So we just found a location that closed to us. So we arrived around 1:15pm, that was not a long lineup, and the photo taken place was decorated and themed festively. The staff was really nice and helpful. Due to 3 cats too much work, we didn't bring them here. We completed the photo shoot and got some treats for our cats. There was a $5 coupon valid only this weekend. I didn't read it in store, I figured out after home, so I have to go to the store again the next day. At least, I got them some extra treats. And some specific brands earn 10x points. Thank you PetSmart for this thoughtful idea that we could take pictures with our little friends and get some discounts.

This Ren's location carries the most extensive pet grooming tools and supplies I have ever seen in a retail store. There are aisles (plural) of them, compared to a small section of a single aisle in many pet stores. Soaps and shampoos come in gallon jars. I am a cat owner. My cat doesn't require me to groom him much. The dry food section carries the most popular/best selling brands of premium cat food. But the choices are less than Global Pet Food and Pet Valu. I don't see many mid-level cat food brands either. If your pet food of choice is here, and you buy the larger bag, the prices are really good. For smaller bag (2lb to 6lb), the prices are on par with other pet stores. Wet cat food has the same selection issue. Ren's put some cat food on sales on the day we visited. I notice there were more wet food put on sales than dry food. If you are a dog owner, you will find a decent variety of dog food, including raw food in freezer.

Pet Valu is my go-to pet store thanks to it's super convenient location and super friendly staff!…read more It's been recently renovated, which makes it a lot more open and attractive. They have a great selection of foods for all pets - I used to shop there when I had rats (which I always called 'long-tailed hamsters' if the thought of a rat weirds you out) and now that I have my lovely kitty Sawyer, I'm there for his food and litter. The prices are not necessarily competitive, but they are comparable - don't expect you're going to save a ton of cash here, but if you're looking for good, quality pet food and supplies, you'll definitely be able to get what you want. They also have a large selection of brands, which I really appreciate - it means that I can get exactly what I want for my pets! While they don't have actual animals for sale at Pet Valu - which is a good thing - they do always have kitties from Toronto Cat Rescue up for adoption - so you can go and visit them while you shop! If you live in the area, Pet Valu is definitely a convenient shop for all your pet needs!
