I explained that I had several recent medical visits (urgent care, ER, MRI, and two spinal injections) that all still needed to be processed by insurance, and I preferred to wait until everything cleared so I'd know the actual amount I owed. The front desk told me I couldn't be seen unless I paid at least half. I repeated that I didn't want to pay an arbitrary amount and then have to fight for a refund that could take weeks. I simply wanted them to bill my insurance and charge me the correct amount afterward -- the way every other facility has done. They refused, so I left. A few minutes later, the same staff member called to say she had "rerun" my insurance and now it showed I only owed around $350, so suddenly that amount was acceptable. Which just proved my point -- it clearly fluctuates. What if they ran it again tomorrow and it showed I owed $0? I had fasted for two days, taken a PTO day, spent money on supplies for the prep, and sacrificed time with my son for absolutely nothing because they insisted on collecting an inaccurate estimate up front. This was incredibly unprofessional and showed zero regard for patients' time, money, or basic dignity. I will be taking my care elsewhere. DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY!!!

How hard is it to be concerned and fix their mistake? Why should I have to pitch a fit to get them to do their job. I love my dermatologist but the staff is severely lacking in customer service skills and the ability to do their jobs!

The entire experience was outstanding. I arrived 15 minutes early and was taken in immediately. I had X-rays done quickly, received a comprehensive evaluation, and was out the door in just 25 minutes. I was also scheduled for custom splints to help with finger alignment--a great next step in care. The office staff was over the top--warm, welcoming, and incredibly efficient. Here is the breakdown: -The office itself is super cozy with long, comfortable couches, pretty art on the hunter green walls and isn't too hot or too cold. i hate going into some offices where you die of heat stroke or you freeze to death! they got it just right :) - It's perfectly located right in my neighborhood...which makes for a much easier experience when heavily drugged up and having chipmunk cheeks right after surgery. -The staff is outstanding. wow. they were very helpful in explaining the surgery process, getting me mentally prepared, giving me all the needed prescriptions and supplies for recovery, and all done with a smile. very friendly, nice, hard working and exceptional people. love it!
