First pic is what I wanted, second was what they did…read more I'm not thrilled about my experience and have shed a tear or two over my hair the past couple weeks. I wanted like a natural balayage type highlights which I don't think this place is very skilled in (highlights I mean) and I basically feel like I just spent over 100 dollars for someone to turn all my hair brown, which I could have done myself for much cheaper. The Pinterest picture is the one I showed her. The other is what she did. Not even close. Honestly, just wanting to be done with the place I just left and didn't say a word about being unhappy but I'm literally in tears as I write this review. I went in initially for a balayage type of highlight on my dark brown hair. I showed Bailey a picture of exactly how I wanted it. I left the salon with half my hair more blonde than the other and with almost white streaky highlights it made me look like I had gray hairs( I'm 26). I told her I wasn't happy and went in a second time to get it fixed. I basically just wanted the other half of my hair to be slightly more blonde to match the other side. Just evened out so my ride side and left side match and just darken my highlights slightly. She basically dyed all my hair back to brown. She toned it so dark that you barely see highlight at all. I could have done that for $5 with a drugstore box of hair color. Again, at this point my hair is so processed I'm leaving it be but I would not suggest this place if you're looking to get highlights done.

Really all I want is for it to look good without spending too much time in front of the mirror everyday. Since my hair requirements are so basic, it should be simple to find a salon and stylist I love. That's not been the case. I've gone through a long list of salons and been really underwhelmed by the talent and shocked by the pricing. I found Brush by stumbling across an Instagram image of a friend's new hair style and it was PERFECTION. I tracked down the salon and stylist info to make my own appointment. I was blown away by the facilities - it wasn't too busy or too loud. It was actually really relaxing. Not only was the salon phenomenal, but so was Madison. She was the first stylist I've seen in years that did an amazing job on my hair - cut and color were both perfect. I've been back since my first appointment and was unable to schedule Madison on short notice. I was a little leery at first, but was extremely happy with the way my hair turned out. I think I've found my new home!

The girl who did my hair previously sort of didn't hit the mark, especially around my roots, so I reached out to Lily to help fix. She did just that! Her pricing is also reasonable, and the salon was in a great location and very comfortable. Lily is also so sweet and friendly - as a blonde, it's super hard to find someone who can hit the mark the first time. Lily did just that, and I've already made my next appointment with her!!

The blowout bar is clean, staff are welcoming, and the products they use smell divine! The head massage during the shampoo was lengthy and was wonderful :) I wish they had shown us a look book of the options before just diving into doing our hair. It wasn't until after my hair was washed that they asked what styles we wanted, and they just verbally explained the style options rather than showing us a picture. We all asked for loose waves. One sister was thrilled with her hair and thought it better than she could achieve herself (she has long, salon-colored hair, and her hair is coarse). My hair was flat (no-body) and looked not nearly as good as I can make my own hair look I'm about 40 minutes. My other sister's hair was flat (no waves as she'd requested) and it looked like it had air dried. Overall, we had a great experience from the customer service perspective, but our hair did not meet expectations for 2 out of 3 of us. It's a fun place to visit, but I likely won't be back.

Shocked by this whole situation…read more I made an appointment to do mine and my mother's hair trial for my wedding weeks in advance. I have it all on text with the owner. We get there right on time and walk into an empty salon. We waited for a good 10+ minutes before the girls came back to the empty salon.. We let them know we had an appointment and they looked incredibly confused and told us we didn't. They called the owner and found out she forgot to schedule it... It doesn't end there. They very reluctantly squeezed just me in to do a trial. I told them we didn't have to if it was going to cause her to rush, but they insisted. I felt like the entire time we inconvenienced THEM. When she finished, it was pretty. Not exactly what I had in mind, it looked like she used too much powder and was a bit messy. Clearly rushed. But I'm nice so I didn't say much. Here's what really got me... after the treatment I received and the rushed hair, they proceeded to charge me 200 for the TRIAL. My hair started to fall down the moment I got in my car. It didn't even hold. I would never recommend this place. There was no apology, no discounted offer for the troubles. This was supposed to be special.. instead, I felt like I was an inconvenience to them. But they truly inconvenienced me (and my mother).

I came in for caramel highlights, to blend into my brown hair. Rachel, the owner of the salon…read morecharged me $600 for a full highlight. Wow. I have lived in Los Angeles and San Diego for the past 8 years, receiving color correction treatments for bleached out ruined hair, highlights, and balayage at high end salons in La Jolla and Santa Barbara. The peak of what I have spent on my hair should not have been in Wilmington, NC, and for bad hair at that! Yes, I have long hair. I have NEVER been charged anything close to $600 and even if I was okay with that price, I am not okay with it for the hair that I left with. My hair is fried, looks nothing like the photo that I showed her, has a bad cut, and has bad color. There are streaks of platinum mixed with deep brown, leaving me with all shades of human hair on my head. When I called the salon after getting over the initial shock of the $600 charge, Rachel couldn't give me a good explanation for how that price came to be. She said she charges by the hour, then she said by the individual service "she had to charge extra for the money piece in front". Then, she told me that she had to provide color correction and that is why it was so expensive. I color my roots with Wella at home. There was no color correction needed. She gave me a full highlight service with toning and it ended up frying my hair and looking not at all subtle. I feel like crying, looking back at how my hair was just a couple of days prior to going in and paying $600 to someone for this "service" is such an insult. Pics below show my hair when I came in, and my hair now.
