They wanted to put a curved barbell into my nipple which just seemed totally wrong & definitely is. Maybe in certain circumstances it's okay but no, I walked out. Just save yourself the experience & go to 3rd Dimension or they'll be the ones fixing it later. It's a much nicer vibe & actually feels professional. I never trusted this place & that just confirmed it. Go somewhere that you feel takes pride in their craft & get a second opinion if something feels off. So happy I went somewhere else! Their jewelry no matter what it says is not "sensitive skin" safe. You most definitely get what you pay for here and if you have sensitive skin of any kind do not get pierced here. Came from out of town to visit a friend and for us to both get different ear piercings. Everyone here was fantastic! Everything was clean - I was nervous and ended up fainting on top of my friend ~5 min after I had gotten my daith pierced (as my friend was getting pierced), but the piercer realized what was happening quickly and then completely took care of me (sat me down, legs up, garbage close by, fanned my face, lights off and gave me water & candy until I felt better). I was super apologetic (and embarrassed), but she assured me that it happened all the time and didn't rush me out of the room, just wanted to make sure that I was ok. I don't remember anyone's names but this piercer did a great job on my friend's helix (she had her hair in space buns). Another piercer (long hair, red ends) did my daith and was quick, efficient, and everything was a lot less painful than I thought it would be. Also, the woman who was working the front gave me aftercare instructions and made sure to answer any questions I had. I'm from Milwaukee, but when in the area I would definitely come back! read more

This is the only piercing place where I have ever seen where you can't take pictures during a piercing any other place I've ever gotten a piercing or been to to get tattooed or pierced has allowed it so it makes me wonder why they don't? Seems very unprofessional and very poorly set up, So we won't be back makes me question if they are trying to hide if they make a mistake. I tried to talk my daughter out of getting hers done here but she didn't want to leave, her ball kept falling off after the first month so we had to put a new one on and realized the inside of the ball was stripped. I am however surprised we didn't have any infection issues and healed up very well. I wouldn't trust the jewelry though. The piercer was very nice I think she would do better in a different shop and if she is an owner shame on her for letting it get run this way. The girls at the front desk where incredibly rude seemed like they were irritated with how long it was taking us to pick what we wanted. They were super busy on Saturday, but it was easy because I checked in and had an hour wait time, they took my phone number and gave me a little warning so I could come back and I didn't have to wait long. Melody was a great piercer, she pierced my conch so quickly that I did not have any time to fret or stress (and I was a bit worried). Everything was really clean and the piercing looks really great. You can tell they are professionals with a lot of experience in piercing. I loved the Colourbox for years--got 7 piercings done there, but it wasn't until the last double cartilage that issues arose with not only my two piercings, BUT also my friend's double cartilage piercings she got at the same time by the same worker. My friend discovered bumps behind her piercings shortly after her piercing, and she went back in to the Colourbox to get them looked at, and the worker admitted that the piercings were done at the wrong angle. They offered her no assistance or repayment other than to use tea tree oil or a sea salt rinse--since there were "keloids" forming. Three years later, I am now fed up with the bumps behind MY piercings, so I went to a new piercing shop. The worker at this new shoppe knew exactly where I had gotten these piercings when I mentioned they were done in Green Bay. He told me that these bumps were in fact, not keloids, they are "pressure bumps" due to the piercing being done at an incorrect angle--these bumps were at no fault of my body, but rather the company. The Colourbox has no mention of "pressure bumps" anywhere in their "contracts" nor on their website. Furthermore, I was told that these bumps are most likely incurable unless I get them completely redone. I had this new place change my current Colourbox jewelry, and they even bled (mind you, I got these piercing over THREE years ago and I care for them religiously seeing how much money I put into my piercings.) As he changed them, he mentioned the poor quality of the Colourbox's jewelry--even advised me to throw away the earrings he was replacing for me because the "screw on" earrings the Colourbox uses quite frequently fall out due to their style. He also said that the earrings where the threads are on the post that goes through the ear are incredibly bad for the piercing hole as well--and I know I have bought at least two of these types of earrings from the Colourbox. Lastly, although the sanitation in the Colourbox seems quality, compared to higher standards, they prove insignificant. At no time during my 7 piercings at the Colourbox have I had to wait for the workers to sterilize my jewelry before putting it into my FRESH PUNCTURE WOUNDS--like a surgeon would care for with sterilized tools. Not to mention how the Colourbox provides only a small baggie for bought jewelry rather than a sanitary package that allows in little to no bacteria, etc. I loved the Colourbox until I realized how much education they lack, the poor quality of their jewelry, and how much misinformation they are giving to their clients. Everything is about money--charging good amounts for poor piercings and jewelry, and even charging for changing earrings they placed--talk about poor customer care. As I said earlier, I used to stand by the Colourbox, but I am now thoroughly disappointed in them-- they are simply not up to the standards of a high quality, educated, customer satisfying company. I would like to rate zero stars just for the money I wasted here while risking my health and appearance when I thought I was getting quality service. read more

