I got the order and had vinaigrette dressing (no Caesar dressing) for my Caesar salad. The salad itself was pretty good. There was a 5.95 up charge to add not even a hand full of chicken to the already $11 salad. Looking back over the menu a grilled chicken salad is $16. Today I tried Colemans Lunchbox. I expected the bulk of the lunch rush to have subsided by my arrival at 1:30p, but the dining area was packed and it took another 20 minutes in line to work my way to the counter. This spot is small but brightly colored and well organized. I was pleasantly greeted by the owner (Rhonda) and warned that there would be a "little bit of a wait" for food. And what a wait. It took 55 minutes for my order number to be called. Everything looked good, but I was now 30 minutes late returning from lunch and didn't have an opportunity to eat. I will admit to being totally sucked to trying this place after watching the viral video. It looked sooo delicious. It also helps that this is a local family owned business which I always love to support. After watching the videos, we decided to pop by and get a dish to try. I had to pick up DD from work at three. We put our order in at 2:45 (this is important later). My grandson asked for a burger and a sweet tea and I ordered the "Chef's Pasta". It's a simple place with maybe half a dozen tables so you can eat in but the majority of their business seems to be take out. The lady who took our order was very nice. Now comes the reason I mentioned the time. This is not a fast food place and that's good so don't expect your food to be ready right away. Our order was ready at 3:23. It was well worth the wait! OMG, our order looked just as good as the food in the video and the taste was top tier. Grandson's hamburger was thick and cooked perfectly. Make sure you get your condiments since it only had onion, tomato and lettuce. It was served with seasoned fries. The burger was thick and juicy. The fries were good with lots of seasoning. He had it finished in six blocks. My pasta was amazing and enough to feed two (or more). Loaded with shrimp, chicken and sausage in a creamy sauce that was perfectly seasoned. From what I have read this place has been slammed since the video and given the quality of the food I doubt that's going to change. Was I late picking up my DD? Yes. Don't use the restroom. Despite having a massive sign over the restrooms saying "restrooms" in multiple colors and all caps, the very plain tiny sign on the front door which is mixed with similar looking information panels says "no public restrooms" and if you use them, they will deny you service and do it quite rudely. Knew I was in the right place when I read their health rating of 100%. I'm one of those people who actually check. Ordered a Philly cheesesteak on a hoagie roll and a side salad. Good choice on my part. It took a few minutes to get our order because it's freshly made and the sandwich was ample and delicious. The salad was fresh and contained a boiled egg, nice surprise. I'be been searching for a delicious Cajun pasta since coming back from New Orleans and this hit the spot! All of the protein options for the pasta were seasoned perfectly. However, the dark-dark complexion man taking the orders will ruin the business with his rude demeanor. He has poor customer service skills and an overall unwillingness to attend to the customers. He acts as if he hates his job and does not want to work there. He needs to be retained. For some reason I didn't realize the burger actually had honey buns, but they did and it was fantastic. For the wings, I'm not much of a wing guy, but these changed my mind. Very very good home cooked soul food. My wife and I came in for lunch with our toddler, we got the Chicken Philly lunch combo, and 10 hot honey mustard wings, plus a side of Okra. Man it was delicious! My wife said it was the best chicken Philly she has ever had and we from up north Love supporting local small black owned businesses!!
