I have been extremely disappointed with the sanitation practices at this nail salon. They take…read moreclient after client without properly cleaning or disinfecting the work area. I have personally seen them leave nail dust, nail clippings, and other debris under the manicure stations after a customer leaves instead of cleaning before the next person sits down. One of my biggest concerns is that they do not wipe down the chairs between clients. When I politely ask them to disinfect the chair before I sit down, they act annoyed or give me an attitude, even though this should be part of their normal cleaning routine. I also do not like using the shared hand blow dryers because they can collect dust and bacteria. I simply ask for paper towels to dry my hands instead. Instead of providing a full paper towel, they hand me a tiny square they have cut into pieces, which I do not believe is appropriate considering the prices they charge. Another major concern is the reuse of nail tools. When I request new nail clippers, cuticle nippers, or other implements, they seem bothered by my request. Instead of opening new or properly sterilized tools, they pull used tools from a drawer, spray them with alcohol, and expect me to accept that. Alcohol alone is not an acceptable substitute for proper sterilization of reusable metal implements. As a paying customer, especially at the prices they charge, I should not have to argue about basic sanitation or be made to feel uncomfortable for asking for clean tools. I have also felt uncomfortable because, after making these requests, the employees speak to each other in another language while looking at me. I cannot say what they are saying, but it makes me feel like I am being talked about because I asked for proper sanitation. Because of these repeated sanitation concerns, I filed a complaint with the health department. My decision was not based on one isolated incident. It was based on a pattern of poor cleaning practices that I witnessed over multiple visits. Every customer deserves a clean, sanitary environment and should not be made to feel like they are asking for too much when requesting basic health and safety standards.

They just nod and smile and continue to do it anyway. There always seems to be a pretty long wait even though there are at least a couple technicians that don't appear to be busy. I will probably continue coming here when I'm really in a crunch and I just need something near home. It seems to be very sanitary and there is no visible risk of disease which is my main concern at a nail salon.

I scheduled an appointment with KellyAnn for my daughter, It was her 1st time going to her. The…read moreappointment was for a haircut, to clean up her dead ends...not a new style. When I made the appointment, I asked if she was experienced with ethnic hair. I was told yes, she was trained in textured hair. Once at the salon, daughter in the chair, I asked KellyAnn how much experience she has with this type of hair while holding my daughter's long hair. She looked at me and said "I am VERY experienced." I thought great and continued to discuss what we were looking for in a haircut. I wanted her ends cut off (cut was to go from middle of the back to middle of the shoulder blades). The horror begins...I am waiting in the sitting area for 2.5 HOURS! Remember, IT"S ONLY A CUT/TRIM!!! I finally take peek and notice my daughter under the dryer with 2-strand twists. (KellyAnn was trying to make her curls come in.) Once done, my daughter comes from around the corner, hair is now shoulder length. My initial thought was "okay, shorter than we discussed" I was not impressed. I asked if layers were put in because I could see different lengths. Couldn't really gauge the cut because the 2-strand twists made everything lay different. Once home and daughters hair washed I could truly see the cut, her hair was completely JACKED up!!! OMG!! HORRENDOUS! I sent an email and the owner responded with an apology and he told me he would look into it the next day and get back to me. That was 4 days ago and I still haven't heard back. I even sent a second email requesting a refund for the srvice...no response. I had a great experience with one of their stylists on my curly hair, Tennille. But, I would not recommend KellyAnn for "textured hair". My daughter's hair looks like an overgrown mullet. Her hair has 2 distinct levels opposed layers. The salon owner apologized but without following up on his initial email, I have determined that customer satisfaction is not his priority being he has not resolved this complaint. I requested a refund for service and tip $44.85 ...crickets. I would not recommend this salon based on my experience there. (I will add pictures if this platform allows me to as I move through the steps of posting the review)
