Showed up, ran a snake, cleared the clog and left. I received the bill the following week and it was outrageous. I called the office and ask why all of the separate charges. 1st visit just to look. $110.00 plus $5.00 fuel charge 2nd visit to snake. $220.00 plus $ 5.00 fuel charge Plus a $75.00 charge just to run the snake. I thought that would be covered under the $110.00 SERVICE FEE CHARGE? He was here a total of 45 minutes, in and out, job done! Office worker said $110.00 is the minimum charge per hour and the additional $110.00 the second day was his drive time! It's 12 miles door to door each way. So he charged me $110.00 to drive here PLUS $110.00 for 45 minutes of work PLUS an additional $5.00 FUEL CHARGE! Total bill was $415 to run a snake in a kitchen sink that was very accessible. Taking advantage of a senior citizen is not good business practice. I will tell everyone I meet to NOT use him and I will not call James Plumbing in the future. Outrageous! Next step is contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Despite all of this, the kicker was that they just let themselves into my house! If they knocked, my dog and I didn't hear them and I came around the corner to a strange man standing in my hallway. My well water stopped working on a Sunday afternoon. I was so very worried about how to get it…read morefixed as I had no water and had to work the next day. I searched for plumbers but regular plumbers don't fix well pumps but one plumber said I needed to search for well pump repair. So I did and I was lucky to have found Dale, the owner. He answered my call right away and came over, found the problem and fixed it right away. It was an electrical problem with the pressure pump ($50) inside the house and not the pump outside ($2500). I was so happy. Then he turned the water back on and immediately the pump blew spewing water into my basement! He was quick to turn the water back off. He turned the 20 year old pump over and noticed a hole that had been a time bomb waiting to flood my basement. Dale told me that he had a pressure pump at his shop and could go get me one and replace it tonight. So, 45 minutes later he returned with a brand new pump and had it installed with the water on to the house in 20 minutes!! I am so grateful that I found this man!! He only charged me for the pump and his regular service fee. He didn't gouge me for coming out on a Sunday either!! I would highly recommend Scheidegger's Pump Service for ANY water well issue you may have!!!
