As previous review stated here, the place is somehow treating "long-time" customers unfairly.... They abruptly tell us the dog is no longer welcome stating they have told us in the past that our dog was mounting at other dogs--as the previous reviewer stated--we didn't hear that at all, either. They will be friendly till they label your dog as "a bad dog" even after the regular daycare days throughout years. read more

We took our beloved Mastador (Black Lab/ Mastiff mix), Rufus for a meet and greet here. He is scheduled to be boarded here for a extended weekend. This will be his first time being boarded at a kennel. We want the best for our dog while we are away. That's very important to us, because he is also a PTSD Emotional Support Animal. It's just mot possible for us to take him with us on our trip. I was very impressed with the facility and the staff. He will not be locked up, except to sleep. He will have plenty of human contact. We are happy to trust our animal to these folks. read more

I'd like to start off by saying that the staff here are super friendly and welcoming. The storefront is great as well. I took my 3 month old German Shepherd 3x's a week to get her socialized, and have somewhere for her to run around and be puppy crazy on the days I needed to go into the office. I was told that all the staff are consistently trained, and very knowledgable. I was told my puppy would be safe, loved, and well cared for. I trusted them with that. Until I got a call that Vanellope had been "nicked" with "just a little puncture on her nose from another dog". I dropped what I was doing and went to go get my little girl. I understand accidents happen. I really do. My issue is that the story kept changing as to what happened. At first, I was told she got bit by an adult beagle because Vanellope "wasn't reading his cue's that he didn't want to play" to which my response then was "well that means you did, so why didn't you stop it?" Keep in mind, she's barely 3 months at this point. Then the story changed, to "well he's got a short fuse. He's nervous, and has anxiety and it's his first day boarding"..... so then why is he in there with the other dogs? Then I got a call from the owner the next day, explaining that what really happened (3rd time the story changed now) is my puppy ran up to him and barked trying to get him to play, and he snapped and bit her. The dog was not going to be removed from the daycare, because Vanellope was being rude by barking trying to get him to play (????). She's 3 months! Why didn't your staff stop it if she barked? I then realized that the owner is partial to beagles (which is what she got bit by), and fosters them. I was promised that when I bring her back they would keep them "separated". Which isn't a solution at all. So one has to go in a crate while the other one plays? What's the point of that? And I mean for either dog? That just takes away from both dogs' play time, and taxes the staff even more. The little "nick" she got was not just a nick. She has a scar under her chin as well as the one on her nose now that I get asked about every time I take her out in public, and that is not an exaggeration. In the picture attached you see the day I took her home after being bit, and the scar as of yesterday. I am not angry, but if I cannot trust them with the safety of a 3 (now 4) month old puppy or to be honest, I can't trust them with her safety as an adult either. Had the story not kept changing, it would have been much easier to deal with. Accidents happen. Own it. I drive the extra 20 mins now to take her to Leader of the Pack, where she is always so excited to be. She's well taken care of - and even after her first day there (without knowing any back story) they all said she plays so well with the other dogs, and her manners are great. It's been a month. No issues at Leader of the Pack. read more

What started out as visits on an as needed basis due to construction in our house has now turned into a full day of day care every Friday with an occasional 1/2 day thrown in when we feel our dog needs some extra play time. Just brought my dog in for an evaluation (since it's been 6months since they have seen him) and when I dropped him off he was hesitant to go in with the lady. The lady working asked if I would just run in a room then run out so we could get him to stay in there. I did what she asked and as she was trying to close the door fast (but still talk to me) she ended up closing the door on his backside. She called him after that and he went back in. I left and got back to my car in the parking lot( what parking lot, really?) and they called me and said he attacked a dog that I needed to come back to get him. My dog has never attacked another dog or shown aggression to another dog, ever. I had another dog too that he lived with for a year and never once. When I went back in, I was in such shock that he "attacked another dog" that I didn't even ask questions about the incident. I just said that is very unlike him and left. They just said no one was hurt, so that's good. My dog was literally there for a minute. They apparently don't have a good system to ease the dog in. Aside from this my dog did go there a couple times when he was younger and he even got his puppy training there. (Which was not worth the money) Also, as I was leaving there was a big bulldog outside who was waiting for us to leave and he began barking and growling and even knocked his owner down!!! He was allowed in though. Very disappointed how this situation was handled and something seems very odd about it. I do not recommend. read more

