You can just watch as they pay close attention to every detail. Our project had a few unique requests, and they handled each one perfectly. We replaced most of a shared fence, but one section was fairly new and we wanted to keep it. Rather than tearing it out, they added horizontal pickets to our side of that existing section so it blends seamlessly with the new fence. It looks great. The communication and flexibility were outstanding. We were coordinating with a landscaping company at the same time and needed one part of the fence finished first and the rest completed later. That was no problem at all. When we had unexpected travel come up, Ramon kindly postponed and rescheduled at the last minute without any hassle. Everyone on the team was super nice and accommodating, and it's clear the owner Ramon is closely involved in every job, which really shows in the service. I can't recommend them enough!

They came out to replace our 60+ year old fence that seriously need of help (it was beyond repair). The crew arrived on the date per the quote, they were super friendly and courteous. I was very surprised how fast and efficient they were and did an amazing job replacing the entire backyard fence. One neighbor said "I've never seen a Cedar Fence as good as this one"! A fantastic value! They worked very fast was completed in a very short time (considering the rain). I would highly recommend R&S Fencing & Design!

We scheduled for the next day at a time convenient for me. I was thrilled because so many others were saying it would be 2-4 weeks before they could come out. I ended up figuring out the issue and resolving the issue myself so I cancelled the appointment but I appreciated the responsiveness and wanted to make sure others knew about my good experience.

NOTE: I don't generally post reviews and I seriously debated about writing this one, but the work was SO BAD that it had to be redone, and people should be aware of the work they can expect if they hire Golding & Golding Hardscaping/Landscaping. Since Yelp has a character limit, this is an abridged review; the full version can be read on NextDoor at: https://nextdoor.com/p/3-_FqdRYp6C-?utm_source=share&extras=MjYzODE1NjE%3D&ne_link_preview_links=&utm_campaign=1753367328691&share_action_id=56b5a102-7613-45a9-a59b-3ac280465375. REVIEW: Bryan gave an estimate for two jobs (a bird landing and a xeriscaping project). He didn't ask a lot of questions, which had me questioning his level of expertise, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so when I received his reasonable quote, I decided to hire him to do the landing. If that went well, I would hire him to do the xeriscaping job. Bryan estimated the job would take him 4 hours to complete and expected to be done by noon that day (6/25/2025). Although it took him 2 full days to complete the work, he did not change his estimate, which I did appreciate. He laid a new gravel base, and compacted it with a gas-powered plate compactor, but did NOT use screed rails--which most professionals use--to level the sand. When asked about leveling the sand, he said he "levels as he goes." I should have asked him to level the sand, but I accepted his response and let him continue. He completed laying pavers for the 5' x 5' section on the Day 1. The last 3 sections would be laid on Day 2 and would be finished with polymeric sand. We had a very heavy rain after the Day 1 and since polymeric sand is water-activated, I texted Bryan my concerns about how that would affect the polymeric sand application. We exchanged a few texts and his final response was, "I know what I am doing and this is what I do for a living. Can I just have some space to get the work done please. Thank you." Since he clearly had no interest in addressing my concerns and he obviously didn't appreciate my questions, I should have fired him then, but the work was half done, so I let him continue. We also had a brief, somewhat confrontational phone call in which he again ignored my concerns. By the time he finished, I just wanted him gone, so I gave the landing a cursory inspection, paid him via Zelle, and walked him out. It wasn't until after he left, that we really inspected the work. It was AWFUL! One section sloped up, another section sloped down, and one section was mounded (pics attached). While it wasn't highly visible to the eye, it was like walking on an undulating fun house walkway. The polymeric sand wasn't compacted into the pavers to ensure that the joints were completely filled, so cracks were visible around most of the perimeter pavers, one of the pavers was cracked, and the pavers along the perimeter of the largest section were crooked. He didn't blow off the excess sand to prevent it from hardening on the surface. I should have contacted Bryan and had him redo the pavers (or demanded a refund), but he clearly DIDN'T know what he was doing, and wasn't open to questions. Since I didn't want to deal with him ever again, I tore up the three smaller sections, leveled the sand using screed rails, and reset the pavers myself. I left the larger section alone, but it will eventually need to be redone. So, now I'm out the $530 I paid to Bryan, plus the additional cost of buying more materials to do the job correctly. Not to mention two days of my own time redoing the work of a hired contractor. Needless to say, I did not hire him to do the xeriscaping project and I would strongly advise against hiring him for any technical projects that involve leveling or patio pavers.

