We decided to buy our first home in an exceptionally competitive, seller-friendly climate. We needed a team with significant real estate experience, granular knowledge of the neighborhoods in the city and surrounding areas, and an analytic approach to comparing properties. Leigh and Wendy at Red Door were that team. Their reputation within the Denver real estate community--from lenders to inspectors to insurance agents--is sterling. Red Door ensured that we not only bought a great home, but that we made a great investment.

Both were available non-stop for all of my questions, and made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the process as a first-time homebuyer. If you're looking for a more personal, top-notch experience, Red Door is the perfect fit - I've already recommended them to two other future homebuyers in my office.

One night I was on the internet and just happen to type in sell my house now, I found a website that said they could help. Within 5 minutes had received a call from a very professional and knowledgeable women named Sierra. She was able to answer all the questions we had in about twenty minutes. She spoke the language and we felt safe knowing that we were in good hands as this was all over the phone. I explained the condition of the condo and she was able to come up with a fair offer right over the phone. She wrote up a contract that night which we agreed and signed that night. The inspector came within 2 days he was very nice and professional and fast. A couple days later we had received a call from Sierra and she explained that with some of the work that needed to be done to the condo it was a bit more then she had budgeted. She asked if we could help split the extra cost and take out from the current offer, which we were more then happy to do. We ended up renegotiating and closing in 7 days. That was it.! We would also like to say thank you so much to Kelly Wirkus as she handled the closing and everything else. It was super easy and stress free. To say that our house sale had some challenges would be an understatement, and Todd skillfully helped us to navigate all of these challenges. Based on our experience, we can attest to the following as some of Todd's key strengths: a. Knowledge of the market: Todd was knowledgeable of market conditions, which is very important at all times, but is particularly crucial during a rapidly-changing market. b. Effective communication: One of Todd's greatest strengths is his communication skills, both verbal and written. He provided weekly updates; he emailed, texted, and called to keep us informed; and he communicated with all of the people involved in the sale in a way that moved the transaction along, but without being rude or condescending. He really knew what to say and how to say it, and with an understanding of everyone's perspectives and sensitivities. c. Project management: One might think, what does project management have to do with the sale of a house? What we've learned from this experience is: surprisingly, quite a lot! Todd is one of the most effective project managers we have come across, and that is a high compliment coming from us, as we both do project work in our jobs, and often serve as project managers ourselves. When there were unforeseen challenges that needed steady leadership, Todd rose to the challenge, communicating effectively, and making sure everyone was on-task and responsible to the team. We had so many challenges with our closing, and we can categorically state that without Todd playing a leadership role and coordinating with Lender, Title Company, Buyer, Buyer's Agent, and other relevant Third Parties, we would not have been able to wrap up our house sale when we did. d. Empathy: Todd was always there to provide warmth and guidance through the sale in the most kind-hearted and supportive manner, by listening and acknowledging our perspectives, but without being demanding or demeaning. Even when discussing areas where he did not necessarily agree with our perspectives, he was open to hearing our ideas, never put us down, and he stayed positive and enthusiastic about our house sale. He was a calming force through some challenging times, and helped give us comfort through some difficult events. e. Time and Effort: Todd went above and beyond what we expected in terms of the time and effort he put into the sale of the house. Given that we were long-distance sellers, as we had moved out-of-state just before listing our home, Todd was our local eyes and ears. He held multiple open houses, visited the property to check on things, and spent quite a bit of time and effort putting together the weekly updates specific to the sale of our house, which was very useful for our decision-making processes. We hit a snag and had to extend the closing date of our house, and Todd spent a lot of time coordinating things, leading everyone through the challenges, and he even drove to a town that was not close by to meet a relevant Third Party in person to keep the transaction moving. He genuinely made us feel like we were his only clients with the time and effort he spent on the sale of our house. f. Flexibility: When we first met with Todd, and he put together a plan for the sale of our house, we assumed that Todd may adopt a formulaic approach to the sale of our house. However, that turned out to not be true, and we later realized that the approach he recommended was suited for the market conditions at the time of our meeting, but as we progressed through the sale of our house, the previous approach was no longer appropriate, and Todd was very flexible and pivoted to address the changing conditions of the housing market. g. Pleasant to Work With: Todd is smart, funny, supportive, and very pleasant to interact with. Working with him felt like engaging with a wise friend who has your best interests at heart. In summary, we are so grateful to have had Todd as our Realtor, and we highly recommend him! -K & S in Highlands Ranch

