I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received at the Cold Stone Creamery located at Universal City Walk on a recent visit. What was supposed to be a simple and enjoyable family treat turned into an experience I am not likely to forget -- and not for the right reasons. I ordered three cups of ice cream: two Strawberry Blondes and one Oreo Explosion. Unfortunately, the very first cup was made incorrectly, missing the graham cracker topping. When I pointed this out, the employee acknowledged the mistake and offered to sprinkle the graham crackers on top rather than remake the order. I agreed, simply to avoid creating more work, but this already set the tone for what became an increasingly disappointing visit. While the second employee was preparing the rest of our order, my 4-year-old son -- whom I am currently teaching the importance of kindness and good manners -- politely asked for a peanut butter cup. He was excited and respectful, and I lifted him up so he could make the request himself. Instead of being met with warmth or even a neutral response, the employee (Nessa) quickly informed both him and me that she would have to charge us for the peanut butter cup. Now, I fully understand the principles of business and that items have a cost, and I ultimately paid the $1.38. But the manner in which this was handled -- with no courtesy, no warmth, and no understanding of the situation -- was truly upsetting. Watching my son's face fall after being spoken to in such a cold, dismissive way was heartbreaking. And to be clear, this wasn't just about a peanut butter cup. It was about the complete lack of compassion and customer care shown by both Nessa and the store manager, Myrzabel, who simply reiterated "that's store policy" with no effort to resolve the situation with grace or empathy. A three-cent piece of candy was denied to a polite four-year-old child after the store had already made a mistake on our order -- and no effort was made to make it right. That is not just bad service; it is tone-deaf and frankly unacceptable for a brand of this stature. Because of this experience, I have no desire to return to that location -- or any Cold Stone Creamery -- in the future. I will also be sharing this experience with friends and family and the world so they are aware of how poorly a simple, reasonable customer interaction was handled. If this is truly how this company wishes to be represented, then I'm afraid they are sending the wrong message especially with these two employees. read more

This place is very nice. In universal city walk, I think there's no other place with good ice cream like here. And the best is it's fully customizable. You start by selecting the size. There is many there's even 2 bring it home container which is very nice. Once the size is selected, you choose which flavor of icecream you want. There's a lot of choice. Then, you add the toppings you want mixed in it. In short, think like if you were at the store buying ice cream. There's vanilla and chocolate, but also vanilla with m&m, chocolate with brownies. Well here, you create those mixes. The basic one come with 1 include topping. You pay about $1 for each topping. read more

A classic outpost of the ice cream shop tucked into the Universal City Walk -- the line here moves pretty quickly, especially on the way out of the park. My big qualm is that there is a lot of cross-contamination. They usually clean off the surface and scrape it down, but the ice cream clearly picked up traces of nuts that we couldn't have. read more

As of November 2020, they don't have the "like it" cup BUT they have to-go "mine" and "ours" containers (not sure if this is a pre-covid thing but I was pretty surprised)!!! It was a pretty easy process to get our deliciousness and it was nice that they had 6ft distancing markers on the floor. Can't go wrong with your choice-- they're always delicious. I always prefer the signature creations that have cake batter or cookie dough in them. And I always think that I want a "gotta have it" but end up getting the "love it" with NO REGRETS. About a week before coming to Orlando I found out Coldstone Creamery was coming out with Nintendo inspired ice cream concoctions. My best friend and I committed to sharing the Animal Crossing ice cream when we got to Universal Studios. I had been waiting 7+ days to try this and I'm definitely glad we stopped in because it is glorious. The other 2 Nintendo inspired options also looked delicious, as well as their everyday options, however Animal Crossing New Horizons was the only game of the 3 I actually play so it was an obvious choice. I was surprised the fruit flavors they chose were strawberry and banana considering neither are in the New Horizons game as well as the fact there is no chocolate in game either. You could have done cherry, orange, coconut, apple, peach or even pear. I suppose banana is half ok because there were bananas in old games but that's it. The actual ice cream was really fantastic even if I feel it doesn't fit the theme correctly. We love visiting Cold Stone for a creamy treat and for the last 2 years have purchased a birthday cake for our daughter's birthday. Last year it was a Barbie cake and it was phenomenal. When this birthday came, without hesitation I ordered a cheesecake named desire for our daughter's birthday celebration. I went on line and placed the order with a good experience but the cake we got was not the one we ordered and not at all worth the $40 we spent. The other disappointment was the disregard for what we asked to have written on the cake. I asked for the cake to say "Happy 20th Anna" . The cake was asymmetrical it looked like it had fallen. The cake did not look like the image online. I plan to post this on line as a caution to other consumers, inconsistent quality and poor customer service. Staff didn't greet us and we couldn't tell where to order so that took a bit to decipher but after that we were granted a few samples to find our flavor choices. It was my first time visiting Stone Cold Creamery and was impressed as soon as I stepped in the door. I was instantly mesmerized watching staff whip, beat, and smash ingredients with any preferred ice cream. It was hard to decide what to order since there were so many delicious flavors and create your own options. I ordered a Gotta Have It/Large Mint Mint Chocolate Chocolate Chip. It was too much for me to indulge on my own and had to share but honestly it was enough for four people. We enjoyed it so much that we didn't mind that dreadful hike to the parking garage. It cured my sweet tooth for at least one week, seriously. ;-) Inquire within about any special dietary needs such as; gluten-free, vegan, and sugar free options. She didn't even try to help, when I finally decided for the cone, she said that they didn't have it. so I changed my choice and she did as she as doing me a favor. So my girlfriend and I came out of a movie around 12:30PM, we pass by the Cold Stone, and our path in life became obvious. We come inside and it's empty, so we skip right up to the counter and start to ponder. There are a bunch of pre-made options, but there are way more flavors. With the advise of the employee, and with a sample of the new truffle fudge, we settle on a peanut butter cup combination with the truffle fudge replacing the standard chocolate. The man behind the counter handles those little ice cream handles so deftly; you could tell he has had a ton of experience. He mixed everything all up and I took a gratuitous Snapchat video of it. Girls wanted ice cream on our way out of Universal Studios. They were not offering samples because of Covid measures. The granddaughters ordered cookies and cream and cotton candy. However the ice cream was a bit melty already since the beginning when it was all chopped up mashed up then put onto the waffle bowl. Would I recommend? So we got it and left and then walking into universal we noticed a hair tangled into the ice cream i put a picture of it, We went back and kevin haloed is out and then the girl started to say things to us and it was rude and unprofessional and disgusting. We waited in line for 15/20 minutes to be ignored by half the employees and then told that "we were welcome to go home" because they were about to close. There were 6 employees working, one of which was a manager. Of those 6, 2 were working. Derrick was the extremely rude employee. He and his friend were making jokes the entire time and they both made fun of the way my girlfriend pronounced the ice cream creation we got. He then told his friend to stop scooping our ice cream because we were sharing. He barely mixed the ingredients. I'll be surprised if j ever go back to this particular store. Terrible customer service. And to top it off, I've contacted cold stone and no one has touched base with me yet. Really dissatisfied with the entire situation. read more