We first hired him back when he was known as "Steve Beam Handyman," and it's been amazing to see him grow and expand his services with the launch of Denver Remodels Inc. Over the years, Steve and his team have tackled everything from small repairs (like anchoring heavy drapery hardware into our finicky plaster walls) to major renovations (like restoring the exterior of our 1908 Craftsman). One of our favorite projects was transforming our mudroom by removing a wall and building a custom breakfast nook. This was a complex project, but Steve's expertise and creativity shone through. He even suggested a design element in the booth walls that perfectly complemented the Craftsman lines of our home - it's those little details that make a huge difference. What we think truly sets Steve apart is his incredible craftsmanship, creativity, and his consultative approach. He takes the time to truly understand your vision and offers expert guidance throughout the design process. Whether you're tackling a small project or a major renovation, Steve's deep knowledge and experience are on display with every project he does. He's always there to answer questions, offer suggestions, and steer you in the right direction, ensuring that the final result is even better than you imagined. His team is equally fantastic - professional, efficient, and incredibly skilled. If you're looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and truly exceptional remodeling experience in Denver, look no further than Steve Beam and Denver Remodels Inc. They're a standout and I'm so glad we found them.

The most serious issue was the grading of our front yard. After the project, water collected near the house rather than draining away. A timber-edged planting bed they installed also impeded drainage. After our basement flooded, both our general contractor and an engineer inspected the property and identified the grading as a major contributor to the problem. We later had a second flooding event when a major irrigation fitting they had built failed and released a large amount of water into the yard. When another contractor later rebuilt portions of the irrigation and drainage systems, they found additional problems, including sprinkler heads that had been buried while still connected rather than properly removed or capped. The backyard work was also disappointing. The sod they installed ultimately died, we were later told there had not been enough topsoil beneath it, and the yard was left uneven. We ultimately spent tens of thousands of dollars repairing water damage and correcting drainage, irrigation, landscaping, and basement issues. I cannot fairly attribute every dollar of that expense to Mendoza Brothers because multiple factors were involved. But their work created or contributed to several of the problems we had to spend substantial money correcting. I do not write this lightly. In our case, problems with grading and irrigation became serious problems for our house. I would not use Mendoza Brothers again.

Colorado Fence and Deck

Colorado Fence and Deck

(26 reviews)

Should have been a 5 star experience; it was a 2.5 star experience…read more On Day 2 of an estimated four day job, the owner of Colorado Fence and Deck showed up unnanounced to do a "walk through" while the work was ongoing. Shortly after, the crew left before all of the agreed upon work was completed. Crew lead returned later the same day to complete the work after I discussed my concerns with the owner. Within a couple of days, a deck floor board (actually two boards pieced together) near the deck entrances began to make noise when stepped on. The owner confirmed that he was aware that two boards were used when I expressed my concern. We set up another day for someone to come out and address the issue. The crew lead arrived on the agreed upon date and completed the replacement, as well as adjusted the fence gate repair that was already not working correctly. The request for the fence gate to be addressed was not communicated to the crew lead even though I included it in my appointment confirmation text. To date, the adjusted gate is currently working as expected. Unfortunately, the deck board that was replaced is also moving and is making noise, suggesting that the board is not secured as the other floor boards of the deck (which are not making noise). This problem is obvious by sound and feel, even when the dog walks on the deck board. As noted by another reviewer, some of the boards used on the deck probably should have been set aside for a more consistent quality deck floor. To date, the owner of Colorado Fence and Deck has not followed up to confirm that all of the repair work was completed satisfactorily. To be clear, the work has not been completed satisfactorily. 6.19.2026 Update Owner of CF&D contacted me after the Yelp review and agreed to send his crew to address the deck concern noted above. He also offered to improve communication, which was appreciated. The crew lead confirmed they made adjustments and tested the boards for the fix of the movement/noise. After three weeks of limited use, the repair continues to work, so I have updated the rating to three stars. Unfortunately, the gate issue has returned. I will be looking to see what other solutions I can implement to allow full time use of the much troubled gate.

