Unfortunately we didn't check the reviews before we came. We have a great cold stone by our house and assumed we'd be in for the same experience here. Wrong. We had 7 ice creams to order. We were the only ones in the store with 3 people working. 2 started helping us but then one left. It took about 20 mins to get everything. They didn't hand us our ice creams as they made them so by the time my husband got his, it was half melted. They barely filled the cups, my daughter got about 3 pieces of cookie dough in her like it size. Too bad. Skip next time. read more

Went to coldstone for my sister's birthday. We have been to multiple cold stone location, and have been pleased with the service everytime. As usual we ordered kid scoops, but were genuinely appalled by the (less than) spoonfull of ice cream given. I have never had a kids scoop where I can still see the bottom of the cup. The worker named nina refused to mix in any ingredients for my sister, and had a very condescending tone throughout our experience. She justified our 6 dollar spoonfuls saying they were the "cheapest thing on our menu". If you go, don't get a kids scoop. read more

Cold Stone Creamery - Kids scoop of strawberry and coffee ice cream. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Holmdel, New Jersey

Cold stones ambiance feels cluttered with chairs twisted around and random decor places. When I walk in it can feel overwhelming because of the lack of space which isn't something the business can do about. But with more tables and chairs it's even worse. The food is good, being fresh and served well. The service here is well with few employees but greeting customers as they work. read more

Paid $100 for a cake that looked like it was decorated by a toddler. Been getting cakes there for ages and they changed ownership and the cake decorator that was there previously left. Horrible experience. Note the differences in the cakes, especially the writing. read more

This place went completely downhill. They accept orders for items they don't have. They refuse to substitute. They don't speak English making it impossible to communicate. They don't use gloves when scooping ice cream, super unsanitary and gross. Please close this location down. read more

It's 6:30pm on a Thursday's and I decided to go to Cold Stone. When I got there it was 6:40pm he said (since there was only one person there working) said that the store was closed when it was 6:40pm and I went to check the store hours and it said it closed at 10:30pm. Looks like the guy wanted to leave early. Such BS it's also 90 degrees out in the summer read more

Very good service I enjoyed my cookie minister and I found the atmosphere to be comforting and welcoming

Absolutely disappointed--two years in a row I went to this Cold Stone location on August 3rd to pick up a birthday cake for my husband. Both times, I arrived right at their posted opening time of 12pm, and the doors were locked. I waited 10 minutes and no one showed up or opened the store. This is unacceptable, i won't be going back to this location again. read more

Slow service, place is dirty, ice cream was melted before we even paid. There are a lot of better ice cream places in the area.

$28 for 3 half filled "like it" cups , off the menu, nothing g special. We were there an hour ( playing one of their board games) at 2pm and not a single customer came in. Such a shame how far this location has fallen. We used to love coming to the Holmdel store. Today was my last time going to Cold Stone, ever. read more

I used to go to this location all the time but in the last year, things seem to have changed. I usually order a simple chocolate milkshake. I did today and I really hate to go back and have things remade but I had to go back and ask for an extra scoop to my milkshake because it was so watery. The servers are nice, but I think extra training might be beneficial. When I got home, I poured out some of the liquid before I blended the extra scoop and it was still super watery. Disappointing to pay $10 for a milkshake that isn't enjoyable. read more

The order was placed by phone in advance. I get home and all four orders are the same wrong flavor and two of them have no toppings on them and the other two have hardly any toppings on at all. I call the manager to complain and he states he mixed the ice cream and he watched the camera footage of the ice cream being prepared properly so I am WRONG and apparently BLIND! This man was incredibly rude and offered no apologies for his lousy customer service! For $52, I'll go to Carvel! Never again Cold Stone! read more

Went to Cold Stone at Holmdel NJ tonight at 7:45pm. Daughter just came back from NY, hoping to enjoy some ice cream as father and daughter. Waited for 25 minutes for our turn. There were 3 youngsters serving the customers. My daughter ordered her regular Strawberry Blonde and another for her aunt. I ordered the "Pie Like You Berry Much". Guess what, they made the strawberry blonde but not mine. Went to pay and they tried charging for 3 orders. Tired of waiting another 10 minutes for them to make mine. Had them change to only 2 orders. Sad thing is - They are more busy and anxious trying to fill the online orders than serving customers who are in the store. Not a good experience at all. I would stay away during evening hours like weekends from 6pm to 9pm. Otherwise you will wait for at least 25 min or longer before they take your order read more

This Cold Stone Creamery serves fresh and delicious ice cream. They have all of Cold Stone's famous signature creations that everyone knows and loves. Lots of great ice cream cakes ready to be purchased in the store. This Cold Stone is in a great location right off Route 35 and has fast and friendly service! It's a small store but there are a few tables indoors. There are board games that you can play at the table with your family while you enjoy your ice cream! read more

