On my 3rd visit here, I was double booked for my dry needling treatment with Joseph. Instead of being honest and asking me to come back, they decided to treat me anyway. Unaware of the overbooking, I followed Joseph into a room where he worked on me for 5 minutes without sanitizing the area of treatment like he usually does. He turned the heat lamp to stay ON, told me he'd "be right back" and left the room. With needles in my back and a heat lamp inches from my body, I was left there for the rest of my ONE HOUR appointment. I could handle the physical pain, the intense heat and discomfort, but then the anxiety and panic set in. I felt held hostage with the needles all over my back and arms. I couldn't move at all without the needles hurting me. I couldn't even turn the heat lamp off or move it away. I was trapped. I didn't want to yell to disturb the other clients, so I reluctantly cleared my voice - rudely and loudly - to get someone's attention. Only then did Joseph come back. I immediately asked him to remove the needles (which had been in my body while I lie there alone for ONE HOUR). He took them out, and proceeded to do the routine end-of-session stuff. I had to ask him not to touch me anymore and to leave so I could they dressed and leave the room. Then, Joseph got annoyed with ME. Needless to say, I left Art of Healing in tears. I really trusted this place, but these are the types of interactions that make me NOT want to be a kind, understanding person. Art of Healing, you give me a reason to trust people less and lose hope in humanity. This was one of the most traumatic experiences I've had lately. I couldn't stop sobbing for well over an hour. This was my first experience ever with the foot bath and colonic and I will highly recommend it…read moretime and time over. Rebecca was the one who sat my friends and I, got us started and informed us of details of what come with the foot bath and what to expect. Not only was she informative but she was super sweet and friendly. If you are unfamiliar with the iconic foot bath your feet go into a Spa like tub where they add salt water and a machine that generates any toxins that your body may be holding onto and in return your foot water color will change. They have a chart that tells you what the color of your foot bath means and what is being drawn out of your body. (It's gross but also really cool to see)!! Once we finished our 30 minute session with Rebecca and the footbath we then were instructed to go to a colonic room where Trish instructed us on what a Colonic benefits for you and how to insert the instruments provided. (Believe it or not inserting was the easiest part)! At least for me. Once the instructional was over, Trish and my friends left me to myself to begin the process. They provide you with a disposable gloves, blue, and the tube that will be inserted. As this was my first time naturally I was nervous about inserting myself however I did feel that that was the easiest part on this journey as I did not know you had to release the water and (other findings) yourself I thought it was all just supposed to come out on its own (boy was I wrong)! I did hold the water that was being inserted for too long which causes your stomach to cramp (like you have to go to the bathroom) and for a first timer that's probably not the best to hold in the water you want to release. After 10 minutes I told Trish I think I was done because the cramping was so intense however she was extremely sweet and encouraged me to keep going and I'm so glad that she did because once I was told I had to release it was so much easier!! You do have the option also to see your movements and what you are releasing. Once my 30 minute session was up they instruct you on how to clean up your self they provide a sprayer which is extremely convenient as well as wipes (which are warm) and paper towel. As a first time or they do tell you that you probably will release more after your session is finished and you remove the tube I was one of those people who experienced that and I just used the sprayer to clean myself up. With all that being said I do highly recommend everyone experiencing a Colonic twice in their life it is definitely a good experience I woke up the next morning not feeling bloated I ate two meals so far and I feel satisfied I don't feel overly full, or bloated. There was a television that was off with no offering of the remote or to turn it on. There was a candle not lit. It appeared that there were things available to make a relaxing atmosphere but just not utilized. There was a tile missing from the ceiling.
