It's been life-changing. Why? 1. Benjy is superb at understanding and adapting based on each student's coaching needs. I'm personally analytical and each class includes very different personalities. It's cool to experience and see him work with everyone. 2. The community Benjy has created in our classes is unparalleled. For various reasons, I'll sometimes hop into different classes. It's an encouraging environment with great and talented people. 3. It's freakin' fun! Every class is based around having fun. It's like a box of chocolates...you never know what you'll get (in a fun way, of course). Whether you're exploring group classes or 1 on 1 training, I highly recommend Dobrin Studios.

I've been a performer of some sort all my life-dabbled in almost every type of art you could think of. After about ten years of "life happens" situations, trying my hand at any "normal person" jobs that I could find from fast food to EMT to insurance brokerage and even Cosmetology, I finally figured out that none of it could fill the void. A friend connected me with Benjy and the first night I was at his studio for a free class, I was hooked. I knew I found my place in the world again. Never have I found a community of caring and supportive like minded people! Benjy has an amazing way of guiding and teaching that won't rip apart a person's soul. He is a great mentor and now friend. I would recommend this studio for anyone looking to build confidence, get better at public speaking and of course learning how to act. It doesn't matter if its to gear you up for a profession in acting our just for fun, You can't go wrong here! (Ps. I may be an actor but I'm not paid for this review. It's all from my heart!)

Our daughter has been a dance student with PerformAbility for 6+ years. The instructor for this…read moreprogram is Ms. Melanie Rufien. She has the educational background (Master's Degree) in Special Education), and well over 10+ years of dance experience to effectively teach and guide children and young adults with special needs. Your dancer-athlete will learn speech, gross and fine motor skills, and working memory skills, all while dancing on a team, making new friends, exercising, and enjoying theirselves. It's therapy, however it's not therapy in a clinical sense. Special needs individuals often feel as though that's all they do is see a doctor, nurse, or a therapist in a clinical environment. This can get to be overwhelming and stressful for them. This is what happened with our daughter. We drove to therapy one day and she refused to get out of the car. After that, as parents we searched for a program for her where she could simply just be a kid. We found it with Starstruck Academy of Dance and PerformAbility Co! Your dancer-athlete will also learn the meaning of teamwork, patience, collaboration, compromise, and so much more! I asked my daughter the other day how long she plans on dancing and she said "Mom, I'm going to be a dancer and a cheerleader for life!" That works for us because dance has improved her poise, eye contact, and confidence. She has came out of her shell. Our family will be members of Performability Co for life! Thank you Ms. Melanie and Ms. Lisa for providing inclusion, love, and care for ALL of the young people in the community. We really appreciate you. You are the best! Happy holidays! I had the pleasure of attending DGMC'a…read moreholiday concert: Do You Hear What I Hear? in Boulder a few Fridays ago. Having supported the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus when living in the Bay Area, I was elated to discover that Denver had an active version of their own who hosts regular live shows. This particular concert took place at First United Methodist Church near Pearl St in Boulder. The sheer amount of singers was impressive! All of the men had a dramatic entry, one by one in their tuxedos, like the beginning of a church service. There was a backup percussion and horns to support them as well. It was a three part concert with a special guest trans choir performance that night. My personal favorite was Ave Maria. It was somber, yet beautiful. I love campy holiday music (and there was that, too!) but there's something about a serious Christmas song sung in a serious place, a capella, that really struck a chord. 'Twas not the night before Christmas, however not a dry eye in the house. Looking forward to more converts to come in 2018.

I've never had any kind of musical training before--though I've always been a huge music fan--and I used to think I missed my chance by not starting as a kid. Louise has completely changed that mindset for me and shown me that it's truly never too late. I enjoy every single lesson. She has helped me learn how to actually use my voice, and I've noticed such a difference over time. I love the warm-ups--sometimes my voice feels weak when we start, but after a few exercises I feel strong, comfortable, and ready to sing. No matter what song or genre I choose, she can play it beautifully on the piano and guide me toward the right tone and technique. She has an incredible ear for music and is clearly so talented. I was nervous starting out, but Louise immediately made me feel at ease. It's a complete no-judgment zone. She's incredibly understanding--whether my body feels tired or my throat feels off, she always has thoughtful, helpful advice. She's also very accommodating when I've needed to change appointments, which I really appreciate. What I love most is how fun the lessons are. It truly feels like meeting with a friend. I leave every session feeling confident, energized, and in a great mood for the rest of the day. I'm genuinely excited to see where this journey takes me. I would recommend Louise to anyone, at any age or experience level. Working with her has been such a positive and rewarding experience.
