My husband and I booked with Collideskope more than a year before our wedding after hearing about them through our photographer. I am so happy we chose to have them be our videographer for our wedding. The process from day 1 to the day of the wedding was so simple and easy. We first got to talk with Toby who explained how they work, their background and what we can expect from them. We loved the style of videos that Collideskope offered and we decided to book with them afterwards. When it was a week before our wedding, our contact person became Timothy. I really should have given this review 4 years ago... To this day, I am still utterly disappointed that I chose Collideskope Studios as the videographers for my wedding day. Before my wife and I selected Collideskope, we did everything we could to do our due dilligence on them as a wedding vendor. Like each of my other vendors, Tim & Toby took care and time to explain their packages and their process. This part of my experience was okay (maybe 3/5 stars here). After our wedding day was over, we made sure to pay all our vendors, including Collideskope as quickly as we could and within the agreed upon timelines. Collideskope promised they would deliver our wedding video and raw footage shortly after. IT TOOK THEM 1 YEAR TO GET US OUR CONTENT. We were married on 8/12/2017. It took pulling teeth to finally receive our video September 2018. ONE YEAR LATER. OVER MONTHS BEYOND WHEN THEY PROMISED. After months of hounding, ignored calls and emails, and finally me having to talk to our wedding coordinator (who originally recommended them). They kept promising they were close to completion, and we had to keep checking in week after week and month after month. This operation is completely irresponsible and has zero respect for peoples time and energy. We were nothing but cordial with them over the 1 YEAR that we were trying to get our video from them in fear that they would not deliver at all. We just wanted our memories and lived that entire year in anxiety that they would keep our video hostage or even worse, lost it. When we started our wedding planning process the very first thing I knew we had to get booked was the videographer knowing many vendors were already booked out due to the push out from COVID. A close friend of mine recommended Collideskope since that was who she used for her wedding and I was absolutely in love with their video so I was excited to know they had availability for our wedding date. After reaching out, soon after we got a call from Toby who walked through the whole process and answered all of our questions (we had a lot of questions lol). He was so patient with us knowing we were already quite overwhelmed with the planning process and also spent the time to actually get to know us as well so it was a very enjoyable conversation unlike many other vendors we talked to. As we got closer to the wedding weekend the team reached back out to get more details of the wedding timeline and they even made some suggestions of what to adjust since they have been through this process before and knew what would be realistic. Unfortunately on the actual wedding day there were quite a few problems with our event/venue coordinator so my husband and I were extremely overwhelmed & stressed. But when Tim came on site with his team everything flipped around for the better. He had this calm energy and helped everyone stay on track without causing any stress or panic dealing with everyone. My husband and I are also quite awkward and shy in front of the camera but Tim knew exactly how to direct us and made us feel so comfortable. Also there happened to be EXTREME heat and our wedding ceremony was outside so although the weather was unbearable Tim and his team were super professional and kept things moving. After our wedding we knew it would be a while to get the video back but it was clearly stated in our contract that Toby went over with us so we knew around when to expect it. Even so, we would get occasional emails from the Collideskope team keeping us updated. When we got the first draft of the video, my husband and I couldn't stop laughing and smiling watching it together. The editing of all the clips and music was PERFECTION, we didn't even have any edits! We got all the feels from our wedding day which seemed to go by so fast and now we are so appreciative that we have this to look back on. Although pictures are a must for a wedding, I will admit there is nothing like watching a video and seeing all these moments that you didn't even know happened and being able to see candid moments and hear voices of our loved ones. What made us choose Collideskope was definitely the quality of their work, the fair pricing, the ease of communication, and we got along with Toby really well, We were not too picky on the song selection for our video and they totally nailed it! We received our video in about 5 weeks after our wedding and it had everything we wanted. We wanted a few things edited out and Toby + team was really understanding about it. Easy going, accommodating, and quick! This review is super overdue. I could say multiple events, wedding recovery, and holidays got in the way, but let's be honest, it's really just me. Outreach and planning -- My wedding was the end of September and I reached out to Tim and Collideskope in the spring. Working with Tim was super easy. I thought there would be more involved with walking the venue and doing more things in person, but I didn't have to worry about it at all, which was especially great during the pandemic. We had a couple phone calls for planning and schedule overview - loved the worksheet to fill out for all your details in one place, including questions to get to know what you care about most. Day of -- What a breeze - they go so well with the flow. We had a long day with tea ceremony and 1.5 hour travel to reception venue in the woods. The only time I really remember them engaging was a reminder beforehand to be aware of not eating during speeches so that I'm not stuffing my face rather than reacting - thank goodness! I thought I was detail oriented but hadn't thought of that. They brought equipment and lights I didn't even think they would