If I could give zero stars I would. They cut my internet line leaving myself and my husband to not be able to work, as we work from home. When asked what they are going to do about it Ryan told us it's not his problem. We asked for some type of reimbursement for our neighbor as she is the one that hired them and he said absolutely not. We were interested in getting a quote for a new deck but not now. Not after this treatment. Ryan was extremely rude and unprofessional in this matter. Not the type of company I would personally ever do business with. Edit: Ryan, based on multiple Google reviews you have the same MO of telling people it's not your fault and not your problem if you or your crew messes up in these circumstances. The initial contact with your crew was nice and we understood accidents happen. Profanity was not used until your tone and reaction to the situation was it's not on you it's on US to get it fixed. Your crew also used profanity towards us. I also want to point the fact out that WE DID NOT HIRE YOU. WE DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING STATING YOU ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES. You can state that you contacted the internet service but you and your crew told us we had to call and figure it out, which we did not you. Regarding reimbursement, you said it was outside your responsibility. It was YOUR equipment, YOUR crew that cut the line, YOUR responsibility. I did not hire you, but yet I'm liable for YOUR mistake, don't think so. You have extremely poor customer service, and you and your crew lack professionalism. You should own up to your company's mistake, take responsibility, and do what is right. Also, we had to pick up after your crew left boardS with screws and nails. AGAIN, we did not hire you. I'm glad your customer was happy but did you even look at the pictures because this is what you call a professional job? SECOND EDIT: This incident happened back on April 9, 2026. It is now May 29, 2026, and we STILL have exposed lines. I was contacted via text by what I assume is office personnel about having the lines buried back on April 22, 2026, stating that they put in a ticket to have them buried. I text back on May 21, 2026, asking if someone was coming out to get this resolved. I received no reply. I have personally contacted 811 three times, and they keep referring me back to the owner, Ryan, as he is the one who exposed them, to make sure they get reburied. According to Ryan, today, May 29, 2026, it is not his responsibility and there is nothing else they will do. You and your whole staff should be extremely ashamed of how you treat people and the poor quality work that you provide. Seeing how the conversation went today, May 29, 2026, with you on the phone, where you admitted that you use a power auger and you knew the lines were there, you just do not care what you ruin or how crappy your work comes out, just shows you have no business owning a company. Ryan, you continuously put in your comments that if there are any problems, reach out to you to be resolved. Well, that's a little hard to do when you block my number. You also blocked my wife's number. Your crew came back out to address concerns that my neighbor had with your work, as apparently it was not up to her standards, as you wrote up above that it was. There was one entire panel of fencing that was not properly cemented the first time. Your crew told my 86-year-old neighbor that she had to clean up their mess by hosing or sweeping it up. You also changed the property line by at least a foot. I am still unsure how my neighbor's pool lines will be buried back on her side, as they now lie in my yard, and the fence is up. Seems like if people complain about your work, you have an excuse like oh, well, sometimes lines get mis-marked and get cut. Well, maybe if you weren't using a power auger (which, according to 811, is not allowed within 18 inches of marked utility lines, and you definitely were within 18 inches), and actually hand-dug to find the lines, you wouldn't cut so many.
