When Cold Rush Wellness opened, I didn't realize how it would help me. After having a thorn deep in my thumb area, I was scheduled for surgery. I went for the Salt "room" therapy 45 mins with my bf. To be honest I expected more... the room was pretty small with thick salt rocks on the floor when you walk in. At first it's rough on the feet but you adapt. I was expecting sandy salt as if it's a beach of salt on your feet. Not enough room to stretch, maybe if you moved the chairs. The room was made well, just wish it had some type of Humidifier blowing more salt air in.. usually when you walk out you should feel the difference in your lungs.. honestly couldn't tell any difference. I ruptured my plantar fascia on 9/28 and have been struggling with the healing time. I am a runner who is used to logging up to 15 miles a week, so this injury is not only annoying, but time consuming as well. As of this review, I'm 12 weeks out and still not able to do much. I currently go to PT 3x a week and am making progress, but not at the level I'd like to be. I researched cryotherapy and figured I'd give it shot. I went to Cold Rush Wellness hoping against hope that cryotherapy might alleviate a long standing Achilles Tendon pain that had been preventing me from playing tennis for years. It was an almost last ditch effort to see if I might be able to get back to playing. Previous stints with physical therapy and anti inflammatories had been minimally effective at best. Dr Young , after a brief diagnostic exam, suggested some Chiropractic treatment in tandem with Cryo. Being that I had exhausted other avenues and didn't want to do surgery, I thought I would give it a try. This is without exaggeration: Dr. Young's treatment AFTER THE VERY FIRST VISIT reduced my Achille's Tendon pain by more than half . By the third visit, the pain (which used to be an almost constant companion) was basically gone. It was such a drastic change that I genuinely was in disbelief for a couple of weeks. I have only been here one time after doing the Xterra 10k Trail run in Laguna Beach, which kicked my butt. I had back to back weekends with races, so I didnt have a lot of time to recover from my half marathon which was on may 30th, before my second race that was on saturday and another trail run on sunday. So i had to get some additional help with my recovery. Usually I would ice myself to recovery with few epsom salt soaks, but Cold Rush Cryo was so perfect. To may naive brain, its almost like ice bath but dialed up way more, and much efficient and effective, and super clean. I wouldnt claim to know how this really works, but I think I do understand the idea, and it makes sense to me. the littel cryo gas machine chills you down to a body temperature of 40points. ( mine was 88 to start with). and I could tell the cooling effect, and strangely enough I felt very relaxed after this, and I was able to get back to running the day after. I only done once, but I understand if you do it more often, you get more benefits. I liked it so much I got my bf a gf for this place! and one of our friend swears by this cryo therapy and she does hard core stuffs like triathlon at crystal cove/el moro trails. Its pretty simple straight forward business, and people are just nice and sweet, and to the point. and I find them very personable, and genuine. They didnt try to upsell me anything except the fact that they took the time to explain the whole process to me! WHen I was there I always saw people coming in which is good thing, that they have very loyal following/customers. Being there only once, I am giving them 4 stars, but I do like this business. I didnt take advantage of their Yelp deal (75$ for 100$ card), or discount for yelp checkin. But if you are going there first time, make sure to use the yelp deals.
