She said after listing to my rant that I was a long time customer and she did not want to loose my business. She took care of me and got me a new rate and treated me like a valued customer. You pull in and follow the sign that points to the scale for cans only to be told no, cans are across the street. I go across the street and deal with the gruff employee who can only grunt two words at a time. He weighs my cans and hands me a sheet of paper. I try the two entrance doors to the North of where I am, both are locked. I have to ask some random customer there to sell a junk car what to do with the paper. He tells me I need to take it back across the street in order to get my cash. For God's sake All Recycling, how about a sign or two explaining your asinine process? Or better yet, how about you train your employees a bit better?

Noticing this, I contacted them via phone and chat. The first customer service rep said the driver claimed the receptacle wasn't out. I told them I placed the can in the same spot the day before. I've literally placed the cans just in the driveway not far from my mailbox ever since this service started. I later learned they had a photo of the cans exactly where I always put them. They said on the first call they would pick the recycling the next day. I was angry about the driver lying, I called back and asked if anyone would be willing to take notice of the driver's claim that my receptacles weren't in the same spot ready for pick up. I was then told they wouldn't pick it up until Monday. They also advised me the cans had to be about 4 feet away from any obstacle like a mailbox. It would have been nice to know this from the very first time. We now have a driver or his helper who can't be bothered to walk about 5 feet to put it on a machine that does the lifting for them! I am cancelling them and plan to not use them in the future. I found a cheaper and better company. Guess customer service isn't that great, and we like to leave people in the dark about what the pick-up rules are. This is why we don't see many blue trash cans in this neighborhood. Lesson learned!

I moved to my townhome complex in late July and in early August my HOA gave the waste management's phone number so I could get a garbage can delivered to me. They said it would arrive on August 18, and it never did. Since I've lived here I've had to put my trash out without having a receptacle to put the garbage bags in, which is risky because it's only a matter of time before a stray animal rips open a bag and spreads trash everywhere. Today I called waste management to inquire about the garbage can and found out that when they "deliver" a garbage can to a new home owner, they simply drop it off on the curb--they don't bring it to the front door or even to the garage area, which is where the garbage is picked up weekly. This means that when they dropped my garbage can off in August, somebody else most likely took it. So I asked if they could send me a new one, and the man I talked to sounded a little unenthusiastic--no apology for the fact that I've been without it for almost two months, but said yes, it would be delivered between five and 10 business days from now. I asked him if there was any way they could let me know when it was arriving so I could go out to the curb to get it and he said no. This means that unless I'm on guard constantly during business hours for the next two weeks, I stand a huge chance of the dumb garbage can being taken by someone else again. My unit doesn't face the street, so I have no way of seeing it if it's dropped off. I'll probably end up having to buy my own damn garbage can, which is irritating because it's one of the things my HOA dues are supposed to cover. What an absolutely ridiculous and unaccommodating way to do business.

Since they didn't stop or leave a note it's technically a hit-and-run. I followed up to report this to them. First they told me that they did not go down that street at all that day. When I told them my friends on that street did have garbage pick up that day, then they changed their story and said they only went partway down the street. One of those comments is a blatant lie. They have cameras on the trucks and GPS data and refused to share any of it with me. Needless to say they did not pay to repair my car either. Not only that, but their garbage pick up service is so unreliable.

It took several weeks to dry my chosen red oak slab in the kiln and get the pieces cut, clear coated, and dried, but I picked them up yesterday. They are stunning! Since it will be several more weeks before I can get them installed, I thought I'd at least add in some pictures. Three of the shelves are more "normal" live edge floating shelves, but two of them are very interesting. One juts around a root, and this one for which I've included pictures has maintained its log-like shape, while they made the "top" flat for use as a shelf.