have. Video -- I was willing to accept that highlight video and all the footage could take like, 6 months. Who knows, things get crazy, but hopefully we'd have it in 3 months. IT ARRIVED IN 5.5 WEEKS, earlier than they estimated. Tim shared the longer footage on their site, which I combed through for favorite moments I wanted to exchange in the highlight reel. I didn't have to ask for major changes (adding some guest appearances, using a different portion of vows, etc) and Tim delivered the edit the same night I sent feedback - impressive. In all -- Collideskope took care of everything. Let them, and then don't worry about a thing. They are total professionals and totally unassuming. I waffled on whether we should have videography since I wanted to play things down, but they didn't make us feel like we were on a reality show, and the footage is totally worth it. Collideskope was overall great to work with. I absolutely loved my wedding video and they did an awesome job with getting great shots. What I loved about working with Collideskope the most was that they were extremely diligent in making sure they edited the video so that it was more to my taste (upbeat and not so drawn-out romantic like many other wedding videos). They totally did something different with my video than I've seen on their portfolio, and I really appreciate the flexibility. They were also extremely fast with my edits. Timothy was so kind to me even when I had last minute requests. Collideskope went over and beyond our expectations. From the very start we felt that we were in good hands. Toby was genuinely helpful and did not make us feel stupid asking redundant and what we felt as "dumb" questions. Most couples have no clue what they're doing and it can be pretty overwhelming, but Toby guided us throughout the process. Out of all the vendors we did business with, this was the easiest. What also made it easy was his quick responses to my emails! Communication is huge! We decided to go with the package that includes a wedding highlight, feature film, and documentary edits of the ceremony and all of the speeches. The highlight was a short and sweet video that we shared on social media, while the feature film was more like a movie or story of how our entire day went. The songs they chose were on point! This is a big deal for me most especially. They asked us for a few samples of songs we like (which my husband and I have very different taste in music) and surprisingly they chose songs that was not only fitting to our wedding but also pleased both my husband and I! Also, we were pleased and very impressed with the composition and details of the videos. It takes a lot of talent to put something together like this. Now Tim is amazingly talented. He has a good eye and he's great at directing us during the getting ready, first look, and bridal/wedding party portion. Then, from the ceremony to the end of the night we had no recollection of him and his assistant. Not once did they get in our way! If there's ONE easy thing you can do when it comes to planning your wedding, it's to choose Collideskope to do the videography. Please bear my semi-novel review as I think it's worth reading. I hired Collideskope to do the videography for my wedding in Portland, OR this past August. Yes, I did the unbelievable; I bravely sacrificed myself at the alter and tied myself to one man for the rest of my life--I got married. I even did it with my eyes wide opened AND without crying or wailing--impressive, I know! Getting married, or rather the planning and execution of a wedding, is a major pain in the ass (and overrated). However, one of the BEST things I did for my wedding (besides saying "I do" without a shotgun against my back) was hire Collideskope to help capture this special once-in-a-lifetime (hopefully) moment. The first thing I did was book Collideskope a year before my wedding date because I know they have a great reputation and are in high demand especially during wedding season. I did my homework and contacted Timothy (owner) to inquire about Collideskope's packages and to view current samples of their work. I was impressed by the creativity and beauty of Timothy's work. My husband was literally awed by the aesthetic of his videos and the details that made the moments he captured touch you. The thing that impressed me most and I highly appreciated about Collideskope was not only the professionalism displayed by Timothy and his crew, but the obvious high level of experience and knowledge Timothy had with weddings. Timothy and his crew truly have a genuine interest in their clients and it's a priority for them to capture nothing but perfect moments and emotions that tell nothing but a beautiful story about your special day. Timothy made suggestions which helped our photographer capture some great moments and vice versa. My many years of drinking and lack of sleep from partying and studying during my undergrad and graduate years have rewarded me with the art of forgetfulness. It also probably doesn't help that my middle name is also "Procastinator".. LOL. Timothy was amazing with this because he would text/call me weeks prior to my wedding and ask me questions, follow-ups, or provide suggestions about details I didn't think about or forgot. He was the one who helped remind me about getting a veil and to think about what I may want to consider wearing for the shoot we did the day before the wedding based on the kind of "moment" we wanted to capture that day or what he visualized based on where we wanted to shoot. He also helped me with other details I didn't think about or forgot as it relates to the wedding ceremony itself. There were SO many other little details that Timothy helped me with I swear he would kick ass as a wedding planner! And like one of the other reviewers stated, the "exceptional attention to details" and instincts Timothy (Collideskope) has for capturing these little moments you wouldn't ever think about makes an enormous difference between a good video to an unforgettable amazing video. There's so much more awesome things I can say about Collideskope, but lets keep this to a semi-novel and not a full novel. Just know that you won't regret using Collideskope and