Completely mismanaged store. I rarely see more than 2 people working at any given time. One handles walk-in orders and the other handles delivery orders. Wait times during peak hours are always long - 10, 15, 20 minutes consistently. They never have enough help to handle the orders in-store and the ones coming in from Door-Dash and other delivery services. Hire more people! It's a no-brainer!!! I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about the incredibly poor attention to service. read more

I've been here twice and had mixed experiences. The ice cream was not that great the first time, but mine turned out well the second time. However, we did notice that my cousin's order did not look like mine even though we both ordered the same thing. His was not mixed very well and he was disappointed with how little mix-ins were in his ice cream. I've seen a lot of comments about the bad service, but I didn't have any issues in that regard. read more

Good evening! I'm not one to usually write reviews, especially bad ones, but tonight was pretty frustrating. My wife and I stopped in about 10 minutes ago for a milkshake and an ice cream. We were both excited for our favorite flavor, dark chocolate. When we arrived the dark chocolate was pretty low. My wife ordered first and there wasn't enough for her order. The girl behind the counter said she could mix it with another flavor, they didn't have enough. Another worker walked over and said that they have a lot more, right in the back. We were delighted. This was followed by the girl saying that's all we have, what do you want to mix it with. We were perplexed. Defeated, my wife mixed it with regular chocolate and was a little bummed. I ordered a dark chocolate and cookies and cream milkshake after. Since there was more in the back, I figured it was no big deal. We walked to the register. I watched the girl, who seemed like she didn't care to serve us at all, put regular chocolate in my milkshake instead of doing the right thing (which is her job) and restocking the dark chocolate and then making the shake. She lied and handed it to me acknowledging it as dark chocolate. When I tasted it I could immediately tell it was regular. It's much more sweet. I never complain, and I don't like to call people out, but if you are in the food service industry, or any customer service industry for that matter, it's really important to ensure that the customer has a good experience. I work in a restaurant and take pride in serving customers to the best of my ability. For this reason, I notice more keenly when people just don't care. My shake was very sweet, and my wife's ice cream wasn't what she was hoping for. I would absolutely choose another ice cream joint in the future because of this, and unless they are closed like they were tonight, we won't be back at this Cold Stone. I hope that the staff is able to learn the importance of serving customers the right way, it means a lot, and represents what the business is all about. It looks bad on the owners and company when things like this happen. We're certainly unsatisfied and underwhelmed. read more

I wanted to give this store another try after waiting about 8 months. The store has done a complete 180 degree turn. It WAS a completely mismanaged store with rap music blasting with the "F" word being every other word. NOW, it looks like they got some good people in there. My online order was ready, woman was nice, and she seemed to know the history of horrible service there. I will gladly be visiting again. read more

I been going to this ice cream place since I was little, the service use to be amazing and so were the flavors, but as of now every time I go the service has gotten worse. I excused the other times but this time was horrible. I came in the store with only 2 people ahead of me but for some reason I was never asked about my order until 12 min later. Keep in mind there were 2 employees present, and the two people were together. Once it was my turn I asked for a taste of a new flavor and that's when the staff gave me a sample and proceeded to take the other persons order behind me. 8 more min passed by and they still weren't done. That's when I've had enough and left. This place used to be good idk what happened to it. It's truly a disappointment. read more

I would never give my business to this place again. I ordered cake from them. They gave me wrong flavor and tasted like soap. I couldnt serve to my guests. It went into garbage. When spoke to the manager he over talked me and was very rude! I asked for a refund. Never got it. 60 dollars for a cake that went into the garbage! read more

I used to love this location but I think there's new owners. Ice cream cups had barely any mix ins and weren't full. Nevermind that it took 20 mins start to finish with ordering and paying. Two young girls were working with their hair down- no hair nets or pulled back, and their shirts were disgusting- covered with who knows what. Seemed to be a father and two daughters working. One was making a cake and didn't even bother saying hello. Father was just watching- didn't offer help. This place isn't even worth one star. Either sell back to original owners or close. read more

Left after 40 minutes of waiting I over heard they were out of some ingredients as well. Terrible! Worker was practically naked, I didn't know if it was cold stone or club 35. read more

Of all the cold stones in NJ sadly this one is below par mainly bc of customer service & what many other have shared. Last time we went the gentlemen working not only were talking & in their own world while the place was packed, we observed the 1 employee using his hands to put the ice cream in the cup after mixing the toppings. Not to mention by the time we got to the car everything was melted like soup . My fiancé said she will never go there again - will drive to a further location or different option before going back anytime soon read more

the person that took my order was not attentive and the bathroom was out of order on my visit

The ice cream was disappointing--it was overmixed and had a soupy consistency. Additionally, the service was very slow. Crappy inside as well. Very dirty. Trash can blocking bathroom. Ambiance is bad. If you're looking for a good place to get ice cream, I would recommend avoiding this establishment. The staff seemed inexperienced and did not provide good service. read more

Spent $50 for my granddaughter's birthday cake. They charged my cc an additional 15% for tip without my knowledge. Bad business!

