Located right outside the Alderwood mall. This place is always busy - doesn't matter which part of the year you are visiting. Standard Cold Stone offerings. Staffs are friendly. They do their best to serve everyone quickly as possible. I have picked up ice creams from here a few times. Waited for more than 10 mins every time! That's kind of a standard waiting time here. They don't mess up your orders; that's the best part! Good experience so far! read more

Horrible experience at this location last summer. My child always gets the same topping, this location told me that they couldn't mix the gummy bear toppings in the ice cream and we could only have them on top, because they were too heavy. Um no, other locations don't have an issue doing that, but this one told us this, and was charging regular price. I mean, isn't that part of the experience? By the time we got to my car, the ice cream turned to liquid, huge mess. This was about 15 min after they opened! We'll bring our business to the other locations instead. "Cold stone"? More like warm stone. Came in and got a "like it" size and was handed an ugly cup of melted ice cream mess. The gal I was with ordered something different and also received a cup of ugly melt. Mind you, these were a total of about $15 (!!). We both quickly drove home to stick the ice cream soup in the freezer to eat tomorrow. We were very disappointed. Soft serve is substantially more frozen than this glob was. Not to mention this location is absolutely filthy dirty and the lighting is dark and dingy. Very unappealing on all fronts. I'm an ice cream fanatic and haven't been here in a while. Decided to stop by recently and saw they had a cookie dough menu - like over six different flavors focused on cookie dough. Well, that drew me in and I opted for the One Smart Brookie. Brownies and cookie dough? Beautiful combination. Anyways, as I was saying - ice cream fanatic, no ice cream can really be "bad." Salt & Straw, Molly Moons, Coldstone, these all share the common denominator that they can have unique flavors. I mean most ice cream parlors do this these days, but my point is they're all good with different offerings. These cookie dough options are thick and they help "liquify" it a bit by beating the ice cream before placing into your preferred container, a cup or cone. Cookie dough is heavy and filling! Not what I expected, I would've opted for a smaller size had I known. I suppose it's good to know now though, in case I come back and crave some cookie dough. Every mouthful of ice cream will have at least one large cookie dough chunk. Yelp has a 10% discount offered when you check in. I was able to use it here, but it took a few minutes as they weren't sure what it was and had to double check the location. They didn't refuse and worked with me to honor it, so props to the service here. Ends up eliminating tax from the already expensive price. Price can be a big factor when deciding what you want so any small discount feels significant. I mean at a large scoop with a cone, this discount helps make the cone almost free. Now I'm leaning towards a 3.5ish for value and price but was very happy with the service and patience here. It's not like I interacted with the staff much nor did they go particularly above and beyond, but they were very patient and took time to work with me for the Yelp discount which says a lot honestly. I haven't historically been a fan of Cold Stone, and it's been over 5 years since I went to one. But I was pleasantly surprised with the birthday cake remix. The cake batter ice cream was super rich. It almost tasted like frosting. The brownie was spread out throughout the ice cream instead of just being in chunks, which I really enjoyed. The sprinkles were fun. There wasn't much fudge, but there was enough chocolate from the brownie. Maybe next time I'll get it with caramel instead. At first I was disappointed with the waffle cone. It was thin and crispy without much flavor, a lot like a sugar cone. But it turned out to be an outstanding addition once I dipped it in the ice cream. I got the smallest size, and it still cost $8. I don't like a ton of ice cream, so I do wish they could sell half sizes or something. read more

Ice cream flavor, toppings, and serving size is typical of any Cold Stone, so my rating is mostly due to service. Came here on a hot day (gasp, hot day in Washington?!) and stopped by with my family for ice cream. This was my first time at this location, so I'm not sure if the AC was broken, or if it's typical for the store to have no air flow, but it was very warm inside to the store, to a point where I'm surprised the ice cream wasn't all melted. Usually there would be some sort of greeting of acknowledgement when you enter any store, but the two workers (possibly mom and daughter), looked over and said nothing. 'Mom' was at the cash register with another customer, 'daughter' saw us, adverted her gaze, and started moving containers around from front to back of the store. My first thought was that maybe she doesn't work the front--but she wore the same uniform..and we later saw her helping someone AFTER we had ordered. Mom was able to help us when she finished w/ her customer, but was very quiet, asking only "What do you want? Toppings?..Anything else?" I wouldn't say she was rude, but definitely not friendly, which is what you'd expect at an ice cream shop. Would I come here again? Only if my heart truly desired the ice cream and I had absolutely no other options. But I would not recommend going out of your way at all. read more

OMG, rich buttery goodness, all packed with a song, for a tip, and a smile. For a chain this stuff is pretty good, rich a bit too fatty cream-wise, but heck for what you pay for the stuff it better leave something around the middle! I can be a purest at times, so I've stuck to trying the plain ice cream, something like 15 different "base" flavors, with nothing mixed in, my kids think I'm nuts. Anyway, the base ice cream is totally sinful, rich texture that kinda leaves a heavy feeling on the tongue. I think that's from the milk fat, it good but something to keep in mind. They are starting to offer "healthy" selections but we haven't gotten around to trying them yet. The amount of selection of "mix ins" is ridiculous! But enjoyable.... Sit back and enjoy, of course afterward you need to jog a few miles to work it off.... read more

I have been coming to this Cold Stone location for years. Probably 10+ years (whenever it opened). I love Cold Stone ice cream. It has never let me down. I love Birthday Cake Remix, Founder's Favorite and Banana Caramel Crunch. I usually cycle through these three. I often request that my husband get me a birthday cake from here every year. The owner lady is SO nice, she always remembers us (maybe that's a sign we come a little too much, haha!). You really can't go wrong. This is one of the only Cold Stone Creameries within a 20 mile radius of where I live, so when I have a craving I have quite a drive to get here. Fortunately it is worthwhile. There are always a lot of kids getting ice cream here, which can be a challenge to maneuver around (don't spill your ice cream on me!) but the service is great and they don't ever run out of my favorite flavors. Even though the novelty has worn off, I still like my ice cream softened a bit that way. For me, the ice cream is okay but the toppings are what I look for. Caramel, Oreo cookies, Heath bars - yum, yum, and yum! The flavors are so rich that I only get a "like it" size and I have trouble finishing that. My favorite waffle cone is the one dipped in chocolate. Fill that with the Coffee Lover's mix and I'm good. I'm not one for blended drinks there - more of a glass of water type of gal to wash down that ice cream. I've bought cakes and pints to take home before and have been pleased with the quality. On this evening, there were five employees working, plus one blonde in a red tank, shorts and tan sweater in back. When a group of five of us walked in, all of these employees were in the back room, half were slipping and sliding around like it was a game while one was "mopping" the floor. One teen complained about bosses, Jen and Lou, not letting them listen to "other music." "Kimbo" had an attitude, and was reluctant to help us, while a young caucasian guy complained about Kimbo's sass. Kim didn't even let one of the customer in my party complete her order and handed her, her ice cream cup with the spoon - not handling it, pushing it across the counter with the spoon. A young man counted money on the back counter, out in the open and said "$1700, whoo hoo." Before we left another girl, not in uniform, let herself in the back room. This is the second time, my boyfriend and I have come in on a weekend and had similar experiences. Where are all the grown ups, errr... managers?
