I spent approximately $1,100 at this salon for extension hair, installation, color, highlights, and…read morea haircut. Unfortunately, the finished result looked nothing like what I expected based on my consultation. During the consultation, my stylist was positive and confident. She showed me a beautiful inspiration photo and the proposed extension color, and she told me I would receive a total transformation. I left feeling excited and reassured. Unfortunately, the biggest transformation was not to my hair but to my bank account. After spending three and a half hours in the chair, my hair looked nothing like the inspiration photos was shown. Everyone in the salon was complimentary, so I initially questioned my own reaction. Later that evening, I saw the photo the stylist had posted of the back of my hair on Instagram, and I cried. My hair appeared to be a warm caramel color rather than the cooler color I had requested. When I contacted management, I was initially told that perhaps my hair did not take color well. After I sent photos, the salon refunded the color service, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, there were other problems. Within two days of the installation, pieces of the extensions were sticking out like little spikes. I sought a second opinion from another stylist, who evaluated the extensions and offered to correct the extensions, color, and uneven haircut for free if the original salon would not. The salon had only one appointment available before my vacation to fix extensions and I could not make that time work. I was told that I would be outside the correction window when I returned and that the salon would not refund the $270 extension-installation charge. I was also told that I was not a good fit for the salon. The second stylist corrected the extension installation and gave me a cooler color similar to the one shown in my original inspiration photo. She also added some of her own extension hair. She told me that the extensions I had received contained warm tones that worked against the cooler result I wanted. The extensions also appeared different from the color I remembered being shown during my consultation. The original salon told me I could keep the extensions and take them elsewhere. Since I had paid $450 for the hair, I understood that the extensions belonged to me. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. I found a talented stylist who listened to me, corrected the problems, and gave me the result I had originally requested. I am now extremely happy with my hair. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this salon for extension and color services. It was an expensive and stressful experience, and I found a much better result elsewhere.

I'll start by saying that Joanna obviously knows what she is doing and gives an excellent cut,…read moretechnically speaking. My work and schedule have changed and that meant that I needed to find a new stylist. I looked up reviews (she gets rave reviews) and then called and asked specifically if she worked well with curly hair (she said she was comfortable with curly hair) and let her know that my plan was to go from long, curly hair, to a long, curly pixie (short cut). Set the appointment. Got really excited! Arrived 20+ minutes early to have time to get a feel for things and make sure we had time to discuss the cut/plan. I barely had a consultation. Was in and out in less than an hour - super quick for such a major transformation. Ordered some curly cream to pick up the next day, and expressed some concerns about the sides still being really thick. Joanna said she would be available to fix any bits that bothered me. (Totally reasonable for there to be some things to adjust after playing with it - it was a big change.) When I called the next day to make sure I could pick up the curl cream and let her know I needed some adjustments with the bottom layer, she didn't have the curl cream (miscommunication between us) and didn't have an opening to fix my hair for a week. That felt like a long time to walk around frustrated and self-conscious about a transformation cut... but, I took it and worked with the cut. (Which now took more time to style than long, curly hair.) Then, on the morning of the fix appointment, Joanna texted early to say she needed to cancel and offered to reschedule... a week later. I offered to come any time during that day. But, she was double-booked all day. (I was going to be out of town - part of the reason I had really wanted to get it finished and be happy with it, since the events I would be going to were very picture-heavy.) I was so frustrated with her lack of commitment to me, as a customer, and with feeling like I couldn't trust her to take my experience seriously. I didn't take the next appointment offered. (It would have been 2 weeks since the original cut.) And eventually decided to find someone else to "fix" it. Joanna is super nice. I think she is likely very loyal to her longterm clients. Based on my experience, though, if you have curly hair or are looking for a very new "do", I can't suggest her. I never felt like my experience or my hair were her priority. What was a very exciting thing for me turned into something I had to have "fixed" by someone else. (Now, it's too short ... but it's not a blob on the side of my head, so that's cool.) I've paid for two haircuts. (Joanna's was the most expensive cut only + tip I've ever had). And I was too self-conscious to happily pose for pics on a really important day for our family. I really, really hate to leave a non-positive review for anybody. We all have bad days. But, this needed to be handled better and I don't want anyone else to go through it. Hair is a big deal. We need to trust the person messing with it.
