Great experience at this dentist office, starting with the kind and helpful receptionist getting me scheduled the next day for a wisdom tooth extraction. Dental hygienist was knowledgeable about the procedure and made sure I was comfortable and all of my questions were answered. I do not recommend this office at all. I went there because I needed a tooth extracted and my dentist said I needed to see an oral surgeon. He extracted the tooth and then convinced me to not only replace the tooth with an implant but to get an implant for a second tooth that had previously been removed. I was told the total cost would be $5,500. I was never told that for this amount it would only be the posts inserted and it would be an additional $5,000 more to have the actual teeth implanted. There was never any discussion that I would be charged an additional amount. When I went for a check up to confirm that my mouth had healed and the implants could be inserted, I was then told about the additional $5,000. Now I know why the parking lot was empty and why I was able to get an appointment within a few days of contacting them. read more

I want to start out saying Dr Collin's can not be Trusted.He and Judith Woods are nothing but two CONS.They tell you what you want to hear and promise everything but do not live up to there word.They told me I could get 6 Upper implants and a permanent zecornia plate for 17000 Dollars.I agreed 8 Months later the temporary plate broke I called them to find out what's next.He said he wanted another 7800 Dollars I said WHAT we agreed on 17000 Dollars and if I didn't like it I could go elsewhere . TLDR: website is misleading and doctor is unprofessional Posting on behalf of my girlfriend who does not use Yelp I made an appointment on short notice to remove an impacted wisdom tooth that was causing me pain. The front office staff were great in helping me schedule and very nice throughout the whole process. Before booking with this office, I made sure to consult their website to ensure that they offered sedation for wisdom tooth extraction. Under the procedure page it said that they did so I felt comfortable booking with the office. On the day of my scheduled surgery, I was taken back to the procedure room and informed that they actually do not sedate patients for surgery. The surgical assistant was very kind and could tell that I was nervous about that, and did her best to make me feel comfortable about the procedure. When I shared that I didn't think I could go forward given my history of dental-induced panic attacks, she was very sympathetic and said she would get the doctor so I could talk about it with him. I was expecting him to come in and be compassionate about the situation since I was almost in tears at that point, but he was anything but. He burst into the room and immediately began trying to convince me to do the procedure, very much minimizing my anxiety and making me feel very uncomfortable. When I repeatedly said that I did not want to go through with the appointment today because I was not comfortable he talked over me, and tried to force me to try nitrous oxide even though I said it didn't work for me in the past. He was very forceful throughout the conversation, and did not want to take no for an answer. When I finally convinced him I did not want to do it and would be going somewhere else in the future since I wanted to be put under, he stormed out of the room and didn't return. I was then walked out by another surgical assistant who was also very kind, but I was left feeling very rattled by the whole situation and am not happy with how I was treated by the doctor. In summary, the office staff and surgical assistants here were very nice and helpful, but the doctor is completely lacking any bedside manner and I would not recommend this office to anyone looking to have their wisdom teeth extracted. read more

I needed a tooth pulled that had lost its filling again. I am so happy I found Dr. Collins because he was able to get me into his office that very same day! The staff is so kind, and the office is absolutely beautiful and spotless! Dr. Collins himself is quite a character, but really knows his stuff. He has been practicing for 26 years, and it's obvious that he has kept up with all the latest surgery methods. I went in with the expectation of just getting a tooth pulled knowing I would need at least a year's worth of bone grafting before I could get an implant. (This is what was proposed to me by another oral surgeon in town.) Dr. Collins looked at my X-rays and told me that he could do a sinus lift and get a pin in for an implant without any bone grafting. I was so happy to hear this, but the best part was he did it RIGHT THEN while I was still numb from the tooth extraction. (Note, my implant was being put in a slot from a previously healed pulled tooth in front of the spot where the tooth was pulled today.) The office staff came in and explained their pricing and how much my insurance would cover. I was shocked that it was so affordable. I went to this office to have my wisdom teeth removed SEVERAL years ago. When I went in, they told me I had met my deductible for my wisdom teeth to be removed. I had 5 wisdom teeth. They told me I wouldn't have to pay anything. So, I came in for the procedure, and it went well. I didn't have any complications. Fast-forward several months later, I receive a knock at my front door from a POLICE OFFICER. This office had sent me a WARRANT for debt! I had never received a bill, a phone call, NOTHING! Again, I assumed that since I had not received a bill that my insurance had taken care of the entire thing. I didn't receive an EOB as the insurance was under my parents name. Possibly they got this, not sure. I call them, and complain about the bill as I was told I wouldn't have to pay anything. Come to find out they had only billed my primary insurance and failed to bill my secondary. After a quick phone call to my secondary and submitting the claim with them, they paid. Come to find out, MY PRIMARY ALSO PAID THE REST! They got double paid. So, basically, they caused me embarrassment for NOTHING. Their billing dept is obviously horrendous! Will never suggest this office to anyone else for this very reason. read more

What a joke this dentist is I am currently pursuing actions against him so if anyone is thinking about going here you should run as fast as possible. I started there with major dental work needed and here it is 13 months later and he still hasn't fixed his screw ups. I went back there today and he had the audacity to tell me that the implant he put in was not something he had done and said someone else haddoneit. I was floored. He tried blaming his own mess on someone else after I have paid him almost $10.000.00 to get all this work done. He is seriously a quack and I am in the process of doing something about this man with the Va. I had a fairly good experience here. I had asked for general anesthesia to get all 4 wisdom teeth out - 2 erupted, 2 soft tissue impacted. When I went back to the room it was explained that it wasn't completely general anesthesia. They don't let you stay asleep too long. The assistants tried talking me out of general...to only go with gas. I do understand why - they don't intubate, but they were trying to talk me out of "general" before the Dr even saw me. The Dr. said it was ok to go along with it though. Good thing because he had difficulty getting a tooth out. I can remember being awake for it, and starting to panic. Something on the machine that was tracking my vitals must have gone off because the Dr told them they aren't supposed to let it get that high. I think they gave me more anesthesia at that point, and possibly turned up the gas a little too. It bothers me that it happened, but I wasn't in pain. They are very honest and friendly and gave me a detailed aftercare sheet as well as a syringe, gauze, and prescriptions. After 2 days I had little pain, recovery was much better than I thought it would be. read more

Dr Collins's billing staff are inept...or worse. I agree with the last person who said their practices are unscrupulous. We were overcharged over $500 from a wisdom tooth extraction in November 2017 and it is now May 2018 and we have spent probably 35 hours calling them. They have employed all types of delay tactics (didn't understand the insurance, don't have our records available, credited our card & don't know why it hasn't gone through...); we haven't even been able to get a written accurate account of the billing! Everyone seems really nice but I feel as though they are very unprofessional. One particular nurse and receptionist think that a glass window and door are some magic sound proof shield but I could hear everything they were saying including very rude comments about my situation- especially assuming that my mother could not speak English because of her foreign name and about how I was going to pay. The more I think about it, I felt as though i should of personally spoke with that nurse and receptionist, but I am not confrontational. read more
