I had a large maple on the property line that needed to be removed. Asked that all possible fire wood be left. They left me 7 little pieces and threw the rest in the chipper. I asked that I have a yard of chips for mulching: nothing, zip. Workers giving me the stink eye. Then they left a 3 foot in diameter laying in my driveway, cut into two pieces. I asked if he could trim a maple tree in the backyard. Everyone who walked into my backyard always said 'what a beautiful tree' and I had my morning coffee under it's shade with the dogs playing. The worker butchered the tree, blunt cut branches, left dead branch, cuts made that had no explanation. Another branch about 4" diameter fell out two years later with saw cuts on it. The tree is now ugly and I can't sit under with my coffee. Price $3200. Asked another tree trimmer and he just said they are 'old school' whatever that means. They clearly don't understand or give a damn. Never ever hire them. There are too many excellent tree people around. read more

I hired this crew to trim a very large hedge and cut down a large tree. The owner told me the crew would clean up the entire mess. The branches were chipped and cleaned up. However, the entire trunk of a 30 ft. tree was left for me to deal with in my front yard. They did cut the tree into about 30 plus pieces, which weighed over 50 pounds each and was impossible for me to pick up. I was told by the workers and the owner that they do not haul away firewood. I do not have a wood stove and did not want the remaining wood in my front yard. I spoke with the owner and he told me he would not clean up the logs. I was left with a giant mess in the front yard. I had to hire someone to split the wood and haul it away. read more

I was given an estimate of 2-3 weeks for them to show up. At 3 weeks, I called and asked when they would come. Kris bluntly told me it would be 2-3 months before they could get to me because "there's a lot of windblown happening." Well, what about my windblown trees that were lying on my neighbor's fence? I was treated so poorly, that I finally found someone else. I do not recommend this company. read more

Kris responded promptly to my call. His guys came out to do the job, arriving at exactly the time agreed. They did a fabulous job, removing a fallen tree and cleaning up all the debris. It would have taken me more than a week with my own tools and equipment, and I still would have had to dispose of the debris. It took them an hour! Well worth the money. Just .... WOW!! What a professional, knowledgeable, friendly team! I was told by Kris that the guys would be at my house around 7:30 am, and they showed up EXACTLY at that time! They worked non-stop until 1:30 pm, cutting down a massive black cottonwood (80+ years old and three main stumps) and a small choke cherry tree. They put the branches into a wood chipper and dumped them in the location I wanted. They cut down the tree and then cut it into sizable rounds. They ground down the roots that were a trip hazard, as wells as the very large, deep tree stumps. The crew worked systematically; they were a fluid team, and the job was done seamlessly. I will DEFINITELY hire them again in the future! read more

Look no further! Don't even bother getting a second estimate from anyone else. I cannot say enough good things about Chris and his crew. We had some trees pruned, some small trees cut down and also had two very tall trees removed, one being 120ft tall and relatively close to the house. Trees came down smoothly. It was actually pretty amazing to watch them all in action. As the branches came down they were immediately mulched. The crew worked together like a finely tuned machine. The stumps were completely ground down and our property was left very neat and clean. Not even a twig was left behind. All the work was done in a timely matter from the onset of the first call. My husband called Columbia tree service and spoke with Chris, the owner. Chris set up an appointment and showed up promptly. His crew came out at the decided upon date and time and did all the work. They were fast and efficient and courteous. They even cut the trees into manageable sized pieces, which my husband had said he could handle. After the cutting, the men cleared out all the debris, leaving our property looking neat and clean. We are very happy with the excellent service that Columbia tree service provided. We recently bought a house on two acres with about one acre of forest that had not been taken care of for many years. There were many dead trees, unstable trees, and broken trees. Columbia Tree Service was highly recommended to us by our contractor who is doing remodeling for us. We couldn't be happier with them.
