I have 2 recommendations regarding flooring:…read more 1) Don't get travertine tile. Although this natural stone flooring is beautiful, it is porous and tends to get lots of small holes. It is difficult to maintain. 2) If you have travertine tile, then hire Jose from Marble & Tile Restorations Inc to clean, polish and maintain your floors. Jose and his helper did a fantastic job on our floors. He is very professional, courteous, and thorough. He cares about the quality of his work and makes sure the customer is completely happy with the results. We've hired 3 different companies over the years to clean and polish our floors, and Jose is by far the best. He took the time to fill in all the holes that I identified (& some that I didn't!), then cleaned and polished the floors using high quality products. He even gave me some filler compound and showed me how to use it (while deploying the "tricks of the trade") so I could continue fill the inevitable holes as they developed over time. Jose also refinished the grout in our bathrooms with a stain-proof sealer and they now look like new. The cost of the project was very competitive, especially given the amount of time and effort that Jose and his helper put into it. He also polished our granite countertops at no extra cost. Jose stands by his work. He offered to come back to polish a few replacement tiles we need to install because the holes have made the existing tiles unrepairable. Now that's service!
