I went back in for a cut with Chuck and had a great experience and I absolutely adore the cut I got. Everyone was very friendly, there's a welcoming vibe (not pretentious at all like some other salons I've been to), and you can tell they love what they do. They carry Pureology and Redken products which I love. I don't know if I just had bad luck before or if they've since changed something with their operations, but it's now evident to me that customer satisfaction is a priority for them. My first and second visits went fine although little things bothered me like no designated person working the reception area to greet me and the stylist reeking of smoke. My third visit - which was my final visit - I noticed when I got into my car and looked in the mirror that the stylist left one of my sideburns far shorter than the other. What happened to showing the client the finished style in the mirror before they add product and you leave? I went back in and politely showed the stylist her error. This was clearly an inconvenience for her. She muttered something then begrudgingly evened me out WITH NO APOLOGY. I don't think for a second this particular stylist is representative of the salon as a whole; rather, I just made a bad choice. I honestly never thought I would be writing a one-star review for this salon. I really liked my…read morestylist, appreciated the work she had done for me, and fully intended to continue being her client. That is probably why the way this ended was so upsetting and surprising to me. I had a full extension maintenance appointment scheduled for September, but I'm going on vacation and was hoping to have my hair done sooner. My stylist was completely booked and then going on vacation herself. I simply asked the salon whether another stylist might be able to help me. I continued trying to reach the salon through their text number, by phone, and by email. I wasn't trying to be difficult or demanding. I genuinely just wanted to know whether another stylist could do my hair before my trip. The salon was also holding additional extensions that I had already purchased and paid for, so when I eventually scheduled a consultation elsewhere, I needed to retrieve my own hair to bring with me. When I finally reached an employee by phone, I simply explained that I wanted to pick up my hair. She asked why, and I answered honestly that I had scheduled somewhere else because I needed to have it done before vacation and I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone at the salon. I thought that was the end of the conversation. Instead, shortly afterward I received a text from my stylist, who is also the owner. She told me she had spoken with the employee, accused me of being rude to her staff, and told me: "I think it's better for you to just come and get your hair and go elsewhere." She then told me she would not tolerate a client speaking to her staff that way and ended the message with: "Thanks for your business." I wasn't asking for special treatment. I wasn't angry that my stylist couldn't fit me in. I wasn't asking her to work during her vacation. I wasn't threatening to leave. I was simply trying to find another stylist who could accommodate me before my trip and, when that didn't work out, pick up the expensive extensions I had already purchased so I could have them done somewhere else temporarily. I genuinely wish someone had simply called me and said, "Hey, there seems to have been a misunderstanding. Can you tell me what happened?" I would have been more than happy to talk about it. Instead, a client who had every intention of returning was told to collect her belongings and go elsewhere. I'm attaching the relevant text messages/email because I don't want this review to become a situation where it's simply my word against someone else's. I'd rather potential clients read the actual exchange and decide for themselves how they feel about the way it was handled. I'm especially sharing this for other extension clients. Extensions are a significant investment, and in my case the salon was physically holding hair that I had already purchased. Communication and trust are incredibly important when a business is holding something expensive that belongs to you. I'm not happy to leave this review. I'm actually really disappointed that things ended this way because I didn't want to leave this salon in the first place. Unfortunately, after being spoken to this way and dismissed as a client over what I believe was a misunderstanding, I would not feel comfortable returning and cannot recommend the salon. I even waited for a response from her after I explained the misunderstanding, thinking she would at least acknowledge what happened or try to resolve things, but I never received one.
