UPDATE to 11/2023 Application of Shotcrete to Basement: Overall customer service and the process…read moreleading up to the actual job done were excellent. Straight Line kept me well-informed with frequent communication. The site crew was on-time, and very respectful of our property, including being cognizant of our new concrete driveway (ensuring the heavy concrete truck was always parked on the street to prevent damage to the driveway -- much appreciated!). Once the crew was on-site, however, I learned that this was not the regular Shotcrete crew chief (he was helping the regular person since he was so busy) and at least one of the crew had never done it and appeared uncertain about his job. When I inspected the completed job with Emory, the crew chief, I observed that the application still had multiple, deep gouges all along the surface and the sides were extremely rough. I asked him to at least level the top ("might be too late since it dries fast"). He did so but it was not smooth and many gouges remained. Now, after several weeks, I'm noticing that the gouges have pebbles that easily pull away. Although I didn't really know what to expect with the final product, I would have wanted all surfaces to be completely leveled so they were smooth. Doesn't seem like that would have been difficult. As I said before, the process leading up to the job was exceptional and every employee was pleasant and respectful but I am slightly disappointed in the quality of the final result. I believe it will hold up over time but it isn't as well done as I had expected.

I feel like they just patted this little old lady on the head and stole my. This will affect the sale of my house. Unless i can find a good company to fix it. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!.

Colorado Structural Systems was founded by Brian and Kimberly Goodman, a dynamic husband and wife Team who have been in the construction world for many years. Brian owned several of his own companies before entering the construction field. They began doing construction 22 years ago and also own Kimber Construction. Having dealt with the new construction phase while building homes gave them the desire to discover a new way of supporting foundations in Southern Colorado. They came up with the concept while trying to improve the movement issues from building with caissons. Caissons were developed as one solution to building homes on active soils. Once hearing about helical piers, Brian decided to research them as an alternative approach to avoid soil settling issues. When you build a home, you need a strong and sturdy foundation in Colorado. Since the soil and landslides are not unique to Colorado, Brian spoke with Hubbell Power Systems, Inc to see if there might be a way to build stronger foundations. In 2013 he became CHANCE® certified and learned how to design and install the helical piers. Since then, he started building his homes on helical piers and is pleased with the result...
