nothing like what I asked see the severe breakage all the way up from her brushing my hair wet while it's gummy
    Stephanie M.

I found Candice on TikTok. Being new to Texas I've been looking for a new salon, came across her page, and some of the pictures of her work were not my style, but she did have some that was similar to what I was looking for. Coming in I had one solid color. I was transparent about my hair history, I showed her what my end goal was and understood that it was a process meaning that it may take more than two or three visits. I was looking for a balayage, and I think she should have been transparent and honest in stating that she does not know how to do a balayage. She proceeded to highlight my entire hair she asked for help multiple times with almost everyone else in the salon. While sitting under the dryer, she then double processed my hair with more bleach stating that she needed a higher level of bleach. My hair is naturally dirty blonde and has never had an issue lifting. I was under the dryer for a total of 45 minutes. She took me back to rinse while rinsing. She stopped to go get someone else who came to look at my hair then they both left to talk in private. She came back and toned my hair and then said she was offering me a free mask treatment. At this point, I started to think that she had damaged my hair. When we got back to her chair and she took off the towel my hair was still pretty orange and it was just complete stripes. Nothing about it was balayage. The highlights were all the way up in the front later I found out most of the back ones were mid shaft. She did no shadow root. I explained that my hair felt gummy before she hid it with a bunch of products and she said it was just because it was freshly bleached and still wet. I said that my hair has NEVER been like this. She brought over what I assumed was the owner / manager lady who looked at my hair and they walked off to talk. They both came back and blow dried my hair together. She did not flat iron or curl. I'm assuming now because she didn't want to put any extra heat. She covered it with products and shine spray so it felt soft like it would when you leave a salon. I shared my concerns and they both continued to say that it is a process. This happens when your hair is freshly bleached, but that it is not damaged. Once I got home and really looked at it I realized that it was very stripy. Some of it was not toned properly and was very orange and that the highlights were not even. Towards the back you could tell she got lazy and rushed so they were very chunky. Three days later, I washed my hair, removing all of that product instantly felt like straw in the shower while I was washing my hair pieces were coming out gummy. I put a mask on my hair and then when I got out while it was wet, you could see that it was like spaghetti, gummy hair. It was severely damaged. I let it dry naturally to not put any extra stress on it. And the breakage is almost all the way to the crown of my head and it wasn't even cut correctly or even. I have since had to go to another salon for keratin treatments and to cut half of my hair off. I have NEVER in my life has such a horrible experience, and what's more, is it will take so long to restore my hairs health and length. I shared with her that I was trying to color match some extensions I was going to have put in. Now I am even further out from being able to do so because I cannot put any more bleach in my hair. I understand she may not have a large clientele, but this is not how you retain business. This could have all been avoided. Should she have just stated prior to my appointment when I messaged her photos of what I was looking for that she cannot do a balayage. We could have shifted the process or avoided the appointment entirely. This was simply greed and dishonesty. I manage a large sales team and this is not how you retain customers. I paid almost $200 to get my hair damaged and have since paid another $330 to start the process of repair. Did I get my money back? No. Did she apologize? No. Did she take advantage of me by trying to gaslight me thinking that my hair was normal to feel this way? Absolutely. I'm not saying that there were not people in this salon that can do a great job, but she's definitely not one of them.

Never afraid to try new thing with my hair because I know Heathers got me & will help me make the best decisions! :)

First off I have to say that the salon is beautiful. It's a calming space to come into and has such a modern apartment vibe. Jordan at the front is so kind and helpful. I have been coming to Heather for color for 2 years now and she has been amazing. My color always looks great. She takes her time and I never feel like I'm being rushed out the door like in other places. All the staff is so sweet and helpful so spending a few hours getting my hair done is a pleasure.

I can say that this is one of the best hair salons that I have been to so far! I made my appointment in advance with Heather and although I waited for months due to her busy schedule, I was not disappointed with the results! She was very informative and caring from the beginning to the end of the process. I enjoy her personality and the way she makes you feel comfortable and does not mind if you have any questions as she gladly answers you politely. My hair completely changed in a good way and I am obsessed with the new color! I am glad to have a new hairstylist that is extremely talented and open-minded. I can't wait to see Heather again soon :)

Absolutely love this hair salon and will recommend my hairstylist Heather to anyone and everyone. Since summer 2021 I have been going every 2 months for toning and haircuts and my hair has never been this healthy. I put all of my trust into this hair salon to always know what's best for my hair health. 5 stars

Includes the Before - her reference photos - and the after hack job by Alyssa.

