There isn't any indoor seating, so this is more of a grab-your-ice-cream-and-go kind of place. After being out in the Arizona heat all day, we didn't mind one bit! My friend got a scoop of peanut butter pecan in a pretzel cone, which I thought was such a unique combination. She said it was really tasty, and I have to admit the pretzel cone definitely caught my attention. My daughter went with peanut butter ice cream in a waffle cone. The waffle cones are made homemade right there, and they also make their cookies in-house, which made everything feel extra special. I ordered a salted caramel sundae with butter pecan ice cream, and let me tell you--it was amazing! It was the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and creamy. My sundae also came with a cookie, so of course I had to try it, and it was so good. You could definitely tell it was freshly made. After spending the day exploring Arizona in the heat, ice cream was exactly what we needed. Churn was the perfect way to cool down and end our day on a sweet note!

What a great custom menu with lots of creative choices for ice-cream, ice-cream sandwiches, shake and floats, coffee and coffee desserts. Custom rotating flavors that we tried and sampled as we decided. Love how there's a secret back entrance to the ice cream parlor from Windsor Cocktail Bar next door. This is part of a cluster of good restaurants of different types along Central Avenue in Uptown. Parking available right in front of the entrance as well as around back in a private parking lot. I was so tempted by several items on the menu, but since I had just had a large lunch, I chose to try a single scoop of the Vietnamese coffee ice cream. So delicious and I loved the tiny specks of coffee. Hubs got a double scoop of strawberry ice cream, and my son got a strawberry shake. We all really enjoyed the interior and decor of the ice cream shop and the high-quality and good flavors of the ice cream. Service is really great here. The ladies were really working hard and going as fast as they could, and it didn't look easy scooping the large scoops of frozen hard ice cream. There was a line out the door on the Saturday afternoon that we showed up that moved quickly.

I was looking to visit an icecream shop. I wanted to take my son and he mentioned "La Michoacána" I…read morecan be pretty basic when it comes to the flavors I prefer but I decided (Hey, why not venture out)...WOW! SO FRESH & SO CLEAN-CLEAN: Upon walking up, this location was in the Fry's Food parking lot on the east side of the entire plaza. I didn't expect much from the outside although to my surprise when we walked in I noticed two primary things: How pink and inviting it looked and how Impeccably CLEAN it was. I visited a similar spot about a month ago somewhere in Phoenix but I distinctly remember how dirty that place was inside so I was highly skeptical of this place...Lol!! Not Here! On this visit, I could have literally eaten off the counter and I'm a huge sanitation buff. I can still remember the shiny chrome in the ice-cream freezer section as well as how there were zero fingerprints on the glass, no garbage on the floor and even the his/her bathroom located in the rear of this store (available for paying customers) was clean. Customer service was spot on with a quick greeting as well as a willingness to help...WOW!! So now that my initial thoughts are expressed: Here's the Scoop: ICECREAM & FLAVORS: Inside are a variety of items to choose from such as: A multitude of delicious ice-cream flavors that include: Pistachio, Mango, Strawberry, Caramel, Cookie Monster, Oreo, Bubble-Gum, Cotton Candy, Guava, Chocolate Chip, Coconut, Rocky Road, Cheesecake, P.Butter, Mamey, Strawberries n' Cream, Vanilla, Chocolate, Lime. These can be served in a cup, sugar cone or various waffle cone/bowl options. Ice-cream Snicker bars are also sold here as well as Hand dipped Icecream bars topped with peanuts or coconut. You can also purchase ice-cream to go in 1-liter containers. Also included inside this location is a large variety of handmade popsicles made with real fruit such as my favorite: Watermelon. There is also Mango, Unicorn, Jamaica, Pistachio, Sour Sop, Kiwi, Yogurt n Fruit plus MANY, MANY MORE! (See my photos) DRINKS: Fresh Flavored Water aka Aqua Frescas are made daily and are available in two sizes (small & large) Also for purchase is Mexican Cola, Fanta & Bottled water. ADDITIONAL GOODIES: Cheese topped Nachos, Fried Duritos, Cups of Corn with all the fixings (cream, mayo, cheese & salsa) are made on request. Mexican candies are sold and near the register. Mangonada (Mango topped with Chile) are available in sizes S-M-L and are super fresh & delicious! ((See my photos for even more details & pricing)) HOURS: This location is open from 11am - 9pm every day. Kids are always welcome & service pets will never be turned away. PAYMENT ACCEPTED: Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Ali-Pay, PayPal, all CC & of course Cash. OVERALL.. VISIT THIS LOCATION. THEN SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE. I WANT TO SEE HOW MANY OTHERS FEEL THE SAME. (Visited on March 29, 2023). Plus: Door Dash ready. Order today!

Novel has a great roster of rotating flavors to sample if you have a hard time making up your mind. For my visit, I tried out a limited-time scoop called "Hangry Honey Bee" inside of a donut. Absolute bliss is all I can say about it. Doesn't break the bank, but definitely breaks my standards of dessert places on Phoenix now because of how great Novel is. On-top of the unique flavors that are changing alongside the many ways of customizing your scoop, the staff were very friendly from start to finish. Will absolutely visit Novel again for another delectable treat.

Novel is located in a cute little courtyard with some other businesses. The ordering is done at a little window. The people working there seemed like they didn't care -- but they were kids working at a job where the ice cream probably dyes your hands blue and the donut smell probably makes you gag after a while -- so I get it! It is a fun concept and I love this cute little area of downtown PHX. I would come back and try a different combo -- but only when I am so hungry (not after dinner, LOL)

We were visiting Phoenix for the first time and a local friend recommended checking this ice cream…read moreshop. I didn't have high expectations since how great could ice cream really be? And boy, was I wrong when I got a sample of the mango sticky rice. It felt sinful and an ice cream experience like no other. The prickly pear sorbet was also unique and refreshing. I'll definitely stop here whenever we return to the area!

We went to Sweet Republic after dinner for a pallet cleanser and saw the reviews and stars and was excited to drop by. The store itself was simple and had the feel of a regular ice cream parlor with bright colors and board full of possibilities. It seems that the selection is pretty diverse offering a nice selection of flavors that are "off the beaten path" such as crème brûlée, brown butter pecan, and salted caramel, along with normal ice cream staples. These were "fine" but not earth shattering. When we walked in there were three teens behind the counter and no welcome or really even acknowledgment of our existence other than we were in line. Despite the collection of flavors we seemed to annoy them and "put them out" asking to try some of the flavors. The truly disappointing part was the lack of generosity of the scoops. It is $4.50 for a single scoop and it is just that a scoop. One slide of the spoon and what ever fills the bowl of the spoon is what you get. So each scoop was a touch bigger than a golf ball. At the End of the Day, I don't like comparing but I'm used to the Valleys selection of Handels franchises where they are generous with their scoops (they brag about it) and generous with their customer service and friendliness. No need to come back with better offerings near by!