it honestly will be the best and easiest decision you can make for your wedding if you go with them. I promise--you'll LOVE them like we did. No words can express how impressed I am with Collideskope Studios, never the less how much fun we had working with them. When I finally convinced my husband to hire someone to capture our special day through videography, we met Toby and he introduced us to cinematography. We definitely did our research, but what sealed the deal with Collideskope was not only did their style matched what we were looking for, but that Toby was very personable, thorough and knowledgable. As the big day got closer, we met Timothy. It was Collideskope's idea to meet with their clients to go over the details, a more personal approach, which I really appreciated because it showed how much they cared about their work and clients. Not only was he very personable, but he was very enthusiastic and excited for the opportunity to work with us. He was also very informative about the big day, sharing insights and ideas with us about the logistics and the perfect moments to capture. Needless to say, Timothy surprised us with a special gift from the team. We cannot thank you enough for Collideskope's gift and for introducing us to Ur-Take! It was a huge hit at our wedding and guests could not stop raving about the idea of taking photos at each table, as if our guests had their own table photo booth! On our big day, Timothy and his crew were very punctual, professional and energetic. They were so much fun to work with and they collaborated very well with our photographers in finding the best shot to capture. They truly made us feel very comfortable with their friendly engagements and clear directions, it seriously felt like we were friends, which made the whole experience so much fun. While we had to wait about 6 months for our video, it was well worth it in the end and the quality compared to their competitors are second to none. I definitely have tremendous appreciation for all the hard work that went into the videos, especially since I took some filmmaking classes in college, so I can empathize. Not only was it a long day of filming for the Collideskope crew, but it truly takes a lot of work, time and creativity to compose a cinematography video with the 12 hour raw footage illustrating our love story, and Collideskope nailed it, plus more! What I appreciated the most from this team, coming from a background where exceptional service is paramount, was that Timothy would not release their work unless we were 100% satisfied. He was willing to make any adjustments we asked him to and he resolved it with creativity and patience. LOVED working with Collideskope on our wedding video! My wedding photographer (shout out to Kat Ma!) recommended Collideskope when husband and I were researching wedding videography. I think it's really important to have a solid team to document your big day, especially since so much time and money goes towards planning it. From my first contact with them, the Collideskope team was great. Their responses to my emails were always professional, prompt, and thorough. Not to mention that they were always personable and friendly. It made coordinating logistics extremely easy, which was really important since our wedding was a destination wedding in Kauai, Hawaii. When the big day arrived, we were really impressed with Tim and John. They were both prompt, professional, and had a lot of great ideas of what to record. They knew exactly what to do at all times, and was always attentive and ready to capture meaningful moments throughout the day. It was so comforting to sit back and relax the day of our wedding because we knew that these guys had everything taken care of. They also were nice enough to put together a preview of our wedding day less than a week after our wedding, which was such a wonderful surprise!! Where do I begin? The level of professionalism and creativity blew me away! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my SDE (same day edit) and it was a HUGE hit. My family and friends thought it was the best thing ever to see the progression of the day during dinner. It was nice for the people who couldn't make it to the ceremony! I was honestly amazed that the video came out before dessert time and it was such high quality! You'd think that a SDE would be just OK since it's made so quickly, but Tim and his team put together the most tear inducing video ever. My husband and I (along with many of our guests) were crying tears of joy as we were watching our video. We chose the "Serendipity" package with the same day edit, and it was worth every single penny. Tim and his 3 teammates made everyone feel at ease throughout the whole day. They took my vision and went above and beyond with it. They were funny, charming, and they thought of the most amazing shots and worked with the environment and people. They got along with EVERY SINGLE vendor of ours and even made sure they connected with our photographers from out of state prior to our wedding day to ensure they were on the same page! Their attention to detail is seriously impeccable. I cannot rave enough about this team! I HIGHLY recommend them. Save your time researching other cinematographers and just book them. We all know that every single minute of wedding planning time is precious! I promise you won't be disappointed. Bottom line: Our videos make me laugh and tear up whenever I watch them. That was definitely Collideskope's goal and they totally achieved it. I was referred to Collideskope by our photographer, who worked with them on past weddings. Based on their portfolio, they matched the style we were looking for and their pricing was extremely competitive. When we first reached out to Timothy, he insisted on a video call to make the process more personal. I really appreciated that and how he was able to work with us on the exact package we wanted (edited ceremony film, edited speeches film, and 3-5 minute highlight), instead of being limited to their pre-set packages. On the day of the wedding, the guys were great. They were so fun to work with and really made us comfortable in front of all the cameras throughout the day. They even brought