I was actually pretty impressed by the beer selection in the fridge, as they had some pretty random stuff. One annoying thing was that many of the beers didn't have a price tag, so I had no idea how much my beer was going to cost. I also found it a little confusing to purchase my can of beer at the bar since I assumed there may be a separate register for people just shopping versus drinking in the establishment. The staff were all nice, but the beer was a little more expensive than I expected. Nothing crazy, but I was a bit surprised. Overall, there are some definite positives to Open Bottle, but I'll most likely head elsewhere next time.

Party Beverage Company has potential, but doesn't quite get to the must-see level for some reason…read more The place looks big, but once inside, there's a lot of empty and wasted space that kept me thinking, "where's the rest of it?" There's a decent selection of domestic and imported beers, both in the cooler and on the shelves, and the prices are consistent with other places. The selection of keg beers is extensive, again with both domestic and foreign, so PBC is probably a good spot for anyone, mostly likely college students, to get the home party started. Maybe that's the secret. During my short visit, several people stopped in to grab a beer or a six-pack. All of the chosen beverages were packed in the ever-so-discreet brown paper sack so this is not a place that chooses to spend money having a logo or store name imprinted on a bag. It's a very low-key store. Because it's in a residential area, PBC seems to get a lot of foot traffic. In fact, I could see this place as being a go-to place for the local college students looking to stock beer or tap a keg, and maybe this place still does a lot of that, but it's not a place I'd stop if I were looking to stock a serious party serving liquor other than beer. Most of the inventory, besides beer, was wine. There was a smattering of hard liquor, and even smaller selection of mixers. Still, for a basic no-frills kind of place, PBC will get the job done.

They just do home brewing supplies, equipment, ingredients for beer. Brewing books for beer, wine, and cider. Home brew kits for the beginner, and different ingredients for all types of beers that you might want to brew. If they do not have a specific hop or other ingredient, they can suggest an alternative to that ingredient that will be comparable, or order the one that you need/want. I found that their service and knowledge was exceptional, and that this comes from hands on experience in all types of brewing. If you are more advanced, they have kegging supplies so you can scale up if needed. I bought one of their Pale Ale pre-packaged kits for a 5 gallon home brew, and a specialty IPA that I will try after my initial journey in the beer brewing world. The kits can range from mid 30's to upper 40's, depending on the number of hops and other ingredients in them, so not a bad value for 5 gallons of beer. Their will be an initial investment that is not too bad with the brewing and bottling equipment that you need to start and finish your product, but the ROI would be captured after a few good successful beer brews. Expect a 2 week turnaround for each batch, and you are good. Also, have a list of friends that like fresh beer, because at 48-50 beers every couple weeks or so, you might need bigger pants, lol.
