I went to Colberns 1 year ago and had my truck detailed and ceramic coated with paint protecting film on the bumper and head lights it looked great. I took my girlfriend's new car there and he recommended a rock clear product. What a difference. My ceramic coating was just about due to be touched up and asked about the rock clear. Nick said it was possible but would take some work. He said it would be about 40% tougher and deeper in color. He did not lie. What a difference. It looked so good I had him do my trailer too. I was looking for someone to hand wash my truck because most businesses in the Ventura area are drive through first. I came to yelp and headed to Colberns. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner himself and told him what I wanted. In return he gave me options in detail and it wasn't like a sales pitch. It was straight forward what he could do to make his customer happy. We walked out to my truck so he could give me an estimate on what it would cost to detail the outside. Nick explained what he was going to do and gave me a quote. I was planning on needed to make an appt but he was able to get me in a couple hours later. I got lucky! When I came back there was no wait and my truck was taken back to get washed. The lobby is really nice, they offer refreshments of all kinds. After they were done Nick came up front and he didn't just treat me like a business transaction. We had a fun conversation, I felt really valued. I instantly started asking about more services. Nick walked me to my truck and noticed there was a tire that needed dressing so called his crew to address it. In my opinion, it was perfect already but he wanted to make sure I left with the utmost quality. The whole experience was great and I'd give 10 stars if I could. I have a new white 2024 Kia Sportage and took it to Colberns/Nick after I had it a couple of months because of something I did and needed a small section buffed out. I picked Colberns because of all the incredible reviews I saw. They did a great job. Then a couple of months later, I went on a road trip where there was a lot of road construction going on and painting lines on the road. My car ended up getting splattered with a lot of paint on the sides, rear and tire wells. It turned out to be an approximate $7,000 insurance claim. So I went back to Colberns. The white paint sections were able to be "buffed" out, but all the black trims (and there was a lot) couldn't simply be buffed out (parts replaced?). Nick ended up putting what he calls a "film" over all the black trim sections and some black trim sections that didn't even have paint on them. This process is incredible. He also put a special coating on all the white sections. My car is so protected now and shiny! Nick is very particular, knows exactly what he's doing and clearly takes pride in making his customer happy. I highly recommend Nick and his company Colberns. read more

Nick Colbern runs a very tight ship. He recently worked on my Tesla S and my wife's X. The quality of work that he does is second to none. He explained everything in detail and was extremely meticulous with all aspects of the job. He even dropped off a missing screw for the rear plates of one of the cars. My 2008 Cayanne was in dire need of lots of love as it's had been parked outside and I've used it as my "truck". Colberns did job w detail bringing her back to her "like new" beauty inside and out. Also added lite ceramic (amazingly easy to wash now - as ive had my car back for a month). Also i complained that the black leather interior it holds too much heat so Nick suggested window tint and it made a huge difference. My wife and I were very reluctant to spend the money for PPF but, after discussing with Nick all the options and he explained the importance of it, it was actually a no brainer. We bought a used Tesla with nearly 16k miles but it was in great shape and we wanted to keep it that way. We had PPF on the entire front, side mirrors and rocker panels and ceramic coating on the rest as well as the windows and the wheels. He explained in detail how everything would protect the factory finish and even demonstrated the strength of the PPF but letting my wife attempt to cut through it. This is some tough material. I was referred to Colberns by Carl from Ding Masters. He spoke highly of Nick, the owner. Carl has done several repairs for us and I value his opinion. I had a couple scrapes on my bumper that looked like the paint was scraped off. But fortunately we had a film put on the bumper when we bought the car new 4 years ago and it protected the paint so it did not need to be repainted. The film needed to be removed and replaced. I also had the Feynlab Ceramic Ultra V2 treatment put on the rest of the car. My car is a quartz red and the result is stunning. The paint job now looks better than new and is so smooth to the touch. I think Nick is a perfectionist and takes great pride in his work. He explained everything thoroughly and the job was done in a timely manner and he kept me informed during the process. I had an "emergency car show" (yes, it's a thing!) for my '59 Corvette and Nick rearranged his Saturday morning so I could stop on my drive from LA to Santa Barbara for the Montecito Motor Classic having never met me before, so that's first. The car is in the "Preservation" category so everything is original, including the paint, so it really requires a skilled craftsman who is a perfectionist. Watching him over an 3 hour period very lovingly and with tremendous knowledge and expertise cleanse and hydrate the paint, explaining what he was doing and why... what could - and couldn't - be done for the chrome... how to wipe it down the morning of the show and then give me towels and product to do it after I set up, was amazing... Not impressed, felt totally ripped off.. We requested a detail & it was definitely not that. I had to point out a lot of "details" that they've missed. Super obvious ones, like the side of the door panels, outside the glovebox, seats, starter button. If I'm paying $500-$600 for a detail, why am I telling you where to clean & shouldn't the cleaning be "detailed"? Very disappointed in "quality of work". We went to pay and "Nick" tried to charge more than we were quoted for, about $200 more because he used a better wax on the car. Honestly, it felt more of a rush job/hustle in my opinion.
