DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM THIS MAN! HE IS DISHONEST AND DOES NOT LIVE UP TO HIS WORD! My family…read morewent to Monroy's for over 15 years and had no problems with their service until he sold us a car. He said that he had a 2009 Subaru Outback that was not working but he was going to get a brand new engine for it and would fix it all up, make it right, and sell us a great car for $7000.00. This thing was never working from the day I got it from him. It kept on breaking down in the middle of the road in the mountains after only a few days of using the vehicle. I say only a few days because I barely had the car in my possession a few days since it was always back at his shop being fixed for serious issues. I took it up to work and it over heated and would not start. I had to wait a few hours before I could drive it again and slowly got it home and then to his repair shop. He said that he fixed it, (It was never actually fixed) but that he would not work on it again without me paying for the bill. I told him he sold us a hooptie and would never go back to his shop again. We only had it for 4 month! Most of that time it was in the shop for weeks at a time. We only have driven the car for 2000 miles over the span of a year because of all the smog it spews out and fear that it will not start again. Well, today the car did the same thing to my wife as she was driving down to Ontario Mills where it stalled in the middle of the road. She was terrified. I had to drive down to give her my car and try to take the car back to my house not knowing what was going on with it. I couldn't make it back to my house without it oveheating and stalling out on the side of the road. This car was the most costly mistake of my life. We have put over $1000 trying to fix the car. It would not even pass the smog test a year after we bought it. Now it does not even work and is currently sitting on the side of the road with steam spewing from the engine bay. Very disapointed and very dissatisfied. Please don't buy a used car from this dishonest and unscrupulous auto mechanic.

My review and experience is definitely vastly and drastically different from my first. Now after…read morehaving a completely ridiculous experience I now feel that this shop was just trying to scam me and run away with a quick and easy buck. I took my Nissan Titan in as it had intermittent issues with the transmission disengaging starting out from a complete stop, A/T check light blinks on and off, goes off, then the check engine light comes on and stays on. I pull over, put it in park, turn the engine off, start it back up, and drive off like nothing happened. The transmission shifts and operates normally. I drive it easy for a month or two, check engine light goes off and its fine until the next time it happens. I took it to useless excuse for a shop. They worked on it all day. They called me up and told me I need a whole new transmission and a remanufactured transmission would cost $7500 and a used would be $3500. I asked how much to repair it, and was told also about $3500. I immediately started looking around online, and found used transmissions for under $800 with free shipping and remanufactured engines are typically about $2800 for 1st generation Titan 2WD. The code that was showing from the check engine light was a solenoid error - P1767 which is part of the valve body. To replace the valve body, its just under the transmission pan and valued at about 1-2 hours labor. A remanufactured valve body is about $250. A new one is about $1800-$2300. None of the actual numbers I found remotely matched up to what I was told... who ended up being the manager of the transmission part of the shop. I then took it to another shop who looked up the code, and told me that its most likely an electrical issue due to the nature of the problem. They also pretty much confirmed all the prices that I looked up and found. Bottom line is, DONT EVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP - THEY ARE CRIMINALS! P.S. The check engine light went off today and stayed off...
