After a freak accident, I went to CFI because I thought something was wrong after the professionals at urgent care said I was fine. I'm glad I went! He was able to get imaging done (that previous doctors did not do) and find a torn tendon in my big toe. Dr. Mechanik did my surgery and was so kind and detailed in his explanation as to what he was going to do. After surgery I was even able to get in for an emergency appointment to get more medication. He was gentle with every checkup and you could tell that he cared. As someone who didn't have a ton of $$$ for this, the staff went above and beyond to let me know about resources that have cheaper options (ex. lower costs for MRI imaging, free medical equipment rental, and finding a PT that wouldn't break the bank). I was truly blown away with how much this office cared. Every time I went in I was greeted by name (not my legal name listed on my chart) with smiles. Renee at the front desk is an angel. While on vacation in Colorado I re-injured my right foot. I called the office on a Friday afternoon and was able to be worked in to their appointments. Nancy, the RN was very kind and professional. The doctor was able to x-ray my foot and although did not have all of my medical information was very informative on what was going on that he could see on my x-rays. Dr. M was kind and friendly, though I am writing this review to encourage others to be super verbal about their intentions and potential billing confusion. I specifically made an appointment for "medical pedicure only" when the two options were "medical pedicure only" and "medical pedicure and consultation with doctor". I was intentionally private pay because of being on Kaiser. During the medical pedicure, the doctor asked me some questions about my health history and foot issues that I assumed were standard procedure as a part of the pedicure. Because he was friendly, it was natural conversation that seemed appropriate based on the fact that he was working on my feet. When he was finished, I paid my $200 out of pocket and left with the intention of Dr. M being a new go-to when I had foot related needs in the future. A month or so later, I received a bill in the mail for a $125 consult. I am happy to say that I called the billing team (reluctantly) cleared up the issue when I expressed my concern. I asked if anyone other than Dr. M gave medical pedicures because of the two options that I had been presented with on the website. I explained that I had made an appointment for a "medical pedicure only" and that at no point did I received informed consent that the questions the doctor asked me became a consult priced at $125. Unfortunately because of this misunderstanding, they were very clear that I was not welcome to schedule another appointment in the future. read more

I have never written a bad review but felt compelled to do so after seeing my new doctor. I originally went to his office with a nagging painful ankle sore. He diagnosed it as a staph infection, dug in it ( very painful ) put a gel and a bandaid on and said he wanted to see me in a week, also gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. After at least 5 visits, 2 more antibiotics and pricey cultures done ( insurance paid ) I was still the same, also digging in it at every appointment. Finally found the wound care center at Porter Hospital , she numbed it before digging, I told her he didn't do that and she looked at me like WTF look and asked who he was! I have had several appointments with Dr. Mechanik of Colorado Foot Institute for a painful corn. Dr Mechanik has given me good advise on treatment options. I find Dr. Mechanik to be caring and respectful. However, I find his office staff to be rude and disrespectful. I was shocked at the way they treated an elderly patient who was having difficulties accessing their system. When I told Nancy that I got an error message from their system when I was registering and I would rather pay after the office visit, she told me to find another doctor. The office staff can't explain their statement. The current office stuff has no concept of customer service and I am sorry for this good doctor who will get bad reviews because of the attitude of his office staff read more