My sister went to get her hair cut today, on her birthday weekend of all days, and it was an absolute disaster. The hairdresser, Alyssa, did not listen to my sister's requests at all and needs to go back to school for training. She should be reprimanded at the least for the hack job she did and destroying someone's self confidence. She completely ignored the two photos that my sister provided and ended up giving her a bob with a ton of UNEVEN short layers starting at the crown of her head. There are "holes" along with the uneven cuts ALL over her head. We didn't notice that it was uneven until after she washed and straightened it at home since the salon didn't have water because someone had apparently stolen their meter. My sister was given the option to reschedule or continue with the cut. She decided to continue with the appointment, since her hair was straight from her last blow dry and thinking that the salon could still do a good job. The reference pictures clearly showed a shoulder-length style with longer layers. My sister's hair was long enough to achieve the exact look of the photos, so there shouldn't have been any misunderstanding. My sister was devastated and came home in tears. She didn't speak up after the appointment because she's a shy person who avoids confrontation and she didn't see how short it was until Alyssa started to cut the sides AFTER chopping off the back. After washing at home and blow-dry her hair, she only then realized that there was no way to salvage it. You can see the reference photos and how my sister's hair looked before in the attached photo. With so many short UNEVEN layers cut in, she can't even put it back in a ponytail or half-up style. When asked how many layers she wanted in the "consult" my sister mentioned that the photo looked like she had only one or two long layers. At one point she had like 10 clips in her hair while she was cutting. Alyssa didn't ask her what length and my Sister didn't think anything of it since she showed her the photo for the length. She also said she thought it looked like the photos had curtain bangs and she wanted her first layer/bang to start at her jaw. Alyssa even gasped at her first cut in the back and said it was such a "drastic" cut that she needed to take before and after photos, and then proceeded to continue cutting as if nothing was wrong. My sister was devastated by the final result. It looks like almost 8 inches were cut off her length in the back since the UNEVEN layers start close to the crown of her head. She has never changed her hair length and had never gotten layers before, so she did not know what to expect. Alyssa seemed to focus on the back first and used her clippers a ton, and my sister did not realize how short her hair had become until it was too late when she started cutting the sides. That's when her heart dropped, and she instantly got a knot in her throat. It was too late to do anything about it. When I called the salon to complain, the owner apologized and offered for my sister to come back for a consultation Wednesday with the other owner who could fix the botched job (now thinking back, they could have offered for her to come back the same day to help fix since it was still the morning.) I also did not mention to him that it was uneven since my sister hadn't washed her hair yet to see so I wasn't able to complain about that. I know I've had a few less-than-perfect haircuts before at Color Pop Salon but nothing as drastic as this. After trying out about four hairdressers at Color Pop, I found one that listens and provides great work. I thought I found my permanent hair salon, but I told the owner that this is unacceptable and we may have to take our business elsewhere. We ended up booking a consult at Alan Murphy in the Vintage along with a blow dry to see if they could help style it since they didn't have any hair cut openings. The hair dresser felt bad about my sister's situation and offered to at least even the bottom out for free (since they didn't have any hair cut openings today). They evened the bottom but couldn't do anything really except put a twist on the top and pin down her "bangs". They also did an extension consult (which most likely isn't an option) Back to Color Pop, the owner offered a refund, which was the least they could do, but it doesn't change the fact that my sister's birthday is ruined because of this terrible experience. It seems like Alyssa is a new hairdresser, and I would strongly advise against getting a cut from her until she can improve her "technique" and customer service for future clients. While I debated writing this review, I wanted to express my disappointment although her hair will grow back - it will take time. Overall, this experience was incredibly disappointing, and I would not recommend anyone looking for a quality haircut to see this "new" hairdresser.

He is beyond talented and an absolute genius when it comes to all things hair. Every single appointment I walk out feeling like the best version of myself. Trademark Salon is truly five star from top to bottom. The professionalism, the atmosphere, the attention to detail, everything is done to perfection. Even the coffee they make in house feels luxurious. It's giving Michelin star vibes, but for hair. If you're looking for someone gifted, consistent, and genuinely passionate about their craft, Carlos is it. Hands down the best stylist in the Houston area.

After…read morereading the owner's public response, I feel even more strongly about sharing my experience. The owner focused heavily on whether my appointment was booked the day before or the same day. If my recollection of the exact timeline was off by a day, I acknowledge that. At the time, I was traveling for work and coordinating appointments through my sister, who was calling multiple salons on my behalf while I was in transit. However, that was never the point. My concern was the lack of flexibility and customer care shown throughout the situation. Businesses have every right to enforce their policies. Customers also have every right to decide whether they feel valued when something goes wrong. Frankly, I found the owner's response far more concerning than the original dispute itself. The decision to publicly disclose extensive details about my appointment history, billing dispute, consultation, and private interactions felt unnecessarily personal, deeply unprofessional, and completely inappropriate for a public business review. Readers can draw their own conclusions. Personally, the owner's response spoke far louder than my review ever could, and I will not be returning or recommending this business. Original Review: I understand salons have cancellation and no-show policies, and I accepted responsibility for missing a same-day appointment due to an unexpected work obligation. However, after not visiting the salon for over 52 weeks, I had completely forgotten they still had my card on file. I was surprised to learn I had been charged $117 for a same-day appointment, especially since there was no opportunity to provide 48 hours' notice on a same-day booking. As a returning customer after more than a year, I believe it would have been reasonable for the reservationist to clearly communicate that a same-day no-show would result in an immediate charge of over $100. A simple reminder at the time of booking could have avoided this entire situation. What I find most unacceptable is being told the charge would remain as a credit that could be applied toward future services, only to later be told I could no longer be serviced by the salon. If a business decides it no longer wishes to have someone as a client, that is its right. However, keeping a customer's money as a service credit while simultaneously refusing to provide services raises serious concerns about fairness and communication. Very poor business practice by Tim, the owner. The communication was inconsistent, the handling of this situation was disappointing, and it is not how I would expect a returning customer to be treated.