This place was horrible. The ice cream they gave literally smelt like marijuana!!! That is illegal in the state of New Jersey!! MARIJUANA!!!! CANNABIS !!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE PERSON NEXT TO ME. BUT I WALKED AWAY AND SMELT IT AGAIN. AND AGAIN IY STILL SMELT EDIBLE . I asked the girl who served me. And she gave me an attitude 0/10 stars for her. She was so rude and I was trying to be nice but it smelt horrible. nothing like the edibles I used to have back in my teenage at Woodstock. It was worse I feel poisoned.. betrayed.. I trusted Groupon with coupon vouchers. But they too stabbed me in the back. By making this the only cold stone to use the vouchers in. I drove 45 min for this BETRAYAL read more

I wish there was another Coldstone in my area. This place used to be good before the pandemic but it's gone straight downhill. The 3 gentleman working the last time I went were horrible. They talked amongst themselves ignoring the line of people waiting to order. They do not hustle at all, in fact they take their sweet time with all tasks. I felt so disrespected waiting there for someone to acknowledge me for 10 minutes! They were just talking to each other as if I wasn't there. There is no reason why it should take almost half an hour for 3 employees to help 3 customers. It's ice cream not rocket science. One specific employee also heavily shorts you on ice cream, I've had to tell him multiple times that the cup should be filled for the prices they're asking. They also barley had anything available, hardly any toppings and about 5 flavors of ice cream. HORRIBLE. read more

I usually never write reviews but felt like I had to do this one. I haven't been to this store in about a year. We love cold stone ice cream so me and my husband stopped in. There was a young kid who was the only one working. He did not wear any gloves and kept running his hands through his long dark greasy hair and continued to keep preparing customers orders. I was so grossed out. I hope the owners read this review and teach their staff about cleanliness. Customers need to watch their orders being prepared. I won't be going back there. I guess when I want Cold Stone I'll check out the store in Manalapan. Hopefully they are wearing gloves. read more

Zymera was awesome! Excellent service, and they were nice even though we showed up late at night.

I used to love this ice cream. I didn't mind paying the price because I got what a paid for. Today what I got was a scam! 4 ice creams for $35 and they were literally half filled cups with hardly any mix ins. I was so looking forward to it all day. What's sad is when looking at yelp it doesn't even seem like the owners care to reply to the negative comments ! Bummer! read more

Unfortunately this location has gone down hill since the new owners took over in 2022. I had a cake that was made completely wrong. We didn't find out it was wrong until we got home and cut into it. It was a chocolate ice cream cake instead of vanilla. I followed up with corporate and got no response. Followed up with the store and got no response. I will definitely not be going back here. read more

$29 for 1 kids cup and 2 smalls - aftertaste - spoons out for everyone to touch - yuck

DO NOT COME HERE. The staff is extremely rude. They're rude to absolutely everyone that works in this plaza and customer. They try getting food off other restaurants in this same plaza FOR FREE. They will not refund your money. They're not welcoming at all, and the ice cream is over priced! However, they DO NOT offer any sort of discount to any workers in this plaza, but expect everything for free whenever they visit. I had gotten a chocolate cone for $9! They work blimpie as well and microwave EVERYTHING. I'm not sure what the attitude with everyone in this place is including THE OWNER. read more

I can't understand why this Cold Creamery has such a low rating! Cold Stone Creamery stands apart from all other ice cream parlors. It is the richest, creamiest ice cream in existence! The best part about it is you can eat it slow, and enjoy it as it seems to never melt. I had many of the different creations they offer, and they are all good. At this location I had the seasonal caramel chocolate cheesecake flavor with peanut butter and Reese's cups mixed in, and the cake batter flavor with brownies and cookie dough mixed in. I enjoyed them both. My only complaint is I wish my Reese's cups weren't crushed up so much as I like larger chunks of the Reese's when I'm eating my ice cream. It's not a big deal though as I could of told her prior before making it, but I was too busy looking at all the new ice cream flavors and mix ins they had that I wasn't paying attention. The girl working was really sweet, and let me sample different flavors. Cold stone makes a really filling ice cream, but not full enough where I couldn't enjoy two medium cups myself. I definitely recommend Cold Stone Creamery, and it's never to cold for good ice cream! read more