out a drone to capture some awesome shots of the city. We asked for our raw videos back about a month later and they were able to mail us a hard drive full of it. We got the rest of our videos back about six months after the wedding day. While I'm absolutely in love with the videos that we received, my husband and I would've appreciated more transparent communication. We initially weren't given set timelines on when to expect the edited videos so we messaged them three months after the wedding in December. They said it would be ready in mid - late January because of the holidays. I checked in on the beginning of February when we still didn't receive any emails or videos, and they said it would take 2-3 more weeks. By the beginning of March, we still hadn't heard anything so we emailed again. They finally gave us a definite date of when it would be ready by and delivered it a week ahead of that date. I understand it's not an overnight process but I think transparency and communication go a long way for clients who pay thousands of dollars on a company. I'm a big fan of their work and I do recommend them to friends and family. I just wish they communicated better with us. read more

We got our video and LOVE IT!! We opted for the feature film (our 10-min film was the perfect length - long enough to get a feel for the day without getting bored), ceremony, speeches, and the father-daughter/mother-son dances. Collideskope will exceed your every expectation and deliver a wedding video that makes your special day seem like something from out of a fairy tale. When I began planning my wedding, I knew I wanted a cinematographer who could capture all of the moments that I want to remember, incorporate the beauty of St. Maarten - where the wedding took place - and create something that looks like the trailer for a $20 million movie. I watched over a hundred different sample videos from hundreds of different cinematographers, but none of them had what I was looking for. At one point, I was ready to give up and settle - NEVER settle on your wedding video! If I had, I wouldn't have found Collideskope. And, I wouldn't have gotten the wedding video of my dreams! Of course I wanted everything they had to offer (drone, highlight video, social media teaser, speeches & documentary features) they worked with me and created a custom package for what I wanted and my budget! The contract was thorough and they answered all my questions without hesitation. I communicated mostly with Tim N. throughout the whole process (Video & audio calls, emails & text messaging). He is prompt, professional and was always cost conscious, not many people out there are and I really appreciated this- He even chose a longer layover to save me money! In addition to being talented, the Collideskope team is professional and a pleasure to work with. The gentlemen of Collideskope are the BEST of the BEST and were hands down one of our best vendors (so much so that I've recommended them to every single one of my engaged girlfriends!). What I was looking for in a videographer was a team that made me feel super comfortable, understood and cared about my vision (and song choices!), and created videos that touched my heart. Safe to say they NAILED IT! They are extremely professional, super responsive, accommodating, and talented, and their end product exceeded all of our expectations. We had many specific cultural aspects to our Persian wedding and they were up to the task and captured it all! Where do I start? Well first-I saw these guys at a schmancy wedding fair at a Luxe Bridal show in SF so I knew they were high quality already. I stopped by there both because I was super impressed with their highlight video where they used a drone which I totally loved! At the time of the bridal show, I had zero clue where I would have my wedding but contacted them not too long after the Luxe show to get a quote. Fast forward months later, I decided on having a mini-destination wedding in Santa Barbara and so luckily they were able to travel at a fee + hotel stay covered but of course but were able to honor the quote they had provided me when we first met so that worked out nicely. Now onto business...a few months prior to the wedding we had a few calls to go over details, price and final arrangements. I did all of the planning myself so I was learning how and when to contact vendors so below are highlights, lowlights/feedback. I worked with Toby and Tim most of the time through email and phone communication. However, on the day of the wedding-two of their employees came to do the filming. These younger gentleman were so courteous, timely and extremely professional. Not to mention that without their help, our photographers may have gone over time. They did a phenomenal job working with both myself and my husband to make us feel comfortable about the time they had to film and really took to detail because it shows in our highlight video. They captured the funny moments /best man/maid of honor speeches that definitely tell the personality in both my husband and I. Last but not least I still haven't received the full video-so I will update this review once I receive that! Highlights: -Clear Price breakdown -Great video highlight examples to see so you can get an idea of how you want your video to look and feel -Beautiful & Professional video delivery -Drone technology available and worth having this for your wedding! -Professional, super timely and friendly staff Lowlights/Feedback/Tips I would make it for an extra extra plus: -During the in between months of our planning, it was a bit challenging for a phone call-we had a few instance of phone tag that made it feel a little worrisome but once we communicated that, they stayed on top of communication with email. -Our highlight video was a little less than 4 minutes which they did say it would be between 3-5 minutes but of course you always want the 5 minutes right? -We were surveyed for a variety of music that reflected us but we felt like it didn't reflect our personality though we kind of figured it has to do with copyright issues-However, I think it would help couples save time to have to do this task of selecting music that won't be used. read more
