I had to rush to Urgent Care the next day, where I received a Decadron shot (Steroid), a prescription for a Medrol pack (Prednisone), Famotidine, and Claritin for two weeks. The doctor at the Urgent Care said I had suffered a chemical burn to my mouth due to the chemicals touching parts of my mouth that it should not have touched. It has been difficult for me to speak, eat, drink, smile, and even go to work. I could not go into work on Monday (5/5/25) due to the severe pain. My lips are burnt, the inside of my mouth is burnt and has blisters. I cannot eat or drink like normal, nor brush my teeth. I have missed work due to being in such horrendous pain. I contacted the provider at Cosmo Med Spa and she told me that "I will be okay" and "she will pray for me." I am in so much pain that I had to see another doctor, my PCP, and she also diagnosed it as burns to my mouth. She prescribed Lidocaine. I am now on five medications and I still in tremendous pain (today is 5/8/25). The owner of Cosmo Med Spa stated that she will once again, "Pray for me." I will attach pictures and doctor's reports. I am a nutrition nerd who reads and studies up on food as medicine, but after years of VERY stressful life situations and trying to self manage my diet, I was still lethargic and moody, even with a squeaky clean diet (no grains, no sugar, no diary). Many of us know that when you can't fix things yourself through diet, there's likely something else going on. It was time to see a doctor who practices functional medicine. Around this time, I also learned that my sister has a specific genetic mutation that could impact my health, so I threw that on the agenda. I arrived at the office with a list of things I needed her input on. She took time to sit with me, review the very detailed medical history questionnaire and listen to what was going on. She was careful and thorough during our visit. She spent an entire hour and a half with me - reviewing my history. No interruptions. No sitting in a room for 45 minutes waiting to speak to the doctor. Me and Dr. Curtis - discussing my issues one on one for over an hour. Who does that anymore? No one. It's not surprising that this level of treatment comes at a cost. Functional doctors can be pricey, but I knew that beforehand. I was also prepared to pay out of pocket if need be as insurance may not cover some of the tests or supplements. My health and the knowledge I gain by working with Dr. Curtis is worth any amount I pay. I am learning how to cope with the stresses of life - what supplements help me in which ways. Which foods work well for my body and which result in negative consequences. My father died young of a sudden heart attack and I am convinced that had I not seen Dr. Curtis, learned the details of my genetic makeup and what lifestyle modifications I needed to make - I would end up with the same fate. The fees I pay for office visits, diagnostic tests and the like are investments in MY health. I'm taking control of my health vs. resorting to pharmacutical remedies and I believe that this investment is worth every penny. I am so very grateful to Dr. Curtis for the work that she does. I can tell by her demeanor that she is doing this work from her heart. She is mindful of the cost of the supplements that she recommends. For example, I was on a 21 day gut rebuilding diet which necessitated a specialized protein powder supplement that was expensive. After the 21 days were up, she and I discussed what to do with the leftover powder and she recommended I use the rest up for meal replacements since it would be wasteful to throw it out and she'd hate for me to lose the $ I'd spent buying it. She also gives samples of supplements to try to make sure it will work with your body composition before you purchase a full bottle. I could not ask for more in a doctor than what Dr. Curtis provides. She is knowledgable, compassionate and she listens. She's not rushing you out of the office because she has to see 5 patients an hour. She is there for you during your appointment time. Her attention is focused on you and your needs. If this is the type of doctor - patient relationship you're looking for, look no further. I recommend AFM and Dr. Curtis to anyone with health challenges. I am a customer for life!

Her last visit was on August…read more25, 2025, at the Alpharetta location where she saw Dr. Laney Hales for the second time (previously she was under the care of Dr. Susan Spitzler, but for unknown reasons she is no longer seen by her). While her acne treatment initially showed progress, the improvements had seriously declined over the past year and we were already considering transferring to another specialist. The real issue, however, is not the medical results -- it is the unacceptable and unlawful billing practices we encountered after this most recent visit. We received over five phone calls and a voicemail in less than 24 hours from "Rose," who admitted that she had made an error in insurance verification. At checkout, our daughter entered her Blue Cross Blue Value insurance information and was explicitly told by the front desk staff that the insurance was accepted. We made the required $55 co-pay transaction, and that was the only authorized payment. Now, after the fact, we are being told that Spectrum "no longer accepts Blue Cross Blue Value as of April 2025," and they are attempting to retroactively treat this as a self-pay account. This is a misrepresentation of payment terms and an unfair business practice. Under O.C.G.A. § 10-1-393 (Georgia Fair Business Practices Act) and 15 U.S.C. § 45 (Federal Trade Commission Act, Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices), a business cannot misrepresent services, payment terms, or insurance acceptance to a consumer, collect money under one agreement, and then attempt to enforce new terms after payment was already made. We explicitly dispute any additional charges beyond the $55 co-pay we authorized. By law, this constitutes a transaction agreement, and attempting to coerce additional payment after providing verbal assurance of insurance acceptance may also violate O.C.G.A. § 13-6-11 (Bad Faith and Harassing Conduct in Contract Enforcement). Furthermore, the conduct of the staff was unprofessional and dismissive. The office manager even remarked that she had to "step out of her very important meeting" to speak with me -- as if patients who have paid faithfully since 2022 are of no importance. The stress and hostility of this experience were completely unacceptable. We have maintained accurate records of our payments and communications and will defend our position under applicable state and federal consumer protection laws. Patients deserve honesty, respect, and transparency -- none of which we received from Spectrum Dermatology of Atlanta in Alpharetta.

I sent in several pics of the way I wanted them to look. I was shown through the implants how they WOULD look. I specifically said I did not want the "far apart" look where I would have to always wear a push up bra. I then had to spend time and money with a hematoma I developed. I did everything I was told. Then I was told they weren't looking larger because they would drop. Etc, etc. spent thousands to have to just go back and still wear the same size bra and swimsuits and have to use a push up- which I was doing anyway. There is no difference in my $60 bra of October 2023 and my $7K boobs from November 2023 when you look at pics. I went back in because I literally cry thinking of what I spent and went through almost daily for NOWHERE near the result I wanted. In order for anything to change I would have to spend another TEN thousand dollars I was told. Most exciting decision of my adulthood turned into the biggest regret of my life. I hate writing reviews, esp because they are nice ladies... but nice would have been making it right as I was told over and over again in the beginning how important that "is to them" and their "commitment to excellence"... if I could go back to the morning of and walk out, I would 1,000%.
