Went to coldstone for my sister's birthday. We have been to multiple cold stone location, and have been pleased with the service everytime. As usual we ordered kid scoops, but were genuinely appalled by the (less than) spoonfull of ice cream given. I have never had a kids scoop where I can still see the bottom of the cup. The worker named nina refused to mix in any ingredients for my sister, and had a very condescending tone throughout our experience. She justified our 6 dollar spoonfuls saying they were the "cheapest thing on our menu". If you go, don't get a kids scoop. read more

Unfortunately we didn't check the reviews before we came. We have a great cold stone by our house and assumed we'd be in for the same experience here. Wrong. We had 7 ice creams to order. We were the only ones in the store with 3 people working. 2 started helping us but then one left. It took about 20 mins to get everything. They didn't hand us our ice creams as they made them so by the time my husband got his, it was half melted. They barely filled the cups, my daughter got about 3 pieces of cookie dough in her like it size. Too bad. Skip next time. read more

Cold stones ambiance feels cluttered with chairs twisted around and random decor places. When I walk in it can feel overwhelming because of the lack of space which isn't something the business can do about. But with more tables and chairs it's even worse. The food is good, being fresh and served well. The service here is well with few employees but greeting customers as they work. read more

When I got there it was 6:40pm he said (since there was only one person there working) said that the store was closed when it was 6:40pm and I went to check the store hours and it said it closed at 10:30pm. Both times, I arrived right at their posted opening time of 12pm, and the doors were locked. I waited 10 minutes and no one showed up or opened the store. I used to go to this location all the time but in the last year, things seem to have changed. I usually order a simple chocolate milkshake. I did today and I really hate to go back and have things remade but I had to go back and ask for an extra scoop to my milkshake because it was so watery. The servers are nice, but I think extra training might be beneficial. When I got home, I poured out some of the liquid before I blended the extra scoop and it was still super watery. The order was placed by phone in advance. I get home and all four orders are the same wrong flavor and two of them have no toppings on them and the other two have hardly any toppings on at all. I call the manager to complain and he states he mixed the ice cream and he watched the camera footage of the ice cream being prepared properly so I am WRONG and apparently BLIND! Went to Cold Stone at Holmdel NJ tonight at 7:45pm. Daughter just came back from NY, hoping to enjoy some ice cream as father and daughter. Waited for 25 minutes for our turn. There were 3 youngsters serving the customers. My daughter ordered her regular Strawberry Blonde and another for her aunt. I ordered the "Pie Like You Berry Much". Guess what, they made the strawberry blonde but not mine. Went to pay and they tried charging for 3 orders. Tired of waiting another 10 minutes for them to make mine. Had them change to only 2 orders. Sad thing is - They are more busy and anxious trying to fill the online orders than serving customers who are in the store. Not a good experience at all. I would stay away during evening hours like weekends from 6pm to 9pm. Otherwise you will wait for at least 25 min or longer before they take your order read more

Lots of great ice cream cakes ready to be purchased in the store. This Cold Stone is in a great location right off Route 35 and has fast and friendly service! It's a small store but there are a few tables indoors. There are board games that you can play at the table with your family while you enjoy your ice cream! read more

Completely mismanaged store. I rarely see more than 2 people working at any given time. One handles walk-in orders and the other handles delivery orders. Wait times during peak hours are always long - 10, 15, 20 minutes consistently. They never have enough help to handle the orders in-store and the ones coming in from Door-Dash and other delivery services. Hire more people! It's a no-brainer!!! I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about the incredibly poor attention to service. read more

I wanted to give this store another try after waiting about 8 months. The store has done a complete 180 degree turn. It WAS a completely mismanaged store with rap music blasting with the "F" word being every other word. NOW, it looks like they got some good people in there. Good evening! I'm not one to usually write reviews, especially bad ones, but tonight was pretty frustrating. My wife and I stopped in about 10 minutes ago for a milkshake and an ice cream. We were both excited for our favorite flavor, dark chocolate. When we arrived the dark chocolate was pretty low. My wife ordered first and there wasn't enough for her order. The girl behind the counter said she could mix it with another flavor, they didn't have enough. Another worker walked over and said that they have a lot more, right in the back. We were delighted. This was followed by the girl saying that's all we have, what do you want to mix it with. We were perplexed. Defeated, my wife mixed it with regular chocolate and was a little bummed. I ordered a dark chocolate and cookies and cream milkshake after. Since there was more in the back, I figured it was no big deal. We walked to the register. I watched the girl, who seemed like she didn't care to serve us at all, put regular chocolate in my milkshake instead of doing the right thing (which is her job) and restocking the dark chocolate and then making the shake. She lied and handed it to me acknowledging it as dark chocolate. When I tasted it I could immediately tell it was regular. It's much more sweet. I never complain, and I don't like to call people out, but if you are in the food service industry, or any customer service industry for that matter, it's really important to ensure that the customer has a good experience. I work in a restaurant and take pride in serving customers to the best of my ability. For this reason, I notice more keenly when people just don't care. My shake was very sweet, and my wife's ice cream wasn't what she was hoping for. I would absolutely choose another ice cream joint in the future because of this, and unless they are closed like they were tonight, we won't be back at this Cold Stone. I hope that the staff is able to learn the importance of serving customers the right way, it means a lot, and represents what the business is all about. I been going to this ice cream place since I was little, the service use to be amazing and so were the flavors, but as of now every time I go the service has gotten worse. I excused the other times but this time was horrible. I came in the store with only 2 people ahead of me but for some reason I was never asked about my order until 12 min later. Keep in mind there were 2 employees present, and the two people were together. Once it was my turn I asked for a taste of a new flavor and that's when the staff gave me a sample and proceeded to take the other persons order behind me. 8 more min passed by and they still weren't done. Of all the cold stones in NJ sadly this one is below par mainly bc of customer service & what many other have shared. Last time we went the gentlemen working not only were talking & in their own world while the place was packed, we observed the 1 employee using his hands to put the ice cream in the cup after mixing the toppings. I wish there was another Coldstone in my area. This place used to be good before the pandemic but it's gone straight downhill. The 3 gentleman working the last time I went were horrible. They talked amongst themselves ignoring the line of people waiting to order. They do not hustle at all, in fact they take their sweet time with all tasks. I felt so disrespected waiting there for someone to acknowledge me for 10 minutes! They were just talking to each other as if I wasn't there. There is no reason why it should take almost half an hour for 3 employees to help 3 customers. It's ice cream not rocket science. One specific employee also heavily shorts you on ice cream, I've had to tell him multiple times that the cup should be filled for the prices they're asking. I usually never write reviews but felt like I had to do this one. I haven't been to this store in about a year. We love cold stone ice cream so me and my husband stopped in. There was a young kid who was the only one working. He did not wear any gloves and kept running his hands through his long dark greasy hair and continued to keep preparing customers orders. I was so grossed out. I hope the owners read this review and teach their staff about cleanliness. Customers need to watch their orders being prepared. I won't be going back there. I guess when I want Cold Stone I'll check out the store in Manalapan. Hopefully they are wearing gloves. read more

Unfortunately this location has gone down hill since the new owners took over in 2022. I had a cake that was made completely wrong. We didn't find out it was wrong until we got home and cut into it. It was a chocolate ice cream cake instead of vanilla. I followed up with corporate and got no response. Followed up with the store and got no response. They will not refund your money. They're not welcoming at all, and the ice cream is over priced! However, they DO NOT offer any sort of discount to any workers in this plaza, but expect everything for free whenever they visit. I had gotten a chocolate cone for $9!
