Very thorough. He was physically more gentle than my GYN at home. I was in and out of the office in 45 mins. I am a nurse and I felt that if I wasn't a medical professional with some knowledge about what was going on I'd still leave understanding the procedure, prognosis and treatment plan. From a nurses point of view I recommend Dr. Thompson without hesitation.

From beginning to end, the process was easy to understand, and Jaime and her staff were helpful. I cannot recommend the staff here highly enough, they are professional, kind, caring, and most importantly of all, they listen.

The scheduling staff at their offices are not able to do their jobs properly. This is actually a gross understatement. I was constantly scheduled at the wrong location, or at the wrong time, or my appt time was changed without alerting me. Or, I would show up for my appointment, and was told it was actually 30 minutes later, AFTER waiting for 30 minutes. On one occasion when I told the provider that this wasn't okay, she condescendingly said, "I know you think your appointment was at X time." No, it was at the scheduled time, the error was on the office's part. I cannot believe that this is where high risk pregnancies are sent, as I'm sure my blood pressure rose every time I needed to communicate with this office. The schedulers need more training, and more checkpoints for oversight and communication with patients. The only bright spot of this office (I frequented the Rose location) are the techs. They were absolutely wonderful, and I feel badly that they need to work in such a disorganized office. If I hadn't had such a terrible experience with the office outside of the techs, I would have brought my baby in to show him to them after birth. I hope their contributions are acknowledged, as they were truly the only positive thing I have to say about my experience in this office's care. I barely interacted with the doctors, which I see as a good thing in terms of the health of myself and my baby, so I don't have much to say about them.

We wanted to schedule our two month followup with him, for instance, and were told he's out for all of November, that we can't schedule it in October because it's a few days shy of two months, and they don't have the December calendar yet so can't schedule it then either. We were told by the staff this is normal in that office and that we couldn't see the same doctor for each visit, it's not done that way. I'd rather just have a doctor he can see without protest and who knows him.

The whole staff has been helpful in setting up my appointments, checking me in, and getting all my measurements before seeing the midwives. I've always been proactive with my care and if I had any questions, they were all answered and I always felt they really cared about my well being and my baby's well being. Also, the staff and midwives always made sure that my kiddos (if they had to come along with me to my appointments, that they were treated well also. When it came me being in labor and delivering, move over doctors and nurses... the Midwives came out like a boss and seriously they knew what's up. They truly respected what you wanted and what your birth plan states. They are that third voice (2nd being my hubby, of course) encouraging you and helping you get that baby out! The first time I was so ready for the epidural, but upon finding out I was already 8cm dilated, no need for an epi! That baby came right out. The second baby was more labor intensive, and I'm not kidding when I say that I was ready to be cut open because I was just so tired. Once again, the Midwives came to the rescue, let us know what our options were and they did what they had to do. I gave birth to my 9 pound baby without a c-section, and I am so grateful for that!!! There is no doubt that my family has been blessed with the Midwives at St Joe's. If you are a Mother-to-be or are expecting another child... This is definitely where you want to go!