I am new to piercing, and the lady at the counter was very helpful in helping me choose jewelry and answering questions. The wait was extremely short, we were probably in the store for 5 minutes. The piercer opened the sterile tools in front of me. She was very helpful when it came down to where I wanted the piercing. She made me feel very comfortable and the process was nearly painless. My husband encouraged me to come here to get my nose pierced. So, one January afternoon we trekked to GB to find Colourbox. And I was not disappointed! The woman at the counter was polite and did not seem flustered by a walk-in. As soon as I came into the work areas, I smelled antiseptic. THIS IS THE SMELL I WANT TO SMELL IN A PIERCING LOUNGE! Lol. The piercer was professional and limited on small talk, which I appreciated. When you are putting holes in my body, I would rather you focus on your work, which she did. She opened the sterile packaging and disinfected the appropriate tools right in front of me. She showed me where she was going to pierce and made sure I confirmed that I liked that spot on my nose by handing me a mirror. She told me when was going to pierce me and had enough "push" behind the needle that it was not as painful as it could have been. I will be back to Colourbox when I want more work! read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I came here last week with my mom and we asked both the piercer and the woman up front if I, a 15 year old, could get my nose pierced. Both of them confirmed that I would be able to as long as I brought my school I.D. and my birth certificate. We even called before arrival and asked again. We finally arrive and get inside and they tell me I can't do it because i'm not 16. I told her that 2 people and whoever was on the phone with me that I could and she said no. Bad customer service! I got a piercing here a while ago and it was the best experience I could have hoped for. I drove almost an hour to get just because I wanted to be sure that I was getting my piercing at a truly clean and safe shop. (I got my septum pierced.) It was only $36, note that they only take cash but they do have an atm. The tools that they used were sterile and packaged kind of like dentist tools that she didn't open until I entered the room, and she thoroughly sanitized the spot of my piercing with iodine and I was given very clear aftercare instructions. Everyone was so polite and they had quite a large selection of jewelry. All I can say is the staff definitely knows what they are doing and I was very satisfied with how clean everything was. read more

Me and my boyfriend both went here. I got my nose pierced and belly button and my boyfriend got his lip. My nose was not where I wanted it she didn't even ask if I was okay with it. It became infected immidately after. They didn't even tell me how to take care of it or how long I can keep it in before I change it. They also pierced my belly button too shallow with not enough skin so it could be easily ripped out. I had to take it out and get it redone at bejewled (highly recommended place.) My boyfriends piercing was pierced too shallow by them and a piece of white thing appeared so we went back k and the lady was all like "it happened because whoever pierced it did it too shallow" and he was like "you did it" and she got really angry and defensive like "no it wasn't". Never go here. It's an awful place and the people are rude and bad at what they do. read more

Had my cartilage pierced and was told clean with just soap for one week if needed. All this did was irritate it. It was swollen and painful daily unless I used saline twice a day. Finally after 2 months I decided I had enough and tried to remove the earring only to learn that they had cross threaded the back when completing my piercing. when I called color box about this I was told they were booked for the evening and could not remove the earring for me. I ended up at the emergency room and having it cut off with a wire cutter. I was told by the doctor that they see many patients with problems after piercing from the color box. The owner often replies to the reviews of people on Google. Most of the reviews are good, which seems suspicious in my opinion. When someone called her out for "making accounts and writing good reviews for herself" the owner acted in a very childish manner and replied "this is a bold face lie". That is not very professional in my opinion. Neither is telling me that I very rudely hung up on her despite her having a very busy workshift in her reply to my review on Google. It has been my experience that when someone protests too much, they usually are insecure about something. In this case, this would be a business which could make sense of all of the "bold face lie" reviews. read more

Of course,like everyone, finally decided to get a piercing I had wanted for a long time. Thought Colourbox was the way to go. Needless to say I was wrong. First mark she made on my nose was too low, asked her to make it higher. She missed the mark, a few days later I decided it was too low so I took it out. The only reason I took it out is because I was told there is a 30 day replacement guarantee, "just come back and we can redo it". Came back to get it redone. They never explained they have to take it out and the person who initially pierced it has to be the one to redo it. What a disappointment of a place.
