, rafts and floatation devices. We traded beers for rafts and sat in the middle of the lake for at least an hour. The park closes at 10pm but most people leave around sun down so if you bring music, BUG SPRAY, a lantern and flashlights, and the game Apples to Apples you can have yourself a private lake side party undisturbed from 8 - 10p. Downsides: It costs so much money to go over bridges now from NY to NJ make sure to borrow mom or dad's EZ Pass! DAMN! Again, bring bug spray. My legs are itchy, itchy, itchy now. WARNING: It is very easy to get lost coming to this lake. Your GPS may not know what you're talking about because it's hard to enter a town name for the location in Jersey. Here's how to get there (you can thank me later - just don't tell a lot of people) Take 80 to Exit 1 - the entrance of the delaware water gap rec. area. Ask for a map w/ the person at the visitor's entrance but basically you're looking for a general store that leads you down a windy road (past blue mountain lake) and veer left at the rocky path at the end of the road. There really aren't any signs so getting a map and coming in from Exit 1 is your best bet. ALSO BE CAREFUL if you get lost and someone points you to CRANDon lake.
