My experience today was incredible! I came in as a natural brown wanting to go almost fully blonde and Melissa was the wonderful hairdresser that made all the magic happen. I was a little anxious at first as I'm very sensitive to change but her personality and experience totally put me at ease and the result is incredible. Love this place so much. The cleanliness, the decorating, the hospitality and the head massage! I'm 52 and have been going here for two years and they always give me the color and cut I want. Finally after 25 years of coloring my hair I feel like I found the right place. I had the pleasure of getting tag-teamed by Courtney and her partner in crime, Laura Ferrell. They took my long medium brown hair and magically transformed it into the perfect, lived-in blonde. I didn't think it would be possible but my hair is soft, shiny, and perfectly blonde. I love love love my hair, they completely shattered my expectations and went above and beyond to give me super glamorous color. Marla, the new esthetician at Colour Bar, has been treating my skin for over a year and I followed her to her new space. My skin has never looked better or been healthier. Every 4-6 weeks I go in for a facial, a peel that she customizes for my skin type & the season, and an eyebrow wax. My skin always looks fresh & smooth, the wax she uses never breaks me out, and the products she uses have given me results I've never had, even from a dermatologist. Besides the amazing results, I always leave feeling amazingly relaxed and stress-free. I'm in my mid-thirties and I have had "problem skin" my whole life. My only regret is that I didn't meet Marla sooner! I also love the vibe of Colour Bar, it's a modern & comfortable space in a very convenient location. I will be trying some of the other services they offer, but in the meantime I'll be seeing Marla & singing her praises to all my friends!! My usual hair stylist recently moved away. I looked to the Colour Bar to become my new salon. I filled out the online form (including name, phone #, and email. They called that day, and I returned the call the following afternoon, booking an appt. 3 weeks out. Due to my schedule, I have to take off work to make any appt. work. I arrive at the salon and try to check in--but they cannot find me in the system. They searched my first & last name in their system, consulted the stylist, and I did not exist. After about 20 minutes, they realized I was never entered in the system and was not scheduled. I asked if there was anyway I could be fit in that day, and nobody was available. They asked if I could reschedule--but, again, because of my work schedule, I cannot make any other day without atleast a 3-4 week notice, and the only days they said were available I was out of town.. I understand that it was probably a mistake--someone got busy and forgot to enter me in, or whoever took the call was not the same person who schedules, but what I don't understand is why there was no follow-up. It appears that whoever took my information either did not take it down, or the person making the follow-up/confirmations did not reach out to me. (I submitted my info online AND gave it over the phone.) And furthermore, nobody tried to make this mistake right by reaching out to me since the incident. I have heard great things about the salon, but because of this, I can not recommend it. Again, I understand people make mistakes, but I am more upset about how it was handled at the salon and after. I am dissapointed in the customer service of the front desk, and will not return. read more