July 19th, 2022, 10:30 AM appointment Dr Mechanik is a great professional, and I had a great experience with him. I was looking forward to future treatment and recommendations. Unfortunately, I found the office staff very confusing. When I arrived, the nurse that checked me in asked me two quesions: 1. You are taking medication xyz, right? I didn't recognize the medication name, and I am not taking medication now, so I answered No, I am not. 2. The nurse then asked me if I was there for treatment xyz? I did not recognize the name she used, so I answered, no I'm not here for that. My chart was on the computer, and we could both see that i have had previous treatment with the Doctor, and this was a follow up visit. The nurse did not ask any more questions, nor did she ask for any more information. I had a great visit with the Doctor, and was looking forward to continued treatment. After my visit with Dr. Mechanik, Nancy informed me that the way I answered the two questions from her nurse earlier had been rude to her nurse. She said that I should have corrected any errors on my chart, like medication, I should have known the specifics of my diagnosis, and I should have been able to explain exactly what I was in the office for. Truthfully, I thought the nurse would update my chart, and I did not know what Dr. Mechanik would find today, nor what treatment he would recommend. If the nurse thought my response was ambiuous, why didn't she ask for clarification? This was a follow up visit, I understand that. I replied to Nancy that I did not mean to be rude. I answered the questions today honestly. I would have answered any other questions, had they been asked. Nancy was very upset with my responses to her questions, and declared that I was playing "f_cking mind games" with her. Apparently Nancy is responsible for which patients are allowed to see the Doctor, and I am now no longer one of them. She insisted that I leave the office immediately. I will not see Dr. Mechanik again. I've been seeing this doctor since the Fall of 2021. Your account of the words that spoke today is false, I did not say that. If there were any previous problems, why didn't you say anything until today? I would have easily found another provider, which I have done. read more

Not sure how they claim to be a foot institute when they can't explain you what's covered and what's not and keep sending bills for no reason. I visited thrice and on my third visit, they billed me twice i.e. one for consultation (where the doctor didn't do a thing other than taking impression) and later they charged bill for taking impression. So, i ended up paying my copay and the bill for taking impressions. When i called, they said they both are two different things and terminated my visit to the doctor. Discuss way ahead of what's covered and what's not with these guys as they seem to be all money minded. read more

went to my appt today and they wanted me to put my credit card details on file. I said no. they said that was thier policy. I can understand if they wanted my copay to be paid by credit card but just to have it on file where any rogue employee can lift the information. I again said no they then said I would not be allowed to see the Doctor for my appointment. Not a sustainable business model. Went for a second opinion. Thank goodness I did. The first doctor I went to told me I needed a surgery. This doctor said I didn't need any surgery and has helped me heal my injury. Wife runs the office and answers text messages even at night. Very friendly! read more

Our first appointment was scheduled, we showed up - rearranged our work day to accommodate the fact that they would only see us in the morning. When we arrived we were told it would be +$100 up front to see the doctor before the appointment started... sure wish someone would have said something about this BEFORE we came to our appointment, like I dunno perhaps when we made it? It isn't for lack of insurance, I was told it's a standard practice at this clinic. Since we didn't have the money at the time we were rescheduled and turned away being told they could not and would not bill us for the appointment. Unfortunately we forgot about our rescheduled appointment, and because of this when I called back to try and get another I was told we had been dismissed from the practice for the no show of our first visit. Again, would have been nice if someone, perhaps office staff, had mentioned this is their policy the first time we went in to warn us. They didn't and we forgot we had an appointment so now we have to go elsewhere to look for a podiatrist for my son's club foot. Made an appoint for 9:45 on Monday, February 4, 2019. His office told me to arrive at 9:30 to fill out paperwork, which I did. I took the morning off of work to go and see him and when I arrived his office was closed. Lights out, office door locked. He and his assistant finally arrived right at 9:45 but I was too annoyed with their lack of professionalism to stay for the appointment. This guy may be a good podiatrist but I'll never know because his organization skills and business acumen are clearly lacking. Don't waste your time. Schedule an appointment with someone who will be open when you get there. I'd give him zero stars if possible. read more

I appreciated the doctors professionalism and advice. I think the office is not messy at all and the staff was very nice.

The lady I spoke to was very polite. With that being said, what kind of treating provider charges $50 to reschedule an appointment? Like if you need that $50 that badly it's probably because your business isn't running too well. People have life circumstances come up and while I understand not being able to accommodate someone who is going to be 15 minutes late (I went to the wrong doctors today), charging a new patient $50 to reschedule is ridiculous and not how you attain or keep patients, who might I add desperately need to see a doctor. I will take medical needs elsewhere. read more