I initially reached out expecting professional guidance from someone with in-depth knowledge of the local rental market, apartment communities, pricing, amenities, and leasing considerations. Unfortunately, that was not what I received. Throughout the process, it became clear that the agent I worked with had very limited knowledge of the properties being recommended. Basic questions regarding building features, management quality, neighborhood differences, lease terms, and unit availability often went unanswered or were met with vague responses. Rather than acting as a knowledgeable advisor, the experience felt more like a sales transaction focused on getting me to sign a lease as quickly as possible. What concerned me most was the apparent lack of interest in understanding my actual needs and priorities. Instead of providing thoughtful recommendations based on my criteria, I felt repeatedly pushed toward specific units without any meaningful explanation as to why they were a good fit. The entire process gave the impression that the primary objective was securing a commission rather than helping a client make an informed housing decision. As a result, I ended up conducting most of my own research, contacting properties directly, verifying information independently, and learning far more on my own than through the service I was supposedly receiving. This completely defeated the purpose of working with an apartment locator in the first place. A service like this should provide expertise, local market knowledge, transparency, and value. In my experience, Smart City Locators failed to deliver on all of those expectations. Rather than simplifying my apartment search, they added frustration, confusion, and unnecessary delays. I rarely leave negative reviews, but prospective renters deserve an honest account of my experience. Based on the service I received, I would not recommend Smart City Locators and would encourage renters to do their own research before relying on this company for guidance.

We spent three weeks in April 2015 looking for a 2 bedroom in Denver. She was vigilant in scanning MLS and typically had me viewing properties within the first few hours that they were on the market. We never relied on the listings on Trulia or Zillow that were usually under contract by the time they posted to those sites. I passed on a two bedroom in Cheesman Park after we reviewed the interior design changes needed, and construction costs compared to property value. Chanie found me a place in Montclair neighborhood which I love. I was nervous putting in a bid over list but she assured me the comps supported the offer. As of January 2016, the property value has increased by $25%. An aggressive, tenacious real estate agent is needed in this Denver market. I highly recommend Chanie. It was also very helpful that Chanie's partner Trent, is a mortgage broker with over 18 years of experience. The two work well together to make the process of buying a home seamless.

The Realtor on my buy side left the country and didn't assign someone to handle my transactions while she was away, trying to handle things with little to no connectivity. I ended up asking her to not work my transaction and have the broker lead. I felt like I had to manage every deadline and carefully review each and every contact addendum as they were rarely completed the right way or had incorrect dates. The broker could not keep track of which mortgage company he was dealing with during conversations and the realtor constantly asked me who he needed to deal with- my mortgage company or the VA. One would think a seasoned realtor/broker would know. Deadlines would be the day of or within a day and I would be the one driving what needed to be done and getting updates or an addendum in order to not go out of contact. My realtor did not show for inspection, and left it up to the listing agent to open and allow access for inspection and appraisals which is not appropriate. The closing dates had to push several times, as the agents despite being told to match up the closing dates, failed to do so. The mortgage companies would not set or confirm clear to close because the buy side closing date on the contract was still set BEFORE the sell side closing date. One of the firm's brokers actually gaslit me and stated there was a "perceived issue" with the contract dates not being set correctly in the contract. My agent did not show up for either of my closings, which I find highly unprofessional. The broker argued with me on many occasions about items that were supposed to have been left on the property or repaired, did not seem to care at all- did not seem to be on my side in the transaction. He seemed to only want to 'close' to get his commission and be finished with my business. If I had it to do over again I would not do business with this company. Definitely not the firm you want to use if you are buying AND selling or if you're using a VA loan- and do not use if you're undergoing a loan assumption. My experience shows that they are not equipped to handle these transactions with the expectation you expect from a seasoned and professional firm.
