I've popped in to Colonial a number of times over the last 30 years. They've always been a bit distant, like you were bothering them by shopping there. They seem to be more attentive to their regular (weekly, daily) customers. However, my most recent visits proved to be total wastes of time. The clerks are either outside smoking or huddled in the rear of the store, running their mouths. They make no attempt to wait on a person who is standing at the front counter. I'm fine with that; I know now that I need to go elsewhere, to a store that wants my business.
By the way, if they really have cheese, they keep it hidden. I've never noticed any. And I doubt that I would buy it if I saw it. Cheese is supposed to be aged, but I can't imagine Colonial moves enough to keep it edible. read more