We have been going to this place for almost two years to board and have day care for our 70lb dog. Our dog was always excited to arrive at their location and we enjoyed being able to see her having fun on their video service. Over the past several months we were not able to take her due to a health issue. Recently we brought her to day care again to get her some social interactivity and exercise. Partway through the morning we got a call saying that she was getting into tiffs with other dogs and we needed to come and pick her up and she is no longer allowed at day care. We were surprised because this seemed very abrupt. We pointed out that we have been going here for a long time and asked if there isn't something we can do. They said they have repeatedly told us she has been having this issue and that they gave us instructions back in October that she needed 'recall training.' We were never told this and the only thing we can think of is sometime around that date she got bit by another dog and had a small wound on her nose 'insignificant', and they just told us there was another dog that got into a tiff with her and there were no issues and just said all is good. There was no warning or guidance that she had any issues. When we spoke to them about this and that we have not had any info and was completely unaware of any issues with our dog at the daycare, they just kept saying we told you in October and there is a note in the system that that conversation happened. I used to speak highly of this place and the way they just treated us is unfair and disrespectful to us and our dog. If they did give us a warning we would have done something about it and done the training and worked with her to be better. Without this information how are we supposed to know that there are issues? Every time we went on the camera we saw our dog having fun. Even though they said we could look into having a retest, we will never go here again. We just warn everyone that they are not up front when issues arise and appear to act in arbitrary ways. read more

Took my dog there a few years back for casual boarding. Nice young girl performed " interviews " with dogs boarding there at the time .. my dog passed the interviews with no significant aggressive interactions. After taking my dog there at least 20 times I got call that my dog was being overly aggressive and I needed to pick her up. Met the owner for first time and she wanted me to bring my dog for training on Mondays and that was not possible for me .. Never returned there and took her to K9 kampus in fogelsville since .. very good place to board your dog.. since my dog was evicted I know two other people that had similar experiences with pet eviction no wonder when you go to pick up your dog there is a 100 lb teenage girl watching a pack of 20 dogs in large dog pen all over 50 lbs.. typical hands off ownership paying minimum wage to employees and doing look see whenever they are done with whatever else they do all day read more

Double think this place if your dog is small!!! I took my dog there for a tour and evaluation ( that I had to pay 15 dollars for). My dog is about 15 pounds and timid. Their outdoor area is a fenced in area in the parking lot. They had , I would guess , 30-40 dogs in the area and had big dogs mixed with small dogs. As my dog and I passed, all the dogs ran up to the fence, as dogs do. A small dog that could not have been more then 10 pounds was run over by two large dogs that were running up to the fence- it actually did a somersault in the air. When my dog was being evaluated , I was in the employee area. That same dog was " attacked " ( staff's words) by another dog while I was there. They brought the small dog in with blood in its fur. They said that the little dog was scared and cried ( can you blame it?) and that was the only reason it was attacked. They said ( of the dog) that of course this is expected when you " scream like prey". Talk about blaming the victim. To be fair, I didn't see the actual attack- but still. They gave me a free voucher for a half day of daycare for my dog. I would much rather eat the cost than put my dog at risk there. read more

When I adopted my dog, Lady, she was about 5 years old. I found Cold Nose Lodge during their first year of operation. Lady enjoyed going there for eight and a half years. Lady passed away last week and I received a heartfelt card signed by all the staff that told me they really knew and loved Lady. In the beginning, we took training classes at the Lodge and that was very helpful for me. I always felt safe and comfortable bringing Lady for day care or boarding. The staff members are genuinely caring and attentive. I give Raine high praise for being creative and efficient in the services and merchandise available. I trusted Cold Nose Lodge with my very loved, very fuzzy dog and I recommend them highly! read more

