This mini mall train station has a whole day of fun packed into it, basically it's a one stop shop!…read more You have the landmark cinema (100 X's better than silver city), a full sized dollar store, a giant gym, spa (included RMT) and then there are the many eateries spread out through out. You have Tim Hortons, subway, Starbucks, candy store, a pub and liquor store, bobocana, muji, Rocky Mountain chocolate factory (unfortunately closed recently), the hub restaurant, the spaghetti factory and more to come this summer! Not to mention the giant sized Safeway on the 1st floor! There is a large sized children's playground on the first floor close to the Safeway which is cleaned and sanitized every night, there is heaters above the seats so parents don't freeze waiting for their kids to run out of energy. The train station always has security day and night and has a lot of signage (due to the place being so big) so it's easily navigated. It is cleaned often as well!

Part of the Vancouver SkyTrain network, New Westminster Station is on the Expo line between 22nd…read moreStreet (towards Waterfront) and Columbia (towards King George or Production Way-University). It is in Fare Zone 2 and has side platforms, so doors open on the right. The station was completed in 1985 and received an extensive remodel/rebuild in 2012 when it opened as part of the Shops at New West center. Shops at New West has restaurants, supermarket, a cinema and lots of retail spending opportunities. There is a bus stop here with connections on a dozen or so lines. Escalators and elevators are here as the station is fully handicapped accessible. It is above ground and somewhat protected from the elements. But this is Canada, so if it's cold outside then it's cold on the platform. [Review 20887 overall - 63 in British Columbia - 1871 of 2023.]

Except there aren't really any breweries here (other than ABC which is closer to Braid station). The old Labatt brewery is long gone and replaced by condo towers. The one thing that sticks out is that there is a nice elevated bridge that goes over Brunette, such that one isn't forced to go all the way down to street level then forced to walk all the way back up the hill, which I'm sure makes life much easier for some. The platform itself has this funky wheel sculpture. Wonder if it actually spins. Too bad it's between the platforms in a restricted area. Can't check it out without getting zapped or arrested. The other thing that is a bit weird (not sure if this applies to other stations) is that at night, one entire platform shuts down. In other words, trains use the same platform for both directions, despite what the "regular" signage says. The only way to know what's going on is to look at the screens on the platform and ignore the signage.

Its just a skytrain station. Nothing too special. I noticed that this station is not that busy. So…read moregot off this station and walked to the restaurant with a friend. There is a long ramp or walkway that you would have to walk before getting go to the big street. Sapperton is slowly developing.
