As I pulled into the parking area, I was happy to see that there were a collection of foreign cars there including an Audi, Volvo, a Maserati, and a BMW. I spoke to David who nodded saying "that's usually an air leak. We'll find it". When he later called me, I braced myself for some bad news. He said, "your problem was a split O-ring under the oil fill cap". The charge? Laughing, he said "20 cents for the O-ring". I thought he was joking, but when I went to pick up the car, he refused to take any money! "We didn't fix anything" he shrugged. But they had spent time doing a smoke test (for leaks) and also drove the car around for like 20 minutes to make sure the CEL stayed off. This is an honest business that clearly puts a value on results. I drove 10 miles to this place (no Volvo mechanics near where I live), and I'll definitely be back. Had I gone to the dealer, I would have been hosed for that split O-ring.

When I went to pick it up he gave me the print out and wouldn't take any money for the Diagnostics he did! And it was just in time because the recall was expiring in May. Honest and knowledgeable. I don't think there are two more important qualities in a mechanic. I will be taking my car back for everything it needs and will recommend him to everybody. Thank you.

I learned this after he charged me $1400 for a used part off E-Bay that didn't match up with my VIN number, plus the labor, and my car was not fixed. When I told him the car was none the better, he said he'd put the old controller back. I declined because the problem was with the old controller. He smugly said "Well, I passed your vehicle" and then said something in Turkish to a coworker and laughed. He then continued to say it was a transmission problem. He offered ZERO partial refund. I took it to another local place, H & Auto in Westwood. He accurately diagnosed the problem (NOT THE TRANSMISSION), ordered a NEW controller from Mazda that matched the VIN number, fixed the problem, and my car is now running better than ever.