This is our Charlie's home away from home. From his first puppy kindergarten class about a year ago to probably a half dozen boarding visits (as short as a night as long as a week), these are the only people he gets to hang out with when mom & dad are out of town. Prices are reasonable (we buy the 20 visit daycare pass to help with the cost) and I know that they take good care of him. I love that we can watch him on the doggie webcam if we want, but have not decided if they always know his name because he's a doll baby or a terror. I'm hoping it's for his adorable nature, but guessing he's more of a handful than they let on :) Bravo, Rayne and team! Charlie loves you, and we do, too. read more

We decided to bring the dogs to cold nose Lodge when we listed our home for sale. We thought the boys would have a fun place to hang out while we had showings. The staff seems to really love working with the pups. However, the boys were only at cold nose a few times, and they contracted Giardia once and kennel cough twice!!! Now one might think that they could've picked it up anywhere and it's not fair to blame called nose Lodge however we have three dogs and only sent two of them to cold nose Lodge the other one stayed created in the garage because he isn't great with strangers. All three times only the two dogs that went to cold nose got sick and the other one never did. There is no limit to how many dogs they take for daycare. It's just too crowded and too dirty. It's not safe or healthy at all! read more

I would never send my dog here again. I gave them three chances. My dog got bit several times and they pushed it under the carpet and acted like they didn't know what happened. They said they would look into it and they never did. The owner begged for me to try them again so I did. She stayed over night and the was accused she bit another dog. I asked to see the camera or picture and they said they were in the process of putting cameras up, which is a lie because they have cameras and take pictures of dogs instead of watching the dogs more closely. They also put my medium dog with large dogs. I understand dogs can be dogs, but my dog should not be coming home bloody and cuts. They told me my dog no longer came return. My dog is super loving and loves playing with dogs and people outside of this place. The pictures clearly show you let dogs bit each other. I highly recommend you go somewhere else, don't waste your money!!!! read more

Cold Nose is wonderful!!! We really struggled with the idea of having to board our dogs (babies).. We've always relied on family members to care for our animals but with two energetic, crazy, 10 month old pups - that's a lot to put on friends and family! We were recommended CNL by several people we know and we're so glad they did! Their boarding program is lovely. It's not like conventional boarding where your pet will spend the majority of their stay confined to a crate, only coming out for scheduled walks, etc. CNL breaks their program into boarding for the evening / daycare for the daytime. After every stay with CNL, whether extended or just spending the day, our girls come home whooped from all of the activity! One of the things we love about CNL is that they have a camera system you can log into to check on your dogs during the day. Granted, if the weather is nice they are outside more than inside; so you might not catch them too much in the playrooms. Speaking of which, the playrooms are nice and big! They have two rooms, the "Big Dog Room" and the "Small Dog Room" - each with play equipment and plenty of toys! Another thing we love about CNL is their ability to house multiple dogs together. Our girls are actual siblings and they sleep together at home. At CNL, they're kept in the same "room" together at night which I know comforts them as much as it comforts us! They supply a toddler bed and sheet, but they also allow you to bring in personal items as well. I could go on - but in short, we highly recommend Cold Nose Lodge! We truly have such peace of mind when we leave them :) read more

This business and their staff are incredible. They have always been accommodating and loving toward us and our dog! Recently we had made a reservation and had to cancel because our dog passed away. Soon after we received a kind letter in the mail signed by their whole staff with sweet messages. This meant so much to my family as we read through their stories of Ike and condolences. Beware owner can be very rude. So i walk in the door to drop off my dog and a lady near the counter tells me that my dog shouldnt be wearing a prong collar and that she doesnt want other customers to see a dog like mine walking in that way. First of all i didnt even know WHO she was since that was the first thing she had said. When i said " sorry i dont even know you" she says oh im the owner.. What kind of customer service is that??? Seriously? I just walk in the door not even a hello or any type of greeting and she looks like a random lady speaking to me like that out of nowhere. Then she tries to sell me a cheap harness that is like super small and suggests that since its like "steering a car" when its on a dog to control the upper portion of the body. I already have a 10x better harness for my dog. And his vet sees no problem with this prong collar on him and his previous training is the one who suggested he wear it especially during walking/training. Hes 80 pounds and has a lot of strength. Plus during his evaluation prior to daycare, nobody even said a freakin word about being anti prong collars there!! And the collar comes off before he enters a room. She also said that some owners like the prong collars and suggest to leave it on but that her staff wouldnt touch the dog then. She believes the prong collars would lead to aggressive behavior and she worked in a shelter for so many years and she would hate to see dogs like mine become aggressive... Ummm hello this isnt a freakin shelter nor is my dog aggressive at all!!! The workers are extremely nice and pleasant but this owner was just so unpleasant when i walked through the door. When i told a friend about this incident she had expressed how the owner was rude to her as well with her dog previously and sold her those cheap harnesses they have and that her dog chewed through it. When she tried to get a refund they refused because she "should have been watching her dog" well how about you stop selling your cheap merchandise to people. Horrible customer service skills from her. Leader of the pack is sooo much better and have a kinder way of communicating things. Much more professional. read more

Sought for daycare services due to separation anxiety and destructive behavior. I can't give much input since we barely made it past 10 minutes so I'll just share our experience. I was optimistic given the reviews and how their website actually discussed dog daycare possibly helping dogs with separation anxiety. Our's was such a dog and we made sure to disclose this. We paid $15 and arrived a couple minutes late do to the train that runs right next to the building. We met with a woman, who I assume was the owner, who walked us through the facility. She then took our dog into a play room, while we stayed behind to watch through a window. She introduced a few dogs then promptly returned after only approx. 5 minutes, handing me back the leash and saying she didn't feel this was a fit for our dog. She had apparently showed her teeth and wouldn't back down from another dog when confronted. What followed was awkward and uncomfortable. I asked for advice and received a dismissive shrug and the suggestion of a dog sitter. For the record, my dog is a 39lb, 7 y/o, cattle/lab mix. Not a threatening size or breed but for whatever reason, we didn't make the cut. The facilities were clean and sufficient, not remarkable, and I felt the outdoor play area was quite limited in space. Perhaps someone else will have better luck than we did. Suffice to say, in our experience, it wasn't just the noses that were cold that day. read more

We started taking our two dogs there not too long after they opened. Not sure what happened with the incident of the pronged collar but I found Rayne, the owner, to be gracious and friendly to both us and our dogs. I know they do not want collars of any type on the dogs in play rooms, for safety sake, which was explained to me when I first went. Our dogs love it there and I always feel they are in good hands. It is the only place we will leave them overnight. We also get our dog food there ,which is reasonably priced. read more

A lot of lip service about how wonderful this place is, but I couldn't disagree more! For the most part the general staff and dog handlers work very hard and are conscientious about the care of the dogs they are responsible for. But, be very leery of the "Behavior/Trainers. If the dogs in their care are not cute little fluffy animals of 20 lbs. or less, they don't seem to have a clue on correcting behavior such as jumping up. Their solution is to immediately crate the dog for the remainder of it's stay (no matter how long the stay) if it jumps to lick a person too roughly. We're not talking about biting or aggressively attacking someone. This is not the issue. The issue is if the trainers were really doing their job they would be attentive and understand what behavior is about to take place and be prepared to work on it. As opposed to making no effort to correct the situation, except to complain. Apparently trusted base training means something totally different to them. Getting the dog to trust them has to start with the human. read more

A follow up to my previous review, and again this place is awesome! One of our dogs needed 2 medications and a foot soak 2x a day for a nail bed infection. I could tell right away the staff did their job because the foot looked amazing when I picked them up. I even forget the soaking sometimes, but they did a better job than I do. Also, I checked the cameras everyday and called sometimes also just to check in. Each time I spoke to someone they were very helpful and were not irritated at all by my checking in. The dogs had baths and were all fresh and clean and ready to go home. I sure did miss them, but they were in very good hands while we were away. We will definitely be going back for play time and lodging! read more
